Penny, how was today for you? A bit better I hope. Mardi is so comfortable now, and you did a good, loving thing for her. ❤️

Maureen and Brony: I think it is Brilliant that you have ‘partnered’ to support each other as we journey forth. I hope others here in our Community find a partner, or feel that we are ALL partnered. Brilliant!

Leigh, I am so sorry. Yes, there are so many “firsts” after we say goodbye. Each one brings up memories and can stir grief all over again. I hope you can pull up some of the good and fun memories of your fifteen summers, too. It woud be a shame not to, do you think? Toni

Last night it hit me ,the first summer of no longer having Sammi
Watching her role around in the sun or going for adventures
          I miss her 😢

            • I do think of all the good times we had together
              Our adventures
              Lately Sunday cuddles
              Etc
Just times I wish she was still jere

How nice of you, Veronica. Thank you. We are here because we understand the pain of parting and want to help one another heal and recover the joy and love we shared. I am sorry for your loss of Oakli and invite you to tell us about Oakli, and share some pictures with us if you like. We meet online the third Thursday of each month (the schedule and links are under “Events”) and you are most welcome to join us. How are you doing – okay? Toni

Brony, hello! So far today, I’m okay. Yesterday, I had difficult times throughout the day. Thank you for thinking about me and I hope you are doing okay too. Yes, we have a pact and I am trying and I know you are too. I am having a very difficult time, but, I know time is what I need. Sending hugs 🫂

Penny don’t feel alone. I was vacuuming this morning and found Lulu’s whisker. I was a mess all over again. I understand. I miss her tremendously. I have cried everyday for two weeks now. I really wish my heart would start healing. I can’t think of good times with her cause my smile isn’t around yet. At least you don’t have to worry about things getting out, it’s the bugs and lizards that will find their way in. Hear them? Nanananana. Keep your chin up.

my eyes keep leaking this morning when there is no litter box to clean out and no little furry body telling me it’s time to feed her.. i know this will pass; it’s just that i miss her sooooooooo much right now .. at least i don’t have to worry about her escaping each time i open a door to the outside!

I stand behind everything I say. Our babies want to feel our joy, not our sadness. Chin up.

Hi Sigrid, thank you for your kind response. Brony was nice to suggest we make a pact to be happy and go on living our lives because our babies wouldn’t want us to be unhappy. I wouldn’t ever want my boy to be sad because of me and so I will try my best to do just that. I lived my life for him and his happiness and I hope he died knowing that. Sending love to you, Maureen

Thank you, I cried as wrote the post. Also cried last night. There are times Mae triggers memories, because she will do something that Raina would do, it’s getting better but sometimes it still makes me cry. Mae will try to comfort me having no idea that something she did was the trigger for a memory.

@mardismom Penny, you gave Mardi the most loving, generous and selfless gift you could – a peaceful passing in your loving arms. You made sure she didn’t needlessly suffer and I am so happy you will always know how kind that was. Now for the pain of parting, the quiet, empty house, no cat food on the floor to trip over…. I hope you find comfort and JOY in your memories of the fun, funny loving times you and Mardi shared. We’re here for you, with you, with deep sympathy and understanding. 💔💔Toni

Amber, what a beautiful photo of Sara! You have come to the right place to talk about her, about your long – and too short – life together. All of us had our hearts broken because we loved deeply. And to learn that broken hearts can heal and love again. But one day at a time. I would love to hear more about her – she looks like she was a lively pack of energy. She’s with you still, right there in your heart. Sending good wishes!
