    Baby doll
    • Jill posted an update 2 years, 4 months ago

I have lost 1 more fur babies since I posted last. Have lost Gizmos sister baby doll. But have gained 3 more babies. Baby doll was the last of of Gizmos and baby doll mom litter. I have become in a massive depression since Gizmo and losing baby doll has made it even worse. Just wanted to post

      • Jill, I am sorry💔I remember that you lost Gizmo and didn’t know what happened, which makes goodbye even harder. Do you know what happened with Baby Doll? How old was she? I can’t speak to other issues that are affecting you, but can say being depressed after losing a beloved pet, now two, can be a tremendous emotional drain. I hope the three little ones are helping you to find the joy Gizmo and Baby Doll shared with you. Keep us updated. {HUGS} Toni

Hi I sorry I haven’t been on here much I just wanted to say that I have gotten by a whole year without Gizmo. Her birthday was July 4th and I was so depressed. I still miss her so much. As I said before she was my baby girl. I still have her sister Babydoll. I am so miserable without Gizmo. Of course my new lil one helps a lot. Just want Gizmo back still 😪. I will check in periodically. Thank you Toni for all of your support.

              Hello
It’s not a while. Things are going well as expected. I think about my Gizmo a lot can’t get her out of my mind. I have had 3 counseling session’s not much from that yet. I have come up with my own diagnosis I think since I saw how she was going right in front of me. I will never find out how or why she passed. And that will haunt me till the end of my life. I want to know why and how. That is why I can’t let go of her. People still tell me to move on. I’m working on it. People just don’t see that.
              Thanks Toni.

              • Jill, Gizmo has only been gone since March, right? That’s not a long time for healing and I hope you will go easy on yourself. She was such a part of you and your life, your dearest friend in so many ways, I don’t find it unusual that you are still actively grieving. If you have been reading the comments of other community members here, you know some have had their beloveds pass unexpectedly, some in their sleep for no known reason, some shot….It’s one thing to have an old, ailing pet, and while it’s just heartbreaking to say goodbye and we grieve the loss, it’s understandable. But to lose them for no seeming reason leaves questions for us. Maybe those will never be resolved. Please share your feelings and thoughts here among friends who truly understand and care. I hope that helps you. I am sending you more HUGS. Toni

                How much is it?
                  • Only $27.99. Free shipping if you order from our website. Please know, and I think you do, I’m not trying to promote it, but I do think it provides a useful process to help heal. It is a very private place to be very honest about your feelings, including anger or guilt, and is heartfully written. Let me know if you get one and how it helps you. My cat is 17 and still with us, but I have found going through the book in anticipation of her passing (she has a number of health challenges) is helping me prepare for our eventual goodbye. Here is another HUG for you.

                      Hi Toni,
My kids have been keeping me busy which helps me keep my mind off Gizmo. I have also found some counseling. Hopefully this will help me get some closure. I’m thinking more on the not side. But as I keep saying to people that Gizmo is,was the only being that knew me inside and out. Thought I tell what is going on. I still am so distraught over her death. I still think she wasn’t supposed to die. Thank you Toni for EVERYTHING! You and this site has helped me in many ways.

                      • I am so glad you are with our caring community. We understand. You can tell us anything and we will support you. Counseling can help and I hope you let us know how that is going. You might find the book “Griffin’s Heart” a useful tool to help move through your healing. My Paw’d Cast interview with the author, Reagan J. Pasternak, will be released soon and can be listened to by clicking the microphone icon on the upper right side of this page. The book is in our Shop. Were your children close to Gizmo? Are they handling it okay? Let us know how you are doing, Jill. Hugs
                        • Jill, we JUST published my Paw’d Cast with Reagan – “Griffin’s Heart” – if you want to listen to that. I think her book may be a helpful tool for you. Toni

Hi. I’m sorry for not responding earlier but I am trying to keep busy. Which is not helping me. I have people so dumbfounded on why are you (me) so distressed over a cat. I just want to smack everyone who says that I just go hide. I miss her so much 😢😔
                                • Jill, no one in this community will ever question your pain, nor the length of time it takes to move through it. We have a book to help heal – “Griffin’s Heart” ($27.99). It was written by Reagan J. Pasternak (you may know her from her acting career) and Reagan had a very close love with her cat Griffin. She wrote the book to help herself heal and is making it available to our community. It’s in our Shop if you want to try that. We’ll be releasing a Paw’d Cast with Reagan soon. Jill, stay with us – we are here for you. Here’s a HUG. Toni

From what I think I know that there is nothing anyone can do for me or anyone else who is grieving we just have to go through it. Let time ease the pain won’t heal it but may or may not ease the pain. What I want is what I can not have again till the end of time is Gizmo back. I REALLY do appreciate you and the others checking in on me. Please don’t give up on me. Thank you Thank you.

Having a really hard day today. Keep thinking of Gizmo so much 😪😢I just miss her so very much. Keep seeing her in the carrier the day she died and I couldn’t save her 💔. My heart goes out to her and she is not there. I’m just really having a hard time knowing she’s gone 😪

                                    • I’m sorry 😔 for Gizmo’s passing.Bless her soul and you for your love and how you cared for her,and for your soul to heal🙏
                                      • Jill, recently someone said to me “I don’t want to finish grieving yet”. I think that is brilliant – give ourselves permission to be in our grief as long as we want and need to be. You have to go straight through the depths of aching sadness to emerge from such a strong loss. There is no set timeline for our grieving processes, and even way out in the future sometimes a little thing will conjure tears. I think creating a memorial will help you. It can be a box of favorite toys, a collection of photos, or you can create a memorial tribute here in our “Memorials” tab. That gives you a place to go and just be in your memories and feelings. You can add to it any time and visit as often as you like. And Jill, if it was you who passed, wouldn’t you tell Gizmo to go live a happy life? I know she wishes that for you. We’re here to help you. What can we do for you?
                                          • From what I think I know that there is nothing anyone can do for me or anyone else who is grieving we just have to go through it. @bobbi so so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through. I lost my best friend Gizmo. My baby girl. She knew me so well as I did her. Don’t let people tell you that you lost just a pet. They are not pets They are family. As you children. My condolences.

                                                • Jill, You should post a tribute on our Memorials area. That gives you a dedicated place to add your memories and thoughts as they come up to free space for Bella and the happier things in your life. It’s like a “worry box” where you store concerns and can visit when you choose, only it is a celebration, too. Pictures are easy – even I can do it and I’m not terribly good at that kind of thing: there is a camera icon that says photo in the lower left of the “Comment” box. You simply click that and select your photos from your files. Let me know if you need help with it. Or anything else.
                                                  • Will do

I still can’t stop crying. I know that I eventually have to go on. I just don’t want to let go of Gizmo. I’m really having trouble dealing with her death. Love her so much

                                                        • Jill, there is no timeline for grieving and healing. We understand how deep the pain is and, like a wound, the deeper the cut the longer the healing. We have a grief counselor you can contact if you like, and a book about grief in our shop if you think either of those would be helpful. Let me know, and stay with us and let us know how you are. It’s very kind of you to share your support with others.

Thank you. I don’t care who says that pets are not family I know they are. I wasn’t ready to get another kitten but I was thinking of Babydoll Gizmos sister. I didn’t want her to go and be lost and hide somewhere and die. So we found Bella. Lil stinker in more ways than one.

                                                                • No, Jill, you know your tears come from a place deep within and it’s not a choice – it’s strong emotion. Dramatic? Yeah, okay, it is, but it’s not made up. it’s real. Real drama stems from deep emotion. So go ahead and move through your feelings. We get it – we’re here for you, Jill.
