Hi Christine, and welcome to our caring community. I am very sorry for your parting from Luis. We know how deep the pain is and are here to share our support and understanding. We are long-time supporters of Canine Companions for Independence (CCI.org) and you can listen to our “Paw’d Cast” with them by clicking the purple microphone icon at the top right of this page under “Follow Us”. We are also adding other service animal organizations and if you would like to share yours with us, we will be happy to contact them to see if we can add them to our “Giving Back” section.
Will you be meeting another service dog? It won’t replace Luis but it will bring new love and joy into your home and heart. Please let us know how you are doing and what’s happening with you. If you would like to join a small gathering of our kind community members, we are meeting via Zoom Tuesday June 7th at 7 pm EST (4 Pacific). Let me know and I’ll send you an invitation.
Christine, if you would like to share some photos of Luis with us, we’d love to see them. You can also post a permanent memorial to him here: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/
I hope you do better each day, and find smiles before your tears. Toni

I am so pleased and proud of you, and The River of Calm, Ed. Recording in the Beatles’ studio is a lifetime gift and we are SO excited to hear your stories, and see some photos and videos. Let us know when your CD releases so we can add it to our Shop: https://www.theriverofcalm.com/ and let the Community know. We need calm, supportive music now more than ever. Tell Honey to hold down the fort in your absence. We’ll be thinking of you ๐ And Thank You for being a valued Friend of Faithful Friends. {{HUGE HUGS}} -

Glenda, 1. Our tech guy fixed the thing that was giving you trouble – it wasn’t you or what you said, it was something in our system. Sorry about that ๐
2. Shelters everywhere are overly full now and it’s just a desperate situation, so if you can keep the kittens and mother for awhile, you are an angel. To find more shelters, go the link below and enter your area, use the drop-down menu and click Animal Rescues & Shelters, or other pertinent areas. Maybe you can find a place to help. And some pet stores will let you present the kittens for adoption. Here’s the link:It’s been a while since I have been here, but I always read the newsletter you send. Yesterday my beloved Bubbles passed away. After 17 years of being together, I am lost. She never acted sick or like she was in pain. She was always running from one end of the house to another, jumping up the air and turning around. I always said she acted more like a kitten than a17 year cat. She loved to eat…pickles, onions, tomatoes plus her regular cat food. My cats have never tried to steal food from me but if something fell in the floor Bubbles would have it eaten before it hit. It will take a while before I get used to her not being here. She was always waiting for me when I opened the door and would look at me lovingly when I kissed her bye on the way out. I am deeply heartbroken.[Read more]– Glenda (@ghorton01) May 3, 2022
3. I understand how you feel about Bubbles, having said goodbye to my beloved on Feb. 24th. But, thank goodness you have the others, and they you -what a difference it makes to have them in your world. I was taking care of Boots, a 1 1/2 year old (scroll through the posts and you can see some of his fun photos), and he went back to his lady this week. I cried for five nights and my home is empty. But, I am hoping he is happy and healthy, and am grateful for the healing he brought me. So Glenda, let yourself feel your grief for Bubbles, and treasure the time you have with your other faithful friends. And thank you for your update. Our community is here for us to share our happy, and sad times, and it means everything to hear from you. By the way, would you be interested in a video group visit once a month or so, to share stories and support? Let us know. I’m thinking of you all, with warm wishes. Toni -

Suzanne, I am glad you know you can safely share your feelings with us. The format is “virtual”, or electronically shared, but we are real people who love our pets and animals, and we do understand the joys and the pains. Please keep us updated. Toni -

Suzanne, how are you doing now? I was, and am still, so very touched by your beautiful Spirit. She and my beloved Beauty Girl looked so much alike (you can read her memorial here: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/beauty-girl/ ). I have a canvas picture of her I pet and kiss every day, and while I am glad for her to be at peace, as you are for Spirit, I know how much you miss her. Please, keep us posted about how you, and your other faithful friends are doing. {{HUGS}} Toni -

Ann, holidays and anniversaries are tough. They trigger tons of memories and strong emotions that run deep. I find that trying to ignore those feelings just crams them up inside, so please let them flow. It’s exhausting and hurts, but also makes room for happy memories to be released. I call it “unleash the grief”. It may help you to create a lasting memorial for Gracie, which you can do here: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/
Gracie was fortunate to have you love her so much. She isn’t suffering any more, and would want you to be happy for the wonderful lives you were lucky to share. You’d want the same for her.
Please let us know how you are on the anniversary day, Ann. I’ll be thinking of you. Toni -

Sharon, it wouldn’t matter what day you gave Brody-Roe peace and comfort, releasing him from his suffering – it’s hard not to feel some level of guilt. Please know you acted in his best interest, not your own. We’d keep them with us forever if we could, but they are only “on loan” to us. You acted out of love and that’s what is important. It’s impossible not to miss our beloved friends – the house is emptier and quiet…… it’s hard. I hope you celebrate the times you both shared and enjoyed, and that your good memories outweigh the sadness you feel. I am sending a big Good Boy Brody! And a sincere {{hug}} for you, Sharon. Please let us know how you are doing. And, share some pictures with us – that’s a great way to memorialize Brody. We’re here for you. -

Whew! This is Fabulous :-)…well, not the crate and tube and staples, but she can do it for a week. Hopefully the meds are making her sleepy so she doesn’t mind too much. And Dianne, Thank You for being such a kind, caring member of our community. HUGS to you Both! -
