So sorry for you loss. It is heartbreaking 💔 you did all you could possibly do for Tipper. You’ve been through a lot of grief over the last several years. You sound like an amazing, loving and kind person. I don’t know what is worse; watching them fail over years dealing with illness ans suffering or watching them just suddenly die not knowing why. That’s what happened to me with my boy, Romeo recently. Yes, he was 14.5, but, he was still going strong and a healthy boy for his age (said his Vet). I knew he was aging, but,6 I thought I would have more time with him to give him the last best days of his life before I would help him over the Rainbow Bridge by holding his hand and kissing and loving on him and telling him how much I loved him and what a good boy he is and out of all….thank him for coming into my life and saving me. But, no matter how they pass, in the end, they leave us with shattered hearts 💔

I dont know who I am posting this to, but, I hope it gets to both Sigrid and Toni.Sigrid, thank you so much for reaching out to me. I am trying my best to work through all of this horrible pain. Romeo was the best boy and I am so lost without him. 💔
Your advice to me was very helpful and maybe you are right about Romeo sending me a gift. Although, I can’t grasp the idea totally because I dont understand why he would want me to be in such pain. But, I do know he wouldn’t want me to be. I thank you for helping me to see things in a different way. I am so raw right now and want all this heartache to stop. 💔Toni Noel, thank you for your kind words to me. I don’t feel like I deserve to be kind to myself because at his last moments, I was in a complete panic. I didnt know Romeo was dying, I thought he was just not feeling well. when I picked him up he cried out and his eyes looked dizzy and he couldnt hold up his little head so I laid him on my bed to comfort him. I was stroking him and talking to him and telling him it’s gonna be okay , but,I think he was already gone. I didn’t know he was dying and I blame myself for not realizing that and try to save him by doing something. I should have done something. I never got the chance to tell him all the things I needed to tell him. It’s all such a nightmare.

Hi, I haven\’t commented here since my first one and I was very thankful for your response. Unfortunately, I am still in a bad place over losing my Romeo. I wake up and cry every day. I relive that morning over and over again. I am so depressed and nothing is helping me to climb out of this dark place I\’m in. I hate feeling this way and I\’m trying to get better, but, this trauma has only been bringing out many things from my past that have happened which I have been suppressing for many, many year I still isolate and I don\’t think of the future at all. I just get up and go through the motions of each day and that\’s it. I just wish I could go back in time and hold my boy and kiss him and cuddle him once more, but,I know that\’s not possible.
I\’m tired of this pain and I wish this was all a dream.
Thank you for letting me speak about my heartache. 💔

I recently lost my Romeo and I am so broken. It happened so suddenly and I didn\’t even have a chance to do anything or even say goodbye. It was a normal morning. He woke up his tail was wagging as usual, smiling and happy. I cuddled him and then let him out to peeand he came back I. And went straight to his bowl to eat as I stood thereunder made my coffee. We always just went right into our bedroom to settle in, watch the news and he would come over to get a taste of my coffee too. But, not this day. As I walked in he was just standing there staring and I said \”Boobah, c\’mon baby, let\’s go\”. He didn\’t move and as I passed him I saw that he peed. I thought he just had a little accident and I said \” what happened baby, you just went out, did you have an accident\”? He never did that so I looked at him, and he didn\’t look right. I got scared and picked him up and just started to panic and kept asking him what was wrong….he let out the most pitiful cry and then I saw him losi g co trol of his little head and his eyes were rolling around . I put him on our bed and started crying and hugging him and then he pooped. I knew what that meant, but, I couldn\’t think that he would be dead, but, he was. All this in a matter of seconds. I screamed and cried and I couldn\’t believe that he was dead. He was just fine seconds ago and now he\’s gone? No, no, no….please God no. I was numb and out of my mind and panicky and picked him up and ran across the street to my brothers house screaming that Romeo was dying, but, he was already gone and my brother knew it it was just me who couldnt believe it. 💔
Romeo was 14 and very healthy for his age according to his Vet who we had just seen. He said Romeos blood work was great and he\’s probably be around for a while longer. So, I never even gave it thought that Romeo was dying in that moment. I don\’t know what caused him to die. I never had a chance to say goodbye. My heart is shattered. Romeo was my whole world and he saved me by coming into my life when I did t want to live anymore. I never loved anything as much as I loved my boy and I don\’t want to be in a world without him. I don\’t care if I ever wake up again. I\’ve been trying to overcome this horrible pain, but, I have lost my will, to do anything. I don\’t want to go anywhere, see or talk to anyone and just want to be alone. I\’ve been part of a few of these grief groups and although it does help to give and receive comfort from people going through the same thing, my grief still overwhelms me. Thank you for listening and I wish everyone here on this site peace and comfort for healing of your broken hearts. 💔-
Maureen, nothing I say can change your grief but I hope it helps a bit to know how sad I am for your sudden and shocking loss. It seems Romeo didn’t suffer a long, lingering passing, and that is something to be grateful for, for his sake. It’s truly a heartbreak that our beloved friends are only on loan to us, never for long enough – forever wouldn’t be long enough. I agree it helps to talk and receive support and kind understanding, and I hope you will try our group April 20th. Your lethargy and desire to be alone are things I have exoerienced, too. People want to be helpful but I just wanted to be alone for awhile. It may benefit you to write a letter of love and joy to Romeo, and we have a journal/book that may help you : https://www.faithfulfriends.com/shop/griffins-heart-pet-loss-book/
Please accept my sympathy and a {{HUG}}. And know we are here for you.
💔 Toni
