Hi.I am Dianne.My mama cat,Mama George got hit by a car November 2021.And I recently lost my Chi girl Princess after she had surgery to remove a soft mass the size of a softball on her belly,and a nasty mass near her butt.She passed away September 2023.

So sorry for your loss of Jojo 😞 It’s never easy to lose our loves no matter how they pass. But, by passing in sleep, you know it was in peace. I hope that will give you comfort knowing that. Sending hugs 🫂

So sorry, Maryann 😞 My boy, Romeo has been gone 4 months as of this past Saturday and I am still a mess. Losing our fur babies is the worst pain to go through. May your Penny girl rest in peace. 💔

Linda, he looks so sweet – and a bit mischievous. How very sad to loose him so suddenly and under those circumstances! My heart goes out to you. I hope you have shoulders to cry on; there are people here in this community who understand your grief and will listen to what you feel like telling us about him. It does not bring him back but it keeps him alive. In Isabel Allende’s book Eva Luna the mother says to her daughter “People die only when we forget them. If you can remember me, I will be with you always.” I think the same goes for our dogs and cats and other beloved creatures. The task of grieving is to get to where you’re feeling them inside you and are able to take comfort in it, even if they are no longer around physically.

Yes, the anniversaries bring up strong memories and emotions. How sweet to get a “jingle”. I hope that comforts you. We say it all the time, because it’s true – they are never with us long enough, and the stronger the love the deeper the pain. You are lucky to have Mae and Sheba to share your love now, and Raina is surely happy for your generosity in opening your home and heart to them. Light another candle for Raina on the anniversary, and don’t forget to celebrate the day you met, too! There was a lot of joy in between those dates. Toni

You are so kind and thoughtful, Martha. I really appreciate that. I am delighted, and quite surprised that Walter is doing okay. It’s really tough knowing he has the mass, and I watch him like a hawk for signs he is in distress, but he’s playing a little with me, sleeping A LOT, eating and doing okay. What a surprise and gift. Faith, I am so sorry. Had Jojo been unwell? I am among many who kind of hope our beloved, if ill, will pass away in their sleep so we don’t have to make the decision to help them along. Neither is easy and no matter how long we’ve been together, we always wish for more times to share. My BG was quite unwell and I know letting her pass peacefully was in her best interest, but I still miss her a year later, and always will, but mt memories are happy and I am grateful she was in my life. I hope, with time, YOUR memories bring you smiles. Please let us know how you are coming along and feel welcome to tell us more about Jojo, and share some pictures of him. We’re thinking of you, and I am sending you a {{HUG}}. Toni
