Remember 4 years, 10 months agoIn memory of our little Alex (Mr. Alexander B) He was a joy during his 11 years with us. We loved him like our own child and will miss him forever.
-
Oh, I am so sorry, Jeanette. Alex WAS your child – that’s one of the reasons it hurts from so deep within when we say goodbye. They are dependent on us (and we them), they are probably nicer than other types of children :-), and we can share secrets and feelings we wouldn’t share with anyone else. It’s very painful to part. But, in our heads we know they are only on loan to us and we wouldn’t give up the time of loving and joy we shared. His ears are so adorable. He is so adorable. Thank you for sharing the charming pictures, and feel welcome to send more. And please feel welcome to continue to share your feelings – we understand and are here for you. I hope you find smile with your memories. Hugs. Toni
-
Thank you very much for your kind words and support. Alex has been gone for nearly 20 years but we miss him and still reminisce our time with him. We loved him so much and it truly hurt to let him go. We thought we could never have another fur baby until 3 years ago when we decided to get a puppy. He’s such a joy and makes us laugh daily. His character and temperament are different but we didn’t expect him to be the same as Alex. We love him like a child and he has brought closure to us. He will be 3 years old on September 25th. He’s our little baby.
-
Mr. Bojangles: “After twenty years he still grieved”. I totally get it because my sister’s most wonderful boy died over 20 years ago, and while she would love to share the joy and love of another, she just can’t face the pain of parting. It’s such an individual situation and accommodation, and capacity, that you never know – one day a sweet little thing will come into your path, and Boom! there ya’ go again – into a loving, fun relationship to treasure. All of my loves are still with me in my thoughts and memories, and spirit, and I am joyful for my current old girl – she’s really filled me up (and is sitting here with me right now). So, I am sorry for your loss, and happy for your gift of sharing again. Thank you for sharing with us. If you read other posts here in our community that move you to share, I hope you will. And….we want to see pictures and hear stories about your lives together !! 🙂
-
Thank you for sharing. My current fur baby has, recently, turned 3 years old. He’s so special to me. We’re so happy to have him in our lives.

Remember 4 years, 10 months agoMissing my girl Mama Dog. I loved and still do this sweet baby girl. She was with me for 12 years and she had a heart of gold.-
Raymond – may I say you both have the same expression in this picture :-)? Too sweet. Thank you for sharing this with us. It’s so terribly painful to part, isn’t it? Mama Dog was always there for you, no complaints, and just loved being with you…I have a few tears just thinking of how you must feel now. Doggone it – it’s so sad our beloved pets are only “on loan” to us. I don’t know what I can say to help you other than that, with your words and photo, you have touched me, and I am sure others in our caring community. I’ll be thinking of you, and hope you will share more pictures and stories about your life with Mama Dog, and if you want, send your own support to others who are grieving here. I am sending you my best, and hugs…….

I’m so sorry for your loss. I know it hurts. It’s been a long time since we lost our pup, Alex. We will never forget him. He was a good little boy.

Remember 5 years, 2 months agoMy Hansi We lost him Dec 31st, 2020-
Maria-Catharina, Thank you for sharing your darling Hansi with us. Yep, you are right acknowledging it was best for him to peacefully pass, but darn it’s so, so hard to say goodbye. I am so sorry. His face is so sweet, and his personality really comes through. But, you wouldn’t want him to endure suffering, and he wants you to enjoy your life knowing he was, and is, an important part of your happiness. Please let us know how you are doing. Hugs….

Remember 5 years, 2 months agoMy sweet precious MuShu (14) walked over the Rainbow Bridge on April 14th. My heart is crushed 💔😭 Two years ago she got mammary gland cancer and I opted for surgery hoping it would give her many more years with me but it came back with a vengeance and took her precious life away. My life is forever changed for having that beautiful little girl in my life. She was my child and I will miss her every single day until I see her and my other cat TIGGER in Heaven.-
Oh Patty, yes, heartbroken, deep grief and sadness…..May I say that you did the very best for and by MuShu, and you can bet she knew everything you did was for her best, and from love. None of us get to stay in our bodies forever – but they stay in our hearts forever. Gosh, she was a beauty. Those eyes! I am sad and teary knowing she isn’t with you now. But Patty, you are a wonderful “cat mom” and MuShu wamts you to go forth and enjoy the rest of your life, one day perhaps open your home and heart to another love. Thank you for sharing your story and pictures. Please stay an active member of our caring community. Others need your kind words of understanding and support. And, we are here to support YOU as you move through this extremely difficult time. Hugs to you. Toni
-
Thank you so very much Toni for such kind words! I truly appreciate your beautiful message. I hope someday I can open my heart up to another precious fur baby that’s needs as much love as I do. Thank you again and may God forever bless you ♥️

Remember 5 years, 2 months agoThe 10th anniversary is coming up for my Tanner crossing the Rainbow Bridge. I’ve lost other furbabies, but this one knocked me into a severe depression. He crawled into mu lap looked at me with the “I love you mom.”, got comfortable on my lap and took his last breath. I wish I had some pics of him. : (
-
Cherie, Oh my how sweet and sad.,,,,I know exactly what you mean, and I think we all can admit that there are some loves that are deeper, stronger, more “connected” than others with our pets. We love them all, but there are special relationships with our furry friends, just as with our people friends – right? Some with whom we connect and resonate in a different, communicative way. Know what I mean?

This is my baby girl, Abbie ❤️
-
What a sweet girl, Teresa. When we’ve been together so long, through so many life events together, the loss of their company and love IS so very hard. Her face is kind, and she sort of looks like a lion in this picture ! May we see some more photos, please? I am truly saddened and sorry for your parting. And happy for the many years you enjoyed together. Stay with us and let us know how you are doing, Teresa.

Remember 5 years, 3 months agoWell, since Jolie went to rainbow bridge(July 22, 2020) it was extremely lonely around here. My wife thinks I may have been suffering depression since our girl passed on. I have been retired since 2012. And Jolie has been our companion since that time. We rescued her from my brother in law who thought that his cigarettes and booze was more important than Jolie\’s health and well-being. When he went into NYC housing he was not allowed to bring Jolie. So we took ownership. We had to lay out over $3k in dental and shots and health. The vet said that had we not taken ownership Jolie would have certainly died within months!! Jolie was my constant companion and we had fun. Kidney and liver problems began their attack a year before they took her. I could see her health dwindling and when it came time to let her go I COULD NOT. I probably caused her suffering. I WAS SELFISH!! I couldnt let her go. But a week before we put her down it became obvious that we had to put her down(My eyes are still welling up even now!!! We say goodnight to her every single night since she passed.
BUT HAPPINESS FOUND US ON DECMBER 9, 2020!!! A breeder friend had an 8 year old schnauzer that she was giving away free. She thought of us and brought LIBBY(a mini schnauzer) by and we took ownership of LIBBY. She was an AKC champion for many years and had many pups that became champions. She has taken to us and we have taken to her. She just recently started sleeping in our bed. she has the cutest and funny bark-heave-bark. She wont take place of Jolie but she has become a loving family member. A JOY TO HAVE AROUND and keep me company!!!
I do not have any of Libby\’s pics on my office computer. I probably have 1000s on my phone. I will send one when I transfer them here.
BUT THANK GOD for Libby!!!! Jolie sent a beautiful pet to replace her in our home!!!-
I am SO happy for you and Libby. You are the opposite of selfish – you keep your heart and home open for new life and love. There is never an easy way or time to say goodbye and you did your loving best for Jolie. My old girl (cat) has been living with a progressive inflammatory disease, has high blood pressure and hyper-thyroidism. Twice, I thought it was time to part and both times the doctor said no, she has some good time left in her, which she has :-). So I know, and we all know, it can be very difficult to tell when letting them go is truly their time. It’s always a decision made from love. When you get around to sharing pictures of Libby, we love seeing them. Stay in touch and let us know what you and Libby get up to!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I know the heartache is unbearable. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
-
What a pretty girl and I completely feel your pain. Will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I’ve cried every day 😢
-
Had to put her to sleep. She had seizures. Meds didnt help. Four or five a day. Couldn’t stand to see her suffer
-
I understand. My shepherd/Akita started having seizures. I called our vet and she met us at her office. She said, Karen you know it’s time (I’d been putting it off). I’m truly sorry for your loss but I know in my heart your baby will be waiting for you.

Michele, these date markers bring strong emotions. I hope you allow your feelings to flow through you, hard as they are. I suspect that, as wrenching as the pain is, the loving times you shared, you wouldn’t trade. Tomorrow, will you please touch base with us, as often as you need, and let us know how you are. We are here for you. Sending HUGS

It’s been an agonizing 3 weeks since I had to say goodbye to my boy. He was the longest relationship I ever had and I miss him terribly, although I always feel him near. Just taking it day by day😥
-
Yes, that’s what we do – limp along each day and feel their presence. Michele, let us know how you are coming along. Hugs…

I’m so sorry for your loss. I still miss all my pets from when i was a little girl. But I have the memories and the smiles they bring. I know its hard, but there is another little one waiting on your love somewhere!
-
Ellen, I thought I was looking at my girl – Lizzie looks just like her! Even looking at her tail the way mine does. I am very sad for you and Angelina. It hasn’t been very long since you parted and it takes time for the tears to stop, and the smiles to take over. Please let us know how you are coming along. Hugs, Toni

We were together 11 yrs. I got him as a stray on my birthday. He was so cute. I found his markings and long curly hair very cute and handsome.

Remember 5 years, 5 months agoI just lost my cat Spud a few days ago. He was 15 yes old, someone ran over him with their car. I am just lost without him. I had him cremated, I picked up his ashes today 😭
-
I am so sorry Cindy. I too lost a cat years ago that was hit by a car. I have found comfort in doing things in memory of my lost pets. Make a memorial garden or start a journal. You are in my thoughts.
-
Oh Cindy, I am so sorry, too. My nine month old kitten was hit and killed years ago. It’s just shocking in it’s suddenness and all you can do is cry and feel guilty and angry, and get through it with support and love. We are all so so sad and sorry for you both. I love the name-Spud. If you want a special way to keep Spud near you, check out the Forever in Glass hand blown pendants in our shop. Henry Duquette will create a beautiful glass piece in the color you select. I have one and they are lovely and comforting. Please Cindy, stay with us here and let us know how you are coming along. We are thinking of you. HUGS.
