Alesa,
I’m so sorry for your loss and feel your pain. It’s never easy to say goodbye to bye to our beloved friends but as I learned this past weekend and multiple times before, it’s the greatest gift we are able to give them, sometimes. I won’t say the pain will ever go away or it will get easier with time because each person’s journey is different. I had to say goodbye to a cat I’d only had in my life 2 1/2 years, this past Saturday but it was probably the hardest goodbye I’ve made off all the cats I’ve had because he truly was my soul cat. I didn’t adopt my Oliver, he chose me as his human. When I did my pre-adoption visit I did a crate visit because his surviving bonded brother,Sebastian, was and still is very timid and shy and they didn’t want to force him out of the crate. Anyway when I reached in the crate to pet them, Oliver put his paw over my hand and started licking me. I knew then they both were coming home with me, I just never dreamed Oliver would be gone in 2 1/2 years. Hopefully in time your grief and pain will lesson. One thing I’ve. Found helpful in easing my shattered heart is to share Oliver’s story in online support groups like this one. My vet also has an individual who leads an online zoom support group and also offers one/one therapy sessions. I’m not sure how much she charges for the later or if she’d be willing to do this via tele-health but if you’re interested I’ll gladly share her contact information with you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you mourn Bruno’s passing. May you and all others mourning the loss of a beloved animal or human feel God’s loving healing embrace. -

Hi everyone, it’s been a long time since I’ve visited this site, but please know that I pray daily for all who are mourning the passing of a beloved Pet ,that they may feel God‘s loving healing, embrace. I also pray that anyone both human and animal who is dying will be surrounded by family , friends and those most significant and important to them. That said I’d like to share a memorial in loving memory of my sweet, lovable Oliver.
On Saturday morning, March 29 you shattered my heart into a million pieces when I had to say goodbye to you Oliver. your passing was so sudden and unexpected , that I had no time to really prepare myself. Yes you had health issues which you were being treated for but we were just at the vet Friday morning for a quality of life check and the vet said you were holding your own. Then three hours later, you started yowling like a screaming child and acting strangely. I picked you up to comfort you, and after calming down some, you jumped down from my lap and lost total control of your back legs. Both the emergency vet I took you to Friday evening and your own Vet believe it was probably a thrown blood clot that prematurely took your life. I took you to urgent care and the Vet and I talked about what was best for you. She gave you some pain medication as I chose to take you home so Sebastian your bonded brother could be with you as you crossed the rainbow bridge because I didn’t want him dying of a broken heart like my Saraya did after she lost her two bonded sisters, within two months of each other. Big mistake on my part because despite the pain medicine given to you, your fear and anxiety were off the charts and it was a long night for both of us. Thankfully, Your vet Stack veterinary Hospital was able to get us in shortly after they opened Saturday morning and Sebastian and I surrounded you with our love and sadness as we said goodbye and you crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The greatest gift I was able to give you in the 2 1/2 years we shared together was letting you go rather than prolonging your suffering, even if it did shatter my heart into a million pieces. To say Sebastian and I will miss you is an understatement. The hole that you have left in my heart may never totally heal, but knowing that you are free of all pain, fear and anxiety will help me to heal, Oliver. You were that one cat in a lifetime that touches ones soul. You adopted me versus me adopting you. when I did my pre-adoption visit with you and Sebastian. I did a crate visit as the SPCA did not want to force Sebastian, your shy, timid, brother who deeply misses you to have to come out of the crate. When I reached my hand into your crate to Pet, you both, you put your paw over my hand and started licking my hand, letting me know I was yours. It was love at first sight and I knew you and Sebastian were meant to come home with me. I only wish your time with me and your brother had been longer than 2 1/2 years but now you are free of your cancer, heart disease and any other health issues we weren’t aware of. until we meet again when it’s my turn to cross the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. please guide me in my search for a new fur baby to welcome into the family in your memory that needs a loving forever home like you and your brother once did. gone from my sight but not from my heart. 💔🐾🌈😿❤️ love you forever Oliver, your human mom, your bonded, brother, Sebastian, and your brothers, Takoda and Oreo -

Hi I haven’t posted in awhile but wanted to share an up date on my 4 boys that were adopted in memory of my 3 girls that passed between May of 2022 and January of 2023. Oliver, on my lap and Sebastian the orange one are my bonded 11 year old senior boys. They celebrated their 2nd gotcha anniversary on August 4. Sebastian is beginning to feel more comfortable and at home and enjoys spending time with his human when his brothers aren’t around. Oliver is my expensive” problem child, who’s being treated for IBS and is doing reasonably well and thankfully will eat the special diet food prescribed by the vet. He’s also down to a healthy 11-12 lbs, his weight fluctuates from his pudgy 17 lbs when I first got him. Takoda, my all black 3 year old is doing well, compared to his “ incorrigible” , 3 year year old brother Oreo, he is mellow and quiet but gave his human quite the scare in May of this year when he went missing for 4 days, just before his first gotcha day anniversary. Oreo, was my emergency rescue, whom, I adopted less than a month after Takoda. He’s the sweetest lovable boy when he wants to be but is also an incorrigible holy terror at times, driving his brothers crazy, especially poor Sebastian, who wants to know why his human welcomed him into the family. Oreo is a wild and crazy boy who has boundless energy and is often times seen zooming around the house at high rates of speed, “flying” over 18 gallon totes and leaping onto counters and high places. However despite all the challenges of having 4 cats, I can’t imagine life with out my boys, miss them when I’m unable to be with them and they’ve most certainly helped to fill the void in my life and the hole in my heart after I lost my Spirit, 14, Autumn Ranger, 12 and Saraya 16 1/2 all with in less than 8 months of each other. Hoping everyone is doing as well as they are able as they welcome new fur babies into their lives and mourn the passing of others. God’s loving, healing embrace be with you all. Prayers for all mourning the passing of a beloved pet and for the recovery of sick ones.-
Suzanne🤗🤗I am so happy to hear from you, and to have this wonderful update. That’s what we hope for in our community – to hear about your babies, those with us, and those to whom we have said goodby. You have quite the full house! I feel as if I know each of them now, just a bit, and they sound like great buddies for you and among themselves (well, most of the time)😎 How lovely and loving of you to open your home and heart again, especially to these boys who were in need. And it’s great that you kept bonded pairs together. I think Mac and Roni would die, literally, if they were separated. Maybe you will join our group call Thursday September 19th and try to corral the kids so we can meet them. That would be very nice, and we’d love to see you. Please keep sending updates, and pictures if you can because we love seeing the little darlings (monsters).😻You are always welcome to light another candle to each Spirit, Autumn Ranger and Saraya as a way of sending them a little “kiss”. Thank you for being such a wonderful, kind person. Sending lots of {{BIG HUGS}} to you all. Toni

Hi Suzanne, I’m glad to hear that your kitties are moving along nicely and doing well. You surely have a lot on your plate, but I know it gives you so much joy to have all of them with you. What a nice life you are giving them.
Thank you for the update and I wish you all the best.

Toni,
I’m so sorry to
Hear of the passing of Walter. In the short time he was with you in his final fur ever home you both touched each other’s lives and once again your heart is hurting and has another hole, hopefully at the right time to be filled by another fur baby in need of a loving fur ever home as Walter was.
As hard as it is to say good bye for the final time you made the right decision to set him free of his pain Hindsight bring for sight, I let my spirit suffer longer than she should have because I was selfish and wasn’t ready to say goodbye. While the decision to set Autumn Ranger and Saraya free wasn’t easy I tried to be less selfish and release them earlier on so they didn’t have to suffer anymore
You and everyone else mourning the loss of a beloved animal or human are in my prayers. -

Thanks for the invite Toni. I will try to join the zoom meeting this Thursday providing I don’t get sidetracked and forget. Hugs and prayers to all of you who are struggling with the loss of a beloved pet. Remember to be gentle with yourselves and don’t let others get to you when they think you should be over your loss by now. Until they have lived and experienced loss they will never understand. For many people who have never had a pet it’s just an animal to those of us who have loved a beloved animal it is/was a family member.

Hi everyone sorry I’ve been so out of touch. While I’m not good at regularly checking in, I do pray daily for all animals and humans in need of healing, for a peaceful pain free death for all animals and humans who will die and that they may be surrounded by loved ones, family and friends and finally for all who are grieving the loss of a loved one or beloved pet, that they may feel God’s loving, healing embrace. I have been thinking a lot about Spirit and Autumn Ranger both of whom I lost this year. Today was especially hard when I received an email from PetSmart telling me to open it for a birthday gift for Spirit. She would have been 15, “unofficially” today. It was also around this time that she joined my family. I wanted to share pictures of my new babies, Oliver, the tiger cat and Sebastian, the orange cat. Adopting Oliver and Sebastian on August 4, 2022, was a fulfillment of a promise. Arhat I made to Spirit and Autumn Ranger, As I said good bye to them; that I’d adopt cats in their memories who were in need of a loving fur ever home as they once were. They are bonded 9 year old declawed 😿”brothers”. Oliver, AKA Mr. Chubs, he was 17 lbs, when I adopted him and he’s now down to almost 15 lbs, is very friendly and out going. He loves belly rubs, and likes to hold my hand down with one paw as he licks me. Sebastian is very shy and hides a lot but is slowly coming out of his shell and feeling more at home. The photo of Sebastian on my lap was taken last Tuesday evening. I refer to it as an early Christmas gift as Sebastian, unexpectedly started hanging out with me, allowing me to pet him and even spent some time sitting on my lap, a first. Saraya , my feisty, sassy 16 1/2 year old is the black cat and my foster failure. She and I have been together for 16 years, this month. She turned 16 in June and was my best failure ever. She gave me a scare recently and I thought I might possibly be loosing her too but thankfully it seems she’s on the mend again. She was eating poorly and peeing everywhere but the litter box. I got her into my wonderful vet and found out she had either a UTI or kidney infection. Evidently both are common when you have kidney disease, which she has thankfully she will eat the kidney diet food, especially the wet food. Since she wouldn’t take the prescribed antibiotics I got her into the vet again for an antibiotic injection, expensive but worth the peace of mind. She’s also gotten fluids twice now and will continue to get them 1-2 x per week, as needed. I told the vet when I saw her last Tuesday, that I needed her to be honest with me regarding Saraya’s because I wasn’t going to be selfish and think of my need to keep her with me until I was ready and cause her undue pain and suffering as I more than likely did with Autumn Ranger and Spirit. If it was her time then I was prepared as painful as it would be to let her peacefully go. Thankfully this didn’t happen and now she eating up to a 5-5.5 Oz can per day of food. Merry Christmas, Holiday Blessings and Happy New Year to all pets and their humans.

Yes, Suzanne, time can help ease the pain, but time is fungible, and we each flow through grief at our own pace. I hope to see you at the meeting this Thursday. If not, please know I am thinking of you. Toni

Hi Toni,
Sorry I’ve been so out of touch. Thank you for thinking of me and checking in. I meant to let you know I would be unable to make the August zoom meeting as I was doing last minute vacation preparations, as I left the next day for twice two weeks to visit family in NH. I was also very worried about whether or not I’d be able to get one of my two new boys into the carrier to bring to NH with me. Thankfully all worked out and the 4 of us made it safely to NH and back again. I fulfilled my promises that I made to both Spirit and Autumn Ranger. On August 4, I welcomed two bonded 9 year old declawed boys, Oliver and Sebastian. I chose to keep their given names since they were older boys and I didn’t want to confuse them. They ended up back in the shelter after their human had to enter a nursing home. Oliver is a very out going and friendly and is nicknamed by me, Mr. Pudge, as he weighs in at 17 1bs. We’re trying to work on loosing some weight but time will tell. H… -

Continuing to hold you in prayer Carmelina and hoping that you are able to find some peace and healing in the wonderful memories you shared with Milo, over those 21 years. Never forget that while Milo is no longer with you person, he’s watching over you from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge and loves you from the great beyond as he did when he was with you. Holding you in prayer.

So sorry to hear of Scarlett’s passing. Please don’t blame yourself for not being aware of Scarlett’s illness. Animals have a way of hiding illness abs disease until it’s to late. Both of my girls whom I lost with in less than two months of each other would never have been diagnosed with their thyroid and kidney disease if they hadn’t presented with other medical concerns for which I brought them to the vet. Scarlett wants you to try to remember and cherish all the wonderful happy times you shared together. Her love for you even from beyond is unconditional. Holding you in prayer.

Kristi,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear sweet boy Apache and for his fur sister who is grieving his loss as much as you are. Hopefully the two of you in your own special ways will be able to help each other heal. Praying for you and Apache’s fur sister during these difficult and painful times. -

Marybeth,
I’m so sorry for you and your family during this difficult and painful time. It’s never easy to say good bye to a beloved fur baby. I myself know I lost my Spirit and Autumn Ranger within less then two months of each other both passed from Thyroid and Kidney disease. Hopefully in the remaining weeks that you have with this dear sweet boy, you and your family can create some wonderful memories with him. Maybe even create a bucket list of things you’d like to do with him, if he’s not in to much pain, to create wonderful and lasting memories. I think it’s very touching that your son sees this precious boy as part of the family and wants to have him included in his Senior pictures. That says a lot about your son and the wonderful young man he must be. Holding you all in prayer at this difficult and painful time. -

Glenda, I’m so very sorry to hear of Kissinger’s passing. I think it’s even tougher when they cross the Rainbow Bridge, unexpectedly. Two consolations to hopefully find in his passing is one, you didn’t have to help make the decision for Kissinger and secondly, he knew it was his time and he did everything he could do in his own sweet way to say good bye to you and try to let you know what an important part of his life you were to him. Holding you and all your fur babies in my prayers. -

Once again less then 2 months after the passing of my dear sweet Spirit, who crossed the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge on 5/23/22,
I had to say good bye to my beloved Autumn Ranger on July 18,2022.
The house just isn’t the same, last week I said good bye to you, my beloved Autumn Ranger, the second time I had to make this decision in less then two months. My heart is broken, my grief unbearable but I know to have kept you with me me would have caused you untold pain and suffering. You gently but purrsistently let me know it was time to say goodbye. You who rarely meowed started to do so more and more frequently. You were eating less and less and choosing not to take your meds. And this morning as we laid in bed you pawed me numerous times so I’d pet you and rubbed your head against me looking for your favorite head rubs. While I was enjoying sone extra quality time with you, having had to take the day off for your vet appointment, unlike me you knew today was the day we’d say good… -

Regina, I’m so sorry to hear that Coco crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I know that grief and pain having lost two fur babies in less then two months. I’m also very happy for you that you’ve found another beautiful girl Bella, who is in need of a loving fur ever home. I’m sure Coco will be very pleased to know you were able to find room in your heart in the midst of your grieving and pain at Coco’s passing. I told my two girls as I said my tearful goodbyes to them that I would adopt two more cats, in their memories, who need a loving fur ever like they once did. -

Kissinger is a sweet looking little cat. I pray you and Kissinger will have many years and memories together as you and Bubbles did. I feel your pain Glenda I had to let my dear sweet Spirit cross the Rainbow Bridge last Monday May 23. I took the day off from work knowing I wouldn’t be good to be around and it was good I did, as I found myself sobbing throughout the day. While I didn’t have my Spirit for as long as you had your Bubbles, I have many found memories of her and her two sisters Saraya 16, and Autumn Ranger 12, who are still with me. One thing I’ve found that helps with the pain is sharing my memories of Spirit and talking about her with others who care and understand, like this wonderful group. Even as I share my thoughts with you, I find myself once again becoming emotional. -

When we love our pets as much as we do, no matter how short or long the time we have with them, the pain of having them cross the Rainbow Bridge, is always intense I believe. Please know I hold you and all others who have lost dearly beloved pets in my thoughts and prayers and pray regularly that all humans and animals when they pass from this world to the next will always be surrounded by loved ones. -
