It’s with a heavy and broken heart that I share with you that my dear sweet little Spirit, lost her 2 plus years battle with Kidney disease, on Monday May 23, 2022, and crossed the Rainbow Bridge; where she’s now enjoying a life free of pain and suffering. I’m sure she’s now running free with Morgain, Kovu, Eragon, Chai , Lyta,Coda,Tabiths and her other 4 and 2 legged family members. My dear sweet Spirit I’m sitting here reminiscing about all the annoying, funny, sweet, loving quirky things you’d do. How you strolled into my house when the cable guy, there for the upstairs tenant left the porch door open and you moved into my basement. For the longest time you hid yourself from me but meowed so loudly that I could hear you through the graying vents in the floor; this you acquired your name because you were a talkative unseen Spirit. I also remember your last but if defiance the Friday evening before you passed when you swiped my pizza right off my plate. How you liked to sleep on the pillow right my head, standing underfoot all the time when I was preparing food, checking out what was in the refrigerator when I’d open it to get something out and the cellar door pan along all the time instead of using the many scratching posts you had access to. I’m thinking of getting a small table and placing it next to the basement door, that you always liked to scratch and placing your ashes there. It can take the place of the laundry basket I used to put there to prevent you from scratching and that I’d always have to move abs remember to put back each time I’d go to the basement. My days will be easier now with less prep work and I’ll save on cat liter but what I wouldn’t give to have my dear sweet girl back with me, as would her 2 fur sisters Saraya and Autumn Ranger. I miss you so much Spirit and it’s only been 2 days since I said good bye and let you cross the Rainbow Bridge. We had a wonderful 12 1/2 years together and I’m so glad that you chose me as your human mom. You may be gone but you’ll never be furgotten.
    • Oh Suzanne, I can’t see the keyboard because I’m crying so hard reading this. I’ll be back with you tomorrow. But please know how you have touched me with your loving story. I am so sorry. Toni
      • I am sorry to hear Suzanne. This was beautifully put. I can feel the love you put into this post so I have no doubt Spirit felt that from the time you let her in. You are in my thoughts.
        • Suzanne, how are you doing now? I was, and am still, so very touched by your beautiful Spirit. She and my beloved Beauty Girl looked so much alike (you can read her memorial here: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/beauty-girl/ ). I have a canvas picture of her I pet and kiss every day, and while I am glad for her to be at peace, as you are for Spirit, I know how much you miss her. Please, keep us posted about how you, and your other faithful friends are doing. {{HUGS}} Toni
          • Thank you Toni for your caring thoughts. It’s hard especially when I’m doing things that remind me of my dear sweet girl. But knowing that I have a place to share my pain sadness and grief with people who know and understand what I’m going through both virtually and in person, helps the grief and pain to begin to heal. Thank you for your thoughtful comments and for permitting me to join this group. I’m also thankful that I have two other beautiful fur girls Saraya, who will be 16 next month and is in terrific health and still likes to play like she’s a kitten and Autumn Ranger who just turned 12 and like Spirit, also suffers from kidney and thyroid disease at the moment is holding her own, who help with the grief and pain because they give me a reason to keep on living. 🤗💔❤️🐾🐈‍⬛
            • Thank you Tay for your kind words. Bring a part of virtual groups like this make the grief and pain easier to bear.
              • Suzanne, I am glad you know you can safely share your feelings with us. The format is “virtual”, or electronically shared, but we are real people who love our pets and animals, and we do understand the joys and the pains. Please keep us updated. Toni
                • Once again less then 2 months after the passing of my dear sweet Spirit, who crossed the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge on 5/23/22,
I had to say good bye to my beloved Autumn Ranger on July 18,2022.
The house just isn’t the same, last week I said good bye to you, my beloved Autumn Ranger, the second time I had to make this decision in less then two months. My heart is broken, my grief unbearable but I know to have kept you with me me would have caused you untold pain and suffering. You gently but purrsistently let me know it was time to say goodbye. You who rarely meowed started to do so more and more frequently. You were eating less and less and choosing not to take your meds. And this morning as we laid in bed you pawed me numerous times so I’d pet you and rubbed your head against me looking for your favorite head rubs. While I was enjoying sone extra quality time with you, having had to take the day off for your vet appointment, unlike me you knew today was the day we’d say goodbye. Me your beloved human thought it was just another vet visit to get fluids for you and to make future decisions which I wouldn’t have wanted to make anymore then, then I did today. The time we spent together waiting in the car and saying our goodbyes in the quiet room at the vet wee some of the most difficult and painful times for me. I cried so much these past few days I’m surprised there’s still tears left to shed. Please know my dear wonderful Autumn Ranger, you will be fur ever loved, missed and like your two sisters and two brothers, will never be forgotten. In yours and Spirit’s memory I will adopt two senior cats, who are in need of a loving fur ever home as you once were but please know that while I’ll give them the same loving care I gave you and Spirit, they will never ever replace either of you. Both you Autumn Ranger and Spirit will furever hold a special place in my heart. Love you Furever. R.I.P. Autumn Ranger and run free with Spirit. Until I see you again when I too cross the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge.
                  😿💔🐾🌈❤️🐾
                  • Suzanne, that is the most touching tribute and truly honors Autumn Ranger and Spirit. Thank you for sharing your experiences and deepest feelings. You must let us know how you are coming along, and when you find two sweethearts to share with. I’m inclined to adopt seniors, too. You might try Fostering – it allows you to get to know each other and find out if you have a special connection. Oh, thank you for extending your kind, caring understanding with others in our community, like Regina. We all hurt when one hurts, and it helps to know we care. Sending you {{HUGS}}. Toni
