Sorry that it seems I only post when I have suffered a loss. Thank you, Toni for your kind words, I know I have said no more cats for me, but Little Bit proved me to be lying to myself. While I am not looking for another cat if God wants me to have another one will find me instead just like that sweet little soul did. I would like to think that in his short time on earth that he knew love. I would have eventually brought him in for good and had him neutered and all of his shots. I am a firm believer in spay and neuter, there are far too many babies that are strays or in shelters. I will be spending the Holidays alone with just Tubby and remembering all my babies who has crossed the bridge. I hope everyone have a Blessed Christmas and a Very Happy New Year filled with love. -

Well my home is just so empty. With just myself and Tubby here we feel so alone. Tubby I think is depressed as she only gets up long enough to eat drink and do her business and get a few pets. I came home one day and to my surprise there was a little black kitten sitting in my walkway. I know I\’ve said no more but my arms reached out for it. I brought it in for alittle while and loved on it then put it back outside to be with it\’s mother. For several days this happened and I found myslef starting to love this kitten that I started calling Little Bit. Unfortunately I went out one morning an found him to have crossed the rainbow bridge sometime overnight. My heart was shattered again. Even though this little sweet black soul did not live long it touched my heart deeply. I have lost so many of my precious babies this year and I do hope 2023 will be better. I Hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.-
Glenda, Oh my gawd, I don’t have words right now, but, while your story is so very tough, it is good to hear from you. I will have more to share tomorrow – this is very moving for me and I need to absorb it. Here is a {HUG} until then my dear. -

Join us Thursday evening, Glenda. You’ll get an email that day with the link. I’m like you in that I think pets come to us, but I also think we need to put ourselves in their path. I met my beloved, departed Beauty Girl when I brought her home for medical fostering. Had I not volunteered for that, I would have missed five glorious years of love and joy we shared. So don’t be shy about putting yourself out there, mentioning to people that you may be open to bringing another love into your home and heart. Let’s see what happens! Absolutely agree about spay and neuter. And Glenda, make the most of this holiday season with Tubby. You are lucky to have each other. Toni

Well, the last 2 months have been horrible. I lost Kissinger in September and then in October my precious Thomas (Flip Flop) passed crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. I am totally devasted. I loved all of my fur babies and the house just seems so empty although I still have Tubby. She stays in the bedroom most of the time, she has a food and water bowl as well and a litterbox in the bathroom. After having a house full of love bugs it just isn’t the same. I know I gave them a long life filled with lots of love, but it just wasn’t long enough for me, another 20 years would still have not been long enough. I have made arrangements for them to be looked after if something was to happen to me but now it is happening to my babies, and I am not prepared. I still have Salt outside and I love him, but I am not sure how many more goodbyes I can handle. Thanks so much for having a website where there are kind and compassionate people. We are truly broken hearted in Mayberry.
-
Glenda, damnit, yes, the pain is so deep, and the emptiness in and around the house is so, so much to bear, but bear it we will because the years of love and joy and life with them is way worth it, do you think? Yes, I know in our heads we know they are “only on loan to us” for too short a time, but by golly, the many heartfelt moments bring such warmth and joy, you wouldn’t have been without them, would you? We are gifted with special pet loves. They are, too. It’s a powerful component to living a full life of love, and sadly, loss, but when we are able and ready, will we open our hearts and homes again? I think so, I hope so. I hope you let yourself remember the wonderful lives you shared, and feel really good about doing that again, Glenda. We are here for, and with you. Talk to and with us, let us be with you as you move through this. I am so sorry and am sending you a {{HUG}}. Toni

it is with a very heavy heart that I write that my beloved Kissinger has passed away. I knew he didn’t act like he felt good on Wednesday. He always had to be touching me in some way wither it be a paw on me or his head on my knee, but Wednesday he laid his little head in my hand and slept. On Thursday morning he passed away and I am completely lost. He was 15 years old but his passing was so sudden, it has caught me off-guard. He is buried next to where I park my car so that he can still greet me when I come home. I know he is with Bubbles, Baby Blessing, Blackbeard and all the rest of my precious sweet kitties that have gone over the Rainbow Bridge. I still have 3 that I have to keep going on for…. Thomas, Tubby and Salt but it sure is hard.
-
Glenda, I’m so very sorry to hear of Kissinger’s passing. I think it’s even tougher when they cross the Rainbow Bridge, unexpectedly. Two consolations to hopefully find in his passing is one, you didn’t have to help make the decision for Kissinger and secondly, he knew it was his time and he did everything he could do in his own sweet way to say good bye to you and try to let you know what an important part of his life you were to him. Holding you and all your fur babies in my prayers.
-
Glenda, I am sending you my heartfelt sympathy. Suzanne says it so eloquently and I share her sentiments. We never have them with us long enough – they are only “on loan” to us – but it is always a deep pain when we say goodbye. Thomas, Tubby and Salt are probably mourning, too, and you are all fortunate to have one another to move through your grief together. Kissinger is at peace now and we know he would want you to find great joy in the years you had together. Please let us know how you are doing, Glenda. {{HUGS}}

Thanks, Toni, for letting me know where to light the candles. I lit a candle with all of my babies’ names. The list was so long, but I know they are just waiting for me. I love and miss them all so much. Much love from Glenda, Kissinger, Thomas, Tubby, Salt and the outdoor gang

Thank you, Toni and Suzanne, for your kind words. I am so happy there is a place where I can share my thoughts and grief without judgment. Kissinger, Thomas and Tubby are all doing well as we adjust to life without Bubbles. I know I said no more and so far, I haven’t brought anymore into my home, but I am currently looking after a Mama cat (NEIGHBORS CAT) and her 3 kittens outside. I feed them 3 times a day, they’re eating now and drinking water plus still nursing. They are growing so quickly, and I am looking for them furever homes. If I have no luck, I guess I will have to keep them until a rescue can take them in. I live in the fictional Mayberry, and we have only one rescue and a kill shelter. I will keep them before I would send for Animal Control, they only keep them for 72 hours. They are so adorable; one is black and the other two are gray like they’re mom. Salt the dad was a cat that another neighbor had, and they moved and left him. He was just a kitten when they… -

My beloved Bubbles. I miss her so much, she lived a long and happy life. Even though we had 17 years together it wasn\’t long enough for me.-
When we love our pets as much as we do, no matter how short or long the time we have with them, the pain of having them cross the Rainbow Bridge, is always intense I believe. Please know I hold you and all others who have lost dearly beloved pets in my thoughts and prayers and pray regularly that all humans and animals when they pass from this world to the next will always be surrounded by loved ones.
-
How are you holding up today, Glenda? I find my thoughts and memories are bringing me smiles, but sometimes the tears just flow. Like Bubbles, my girl was just shy of 18 when we said goodbye in February, and she was quite unwell. So, we know we gave them the best lives we could and now we mourn their passing, and celebrate our lives together. Give little Kissinger extra love – it’s goof for you both. And here is a {{HUG}} for you both. Toni

This is my Kissinger. Always close and touching.-
Kissinger is a sweet looking little cat. I pray you and Kissinger will have many years and memories together as you and Bubbles did. I feel your pain Glenda I had to let my dear sweet Spirit cross the Rainbow Bridge last Monday May 23. I took the day off from work knowing I wouldn’t be good to be around and it was good I did, as I found myself sobbing throughout the day. While I didn’t have my Spirit for as long as you had your Bubbles, I have many found memories of her and her two sisters Saraya 16, and Autumn Ranger 12, who are still with me. One thing I’ve found that helps with the pain is sharing my memories of Spirit and talking about her with others who care and understand, like this wonderful group. Even as I share my thoughts with you, I find myself once again becoming emotional.
-
Suzanne, I said goodbye to my Beauty Girl February 24th and still feel deep grief and sob from time to time. She was sick and 18 years old, and it is so good to know she is at peace, but it takes as long as it takes to fully heal. We’ll always remember them, and love them, but it takes time for the empty feelings to be replaced by only joy. Let yourself express your feelings – I always think grief shared is grief halved, joy shared is joy doubled. Kissinger is mourning too, and you are both lucky to be there for each other. What a cutie he is! Would you like to join us June 7th at 7 EST on Zoom? If so, I’ll send you an invitation to log on. Let me know. Toni

By the way, I meant the comment about Kissinger for Glenda, who is part of our conversation 🙂

Thanks so much for your kind words and the Hug, sure can use both. Sorry it’s been so long since I responded. I am adjusting to Bubbles not being here as is Kissinger. He never leaves my side and if Thomas should lay down next to me Kissinger crawls on top of him, so he can be touching me. Tubby isn’t close to anyone, she is very independent and prefers to stay to herself, though she loves to be snuggled, it’s when she wants to. I have been feeding a neighbor’s cat since they quit feeding it, it will not let me touch it and it runs until I have gotten back inside. Well, the other day I went out for the morning feeding and to my surprise, there was 3 kittens. I was excited and upset at the same time. I picked up one of them and it bit me, they have razor sharp little teeth so now I know I have 3 more mouths to feed, until I can find them a good home. They are adorable and I can remember a time when I would have said they had found their furever home but not now. I live in a small town, and we have one rescue, and they are full and not accepting anymore cats so that is not an option. Hopefully I will be able to post this without using any words deemed inappropriate this time. Wish me luck in finding the new babies a home and I will keep you posted. Thanks again for providing such a wonder site that lets people share their love of animals. They are family too. Always, Glenda -

Yes, I have 3 more cats, Kissinger, Thomas and Tubby. Kissinger is 14, Thomas 11 and Tubby is 9. Kissinger and Bubbles were very close, and he still acts like he is looking for her, they have been a major comfort to me. Thomas has taken up door duty, he is always waiting when I open the door now and we are trying to adjust, it is extremely hard to do after so many years. I have said that after they are gone, I don’t want any more but can’t imagine life without a cat, it would be very lonely with a fur baby. Just after losing so many, I just don’t know if I can or want to go through this loss anymore. It is a shame that we only have so long with them, but at the same time I worry what would happen to them should something happen to me. I have always loved all animals but especially cats, I have always had a cat in my life and the oldest one was a solid white cat named Lucky she lived to be 21 years old and at one time I had as many as 15 so I have gone through a lot of hurt, but it is something you never get used too. So sorry for your loss and I hope your surgery was a success. and you have recovered. Please take care of yourself and stay safe. Thank you again for your kind words of comfort and providing a site where everyone can post their love for their fur babies. Always, Glenda -

It’s been a while since I have been here, but I always read the newsletter you send. Yesterday my beloved Bubbles passed away. After 17 years of being together, I am lost. She never acted sick or like she was in pain. She was always running from one end of the house to another, jumping up the air and turning around. I always said she acted more like a kitten than a17 year cat. She loved to eat…pickles, onions, tomatoes plus her regular cat food. My cats have never tried to steal food from me but if something fell in the floor Bubbles would have it eaten before it hit. It will take a while before I get used to her not being here. She was always waiting for me when I opened the door and would look at me lovingly when I kissed her bye on the way out. I am deeply heartbroken.

Glenda, it’s so hard to read this because I said goodbye to my girl in February (she was almost 18) and there is such an emptiness after so many wonderful times together. It’s a shame our pets are only “on loan” to us but in your head you know she lived a full life – in you heart there is never enough time together. Do you have other cats with you now? If so, I hope they are helping you, and you are helping them through their grief, too. Bubbles was fortunate to be healthy and not suffering. And you are fortunate to have such a special love. It hurts from a place deep within, and it takes time for the happy memories to supersede the pain of parting, but you will find smiles before tears. It’s cute that she liked vegetables – my dad always said “we like vegetables, why wouldn’t they?”. It’s heartbreaking to come home and not have her there to greet you. – my girl was always there and gave me loving when I came in. That’s a hard blow and I am just so sorry you are going through this. But, we are here for you and want to hear from you soon and often to let us know how you are coming along. (I had a minor surgery this week and couldn’t respond to you sooner, but will now when you next write). Know I am thinking of you. Toni

Glenda, are you feeling a bit better? How is Kissinger doing now? You don’t have to anticipate the future of your “cat life” right now. I certainly understand not wanting to go through the terrible pain of loss, and at some point as we age, we have to decide if it’s fair to a pet for us to bring them into our homes. You’ll see how you feel when the time comes, which I hope is a long time from now. Let us know how you all are doing. Here’s a {{HUG}} for you all. Toni

Glenda, 1. Our tech guy fixed the thing that was giving you trouble – it wasn’t you or what you said, it was something in our system. Sorry about that 🙁
2. Shelters everywhere are overly full now and it’s just a desperate situation, so if you can keep the kittens and mother for awhile, you are an angel. To find more shelters, go the link below and enter your area, use the drop-down menu and click Animal Rescues & Shelters, or other pertinent areas. Maybe you can find a place to help. And some pet stores will let you present the kittens for adoption. Here’s the link:It’s been a while since I have been here, but I always read the newsletter you send. 3. I understand how you feel about Bubbles, having said goodbye to my beloved on Feb. 24th. But, thank goodness you have the others, and they you -what a difference it makes to have them in your world. I was taking care of Boots, a 1 1/2 year old (scroll through the posts and you can see some of his fun photos), and he went back to his lady this week. I cried for five nights and my home is empty. But, I am hoping he is happy and healthy, and am grateful for the healing he brought me. So Glenda, let yourself feel your grief for Bubbles, and treasure the time you have with your other faithful friends. And thank you for your update. Our community is here for us to share our happy, and sad times, and it means everything to hear from you. By the way, would you be interested in a video group visit once a month or so, to share stories and support? Let us know. I’m thinking of you all, with warm wishes. Toni

Merry Christmas Everyone. It’s been a while since I have posted anything. I’m an animal lover, from dogs, cats, rabbits to elephants. I love them all!! But I tend to love cats the most, at one time having as many as 15. They have all been loved and spoiled rotten and lived a good life. So many of them have gone over the Rainbow Bridge that I only have 4 left. My Beloved Possum passed away the other day after being a faithful friend and companion for 14 years. I started missing her before she took her last breath. She will always have a special place in my heart and my mind. I love you. Rest Easy my Friend.
-
Oh Glenda, how nice to hear from you again. And I am so sorry for your parting from Possum. You have loved and lost so many – Baby Blessing, Blackbeard, Company, ,Lucky, Winkin, Diablo, Pookie, Coon, Smokey, Miss Pepper, Kissingner, Bubbles, Tubby,, Thomas and Salt . And you are still a hero for keeping your heart and home open to LOVE even though we know we have to say goodbye sometime. Are any of them still with you? Who do you share love with now? What a sad thing it is, to lose a
beloved friend, especially during the holiday season. Glenda, if you like, please share some pictures and stories with us. And know we care, and are here for you. Sending you my best thoughts and wishes. Toni -
Merry Christmas, Glenda!

Glenda, I am right there with you…They do seem to find us, and we, them. I like being a “Cat Lady”, and any kind of animal person :-)..
The pain of loss is deep, and I know some people who won’t have another pet because they don’t want to suffer that pain again, yet many others of us welcome the chance to love, and be loved by, another (and another) furry friend. We created Faithful Friends to be a safe place to seek or lend support, and if you like, please extend your kind words to others in our community who need some support during such a tough time. I look forward to hearing more of your stories. Thank you for being a part of us. Toni

But I still have Kissingner, Bubbles, Tubby, Possum, Thomas and Salt to love everyday. I guess you could say I am a crazy cat lady.-
