Unfortunately Jake passed away. My boyfriend passed away on Thanksgiving, and I took in his 13 yr old Golden Retriever, She seemed healthy to me. but that started to change in Feb. The vet said he has hemangiosarcoma, an gave him 2 wks to 3 months. He went downhill fast and 3 weeks later passed away. I felt like I lost my connection to my boyfriend, and hit with 3 loses so close together. Thanks for listening to my saga

My boyfriend passes away on 2 months ago, I took in his 13 year old golden lab.. Just a great all around dog. He did great for a month , then loss his appetite and had diarrhea, I thought he was missing his owner, but found out he as hemaniosarcoma. I am so depressed. The vet said 2 wks to 2 months. I can see he is deteriorating fast. I am up all nite checking on him , and making sure he is OK. Mentally taking a toll.

Leslie,
I’m so very sorry to hear about your boyfriend’s passing and now you face the pending loss of his beloved dog. The waiting and worrying is almost worse, at least for me, than the actual having to say goodbye bye to my beloved fur babies. I’ve been on that emotional roller coaster way too much over this past year and deeply feel your pain. Holding you and your dog in prayer and praying that you may feel God’s loving healing embrace. -
Leslie, I’m so sorry for your loss 💔 I’m also sorry to hear you might be losing his dog also. Sending you comforting hugs at this sad time.

It’s been 2 years that I lost my 15 yr old Lab, Tanner. It hasnt gotten any easier

Leslie, I am sorry for your pain. Grief has no timeline, and I think there is akways a sadness when we think of our beloved babies, even years later when our memories bring us joy. It is not a betrayal to smile and laugh with our memories of the fun, funny, loving times we were lucky to share. Quite the opposite – we honor our pets when we recall the wonderful lives we shared. When you die, do you want people to be happy for having had you in their lives? I do, and I think our babies do, too. Leslie, perhaps you could write to Tanner, telling her your feelings, and write TO you FROM Tanner with what you think she would want you to know about her life with you. I suspect she wants you to be happy for the times you shared. Please let us know how you are coming along, Leslie. I am sending you {{BIG HUGS}} Toni

I’m so sorry for your loss and your pain. I lost my boy 2 years ago too, and although my grief has softened, I am still lost without him. I certainly understand how you feel.
Sending you warm thoughts and comforting hugs 💔

It’s been one year since my Dog Tanner 15yr old black lab crossed the rainbow bridge. It has gotten a little better, but not a day goes by that I dont think of her. Some memories bring tears, and some bring smiles. I miss her so much

I think it is a long process with losing a furbaby…Its been 7 months since my girl June crossed the rainbow bridge…I miss her too…Sending good thoughts to you and hugs too…Tanner is watching you I bet….

Leslie, Christina, I am so glad you are supporting each other as you mourn Tanner and June. That’s what our community is all about – sharing. Grief is not linear: it flows up, down, in and out. Some things trigger fun, funny and fabulous memories of the lives we were so fortunate to share, and sometimes a glance down the pet food aisle will bring you to tears. It is all part of loving, and losing. The deeper the love, the stronger the joy, and grief. Please try to bring forth the happy times, and allow yourselves to feel and embrace the sorrow. And please join our group February 15th – I really think you will find comfort and support with us. Here are {{BIG HUGS}} to you both. Toni

Tanner my 15yr old Lab went to Heaven 1 week ago today, wouldnt eat, unable to walk that day, and had 4 seizures during the nite. It was time to let her go. It is so quiet in the house, and so lonely. I think I still hear her at nite. So hard.
-
Isn’t is awful, Leslie, how empty and quiet the house is? It’s not unusual to “hear” or “see” your beloved Tanner. How did that make you feel – scared, or happy? Something else? Even knowing she was failing and that you helped her find comfort and peace, they are never with us as long as we’d like. I hope you find memories of the many happy times you shared bring you joy and comfort of your own. Please join our group meeting Thursday Feb. 16th to tell us about Tanner. An email with details will be sent next week. And please know I am very sorry for your loss. Toni
