What a sweet girl, Teresa. When we’ve been together so long, through so many life events together, the loss of their company and love IS so very hard. Her face is kind, and she sort of looks like a lion in this picture ! May we see some more photos, please? I am truly saddened and sorry for your parting. And happy for the many years you enjoyed together. Stay with us and let us know how you are doing, Teresa.-

Remember 5 years, 3 months agoWell, since Jolie went to rainbow bridge(July 22, 2020) it was extremely lonely around here. My wife thinks I may have been suffering depression since our girl passed on. I have been retired since 2012. And Jolie has been our companion since that time. We rescued her from my brother in law who thought that his cigarettes and booze was more important than Jolie\’s health and well-being. When he went into NYC housing he was not allowed to bring Jolie. So we took ownership. We had to lay out over $3k in dental and shots and health. The vet said that had we not taken ownership Jolie would have certainly died within months!! Jolie was my constant companion and we had fun. Kidney and liver problems began their attack a year before they took her. I could see her health dwindling and when it came time to let her go I COULD NOT. I probably caused her suffering. I WAS SELFISH!! I couldnt let her go. But a week before we put her down it became obvious that we had to put her down(My eyes are still welling up even now!!! We say goodnight to her every single night since she passed.
BUT HAPPINESS FOUND US ON DECMBER 9, 2020!!! A breeder friend had an 8 year old schnauzer that she was giving away free. She thought of us and brought LIBBY(a mini schnauzer) by and we took ownership of LIBBY. She was an AKC champion for many years and had many pups that became champions. She has taken to us and we have taken to her. She just recently started sleeping in our bed. she has the cutest and funny bark-heave-bark. She wont take place of Jolie but she has become a loving family member. A JOY TO HAVE AROUND and keep me company!!!
I do not have any of Libby\’s pics on my office computer. I probably have 1000s on my phone. I will send one when I transfer them here.
BUT THANK GOD for Libby!!!! Jolie sent a beautiful pet to replace her in our home!!!-
I am SO happy for you and Libby. You are the opposite of selfish – you keep your heart and home open for new life and love. There is never an easy way or time to say goodbye and you did your loving best for Jolie. My old girl (cat) has been living with a progressive inflammatory disease, has high blood pressure and hyper-thyroidism. Twice, I thought it was time to part and both times the doctor said no, she has some good time left in her, which she has :-). So I know, and we all know, it can be very difficult to tell when letting them go is truly their time. It’s always a decision made from love. When you get around to sharing pictures of Libby, we love seeing them. Stay in touch and let us know what you and Libby get up to!

I hope your birthday was as good as it could be, Susan. It sounds bittersweet. As the monthly dates, then yearly ones go by, we are reminded again of the great love and joy we shared. It’s good you and your kitty are together. Let us know how you both are doing.

What a pretty girl and I completely feel your pain. Will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I’ve cried every day 😢

Had to put her to sleep. She had seizures. Meds didnt help. Four or five a day. Couldn’t stand to see her suffer

I understand. My shepherd/Akita started having seizures. I called our vet and she met us at her office. She said, Karen you know it’s time (I’d been putting it off). I’m truly sorry for your loss but I know in my heart your baby will be waiting for you.

Michele, these date markers bring strong emotions. I hope you allow your feelings to flow through you, hard as they are. It’s been an agonizing 3 weeks since I had to say goodbye to my boy. He was the longest relationship I ever had and I miss him terribly, although I always feel him near. Just taking it day by day😥

Remember 5 years, 5 months agoI just lost my cat Spud a few days ago. He was 15 yes old, someone ran over him with their car. I am just lost without him. I had him cremated, I picked up his ashes today 😭

I am so sorry Cindy. I too lost a cat years ago that was hit by a car. I have found comfort in doing things in memory of my lost pets. Make a memorial garden or start a journal. You are in my thoughts.

Oh Cindy, I am so sorry, too. My nine month old kitten was hit and killed years ago. It’s just shocking in it’s suddenness and all you can do is cry and feel guilty and angry, and get through it with support and love. We are all so so sad and sorry for you both. I love the name-Spud. If you want a special way to keep Spud near you, check out the Forever in Glass hand blown pendants in our shop. Henry Duquette will create a beautiful glass piece in the color you select. Cindy nothing i can say except i know ur pain…..i had poots for 21 years..it is still hard to think about her without crying…to ease my pain i fostered for the local animal shelter it was a way to deal with my grief …there are so many needy animals out there and one thing about fostering…they are sent to great forever homes

I. Is my Bailey he was my heart dog and with me 24/7. He was given to me by my husband whom has passed away. So I think Bailey knew what I was going thru so tried to comfort me . We could not stand to be apart . He has been gone a month now but still so painful loosing him .

Remember 5 years, 5 months agoWe lost Rangers mom on January 5th 2021 her name is Lei-D-Bug ; they couldn\’t give her the medicine to save her because it would be fluid on her lungs and drowned her. We took her in for a check up and left alone in shock.-
Oh my goodness, Connie – What a terrible shock for you. You made the hardest, kindest choice for Lei-D-Bug but how terribly sad. I am so very sorry. Were there symptoms?

We knew she had a heart murmur since a pup. I was sitting with her the night before and I’m the vet at home so I get a feeling or sense from my furbabies. Her eyes, her quietness and she’s bubbly; we stayed with and talked to her and we miss her and Ranger everyday he was one of her pups.

Susan, do I count eighteen furry friends here? Wow – how wonderful of you and for them! So many different kinds…I’m a sucker for pets in sunglasses :-). Tell us more, please, and keep lovin’ and huggin’ those babies!

LOL No, I can’t afford that many. That girl in the sunglasses was my neighbors’ dog, as well as the brown bully, but we loved them as our own. A man shot the brown bully and someone stole the baby in the sunglasses. The Chorkie and the white bully are my granddoggies. The big yellow terrier recently passed away due to cancer. The black and white kitty befriended us when he was a very young boy that had been shot. $232 later, we had an indoor kitty. He also recently passed from seizures. The gray kitty was also a homeless baby that wanted to be loved. She now rules the house. The two black dogs are my constant companions. I adore all animals.

You are the BEST, Susan, to love and care for so many, and all, animals. My first dog, Moses, when I was six years old, was shot by a stupid neighbor and poor Moses died. What is wrong with people?!! Some of our other community members have had animals shot or stolen and it just saddens me, and stuns me. Animals are waaaay better than many people. I just read a book you might like ” The Travelling Cat Chronicles” by Hiro Arikawa. Let me know if you read it. And please, send pictures of your gray kitty “The Queen” of the house and your others, neighbors’ included :-). I am so glad to have you here. Toni
