Hi.Thursday afternoon our 13 year old long haired Chihuahua Molly started having seizures that went on and off all day.She stopped eating and drinking water, and just wanted to hide. She started losing her bodily functions and would wet on herself and would pee all over my granddaughter’s bed, which wasn’t normal. She could hardly stand to go out to potty. So on early Friday morning,Molly lost the use of her back legs. That was the decision to make her an appointment to get pts.As we got to her appointment on Friday,Molly was totally limp. The vet checked her gums and they were very pale. She also had non cancerous mammary tumors. The vet said due to the seizures, she more than likely had a brain tumor that caused her back legs to stop working.Vet also said she had two days to live. But my daughter in law and I were there when she took her final breath.Unfortunately we couldn’t afford her ashes. But she is finally free from pain.

    • 💔Oh Dianne, this is the painful part of loving our beloved babies – seeing them fail. Thank goodness you got Molly the kind care she needed and deserved. Good for you, thinking only of her best interest and granting her relief and release from her pain and suffering. That is truly the most generous, loving act you can share. Yes, it hurts beyond belief, in ways nothing else can, to part from Molly, and I hope that you will allow yourself to find smiles before your tears with your memories of the fun, funny and loving times you were so lucky to share. If I may say, I don’t have the remains of my beloved babies, and I do not want them – my love and memories are within me as I know yours are, too. Dianne. If you, and your daughter in law, would like to, please join our online meeting Thursday October 16th to tell us more about Molly. It is helpful to talk about your feelings with people who understand and care. We start at 7PM Eastern, 4 Pacific. The link to join is under “Events” on the right side of this page. We are here for you to share whenever you feel like doing so and I encourage you to do that. I send you my sincere condolences and sympathy. Toni

Thank you everyone for your beautiful words of comfort for my Oscar.
His urn is beautiful as my daughter picked it out for him.As soon as my family sells my house, they will be bringing Oscar home up to Western NY where I am.I did some calculations and Oscar was about 28 years old.
I miss my tuxedo best friend. He can never be replaced.

        • Hi Dianne….. I’m so sorry for your heartache. I know you miss him and will forever, and no, he can never be replaced. I still miss my boy terribly too and he’s been gone for 21 months.

Anyways,my daughter had been caring for Oscar and he had been showing signs he was ready to go.When my daughter to him to the vet, they gave him his sedative, but my daughter was holding Oscar in her arms,as his face was in her cheek, the vet didn\’t give him half of the second injection,as he purred, and he was gone. The vet told my daughter that Oscar was the oldest cat she had ever seen.
When we moved to where I was living,in the three and a half years, his memory was fading. It was to where Oscar couldn\’t remember me,but I was just the nice lady who fed him, gave him water and scooped his litter box.He was forgetting to eat.He used to weigh about 15 pounds, but he was light as a feather. He was supposed to move up to Western New York with my family, but he couldn\’t have made a three day, 17 hour road trip.So I did some math in my head, and when I found him almost frozen to death on my porch back in 2007,he was an adult cat, maybe 7 years old.He wasn\’t a spring chicken.I am guessing he was way over 24 years old.
My heart is really breaking because he took a huge piece of my heart with him.He was my best friend, and my constant companion. There will never be another cat like Oscar.I get his ashes back on Friday.
            • I am so sorry. I wish I could say something to help with the hurt. My prayers are with you and your family. You have given him many years of love.
              • Dianne, I am so very sorry for your loss of Oscar 💔 It sounds like he had a long amazing life with you especially after you found him on your porch. He left this world snuggled in love.
Sending you comforting hugs and wishing you peace at this very sad time. 💔
                • 💔Diane, this is the hard part of loving – saying goodbye. Your pain is as deep as your love for Oscar. Even though in our heads we know we will part one day, our hearts shatter when that time comes. I am so very sorry, but so very happy for the long life of love you and Oscat were so fortunate to share. If you can, think of a fun, funny time you shared. Let yourself laugh and be happy for those times. Oscar would want you to be happy for the joys you shared, don’t you think? And let yourself cry (as if you have a choice) – it’s healing to literally ‘get it out’. Please join our group meeting tomorrow, Thursday Sept. 19 at 7PM Eastern, You can stay as long as you like, and you can cry with us. We understand and are here to listen and lend comfort. We are all thinking of you and I am sending you {{BIG HUGS}. Toni

                    This is Irish.My baby.
                  • Dianne posted an update 2 years, 7 months ago

So this couple of months has been super hard on me.
                    My beautiful ginger baby,Irish died.
I am not quite sure if it was intentional or accidental, but someone poisoned him.
He was my inside/ outside, fully neutered and vaccinated love muffin.I found him as a kitten.
I still go outside to see him and open up my door so he can come in and eat.I miss his sweet, soft meow. His death hit me hard.I am a cat lover and even though it has been two months,I am lost without him.But I still have Oscar to keep me company though.

                    • Dianne, there are so many poisonous and otherwise deadly things a cat can pick up outside that we will never know if Irish ate a plant or animal that poisened him💔😪A friend’s dog licked a frog and was deathly ill. Viruses and any number of bacterial diseases are in the soil and on the pavement. One way people are controlling the outside environment is with “catios” where they are fenced in so the kitties can be outside, but not GET outside. I had a beloved cat go out one day and never saw her again. That was a long time ago and I still wonder what happened. It’s always terrible to lose a pet and it has only been a short time since darling little Irish said goodbye, so it is understandable that you are still very bereft and heartbroken. I am so very sorry. Oscar must be missing Irish, too, so turn to each other with lots of love. I hope you find some comfort there. We’re here, Dianne, so stay in touch as often as you like. I hope a {{BIG HUG}} helps you a bit. Toni

We have a rodent problem in our neighborhood.Irish never wandered from my house.
I am not sure what happened.
I buried him three hours ago Oscar and Irish were my babies too.
All I know is that he was incoherent,he wouldn’t eat,nor drink water
Oscar is fine.He has no signs of being sick.
                            Thank you,Toni

                            • Oh Dianne, I am so sorry.
                              • Keep Oscar close to you, make him comfortable. He will be missing his friend.
                                • Brony,he is lost.
                                  • I don’t understand. He is lost emotionally or physically?
                                    • He is looking for Irish. They were very close. So he is kind of lost without Irish.
                                      • I understand now. Yes he will look for awhile. The safest thing for him is to keep him inside. Cause he will go looking for Irish. My heart goes out to Irish.,,and my heart goes out to You and Oscar..Love One Another……
                                        • Dianne, how are you and Oscar holding up 🤗🤗Toni

                                            • Dianne, why do you feel guilty? Talk to us about that. Oscar is certainly feeling the loss of Irish and you can help him by crying with him, petting him, visiting Irish’s “spots” and speaking softly about your times together. You are welcome to speak with me if you like. Let me know.Toni

Hi everyone.Well, today is not a good day.Someone poisoned my cat,Irish. He is an inside outside boy.I hear him crying about 3 am,and found him.He was lethargic,he wasn\’t able to recognize me and when he walked,he was staggering.
I had put him in a towel, and he laid next to me.I got dressed and walked down to my family\’s house, and when I came back,he was cold and unresponsive.I had him for three and a half years. My heart is shattered. My other cat,Oscar is looking for him.
                                              • Oh no, Dianne. How horrid. I am so sorry.💔 How would someone poison him? Did you have company? The lethargy and staggering are symptoms of the Panleukopenia that killed Mac’s brother and sister. It is extremely virulent and is on the ground so can be tracked into a house.. Can you have Irish tested for that? If he had that, Oscar is going to need treatemnt (antibiotics and fluids). This is shocking and tragic and heartbreaking and I am in tears for you all.😪 Please let us know if you have Irish tested and what happens. Toni

So it’s been a while since my mama cat got hit by a car,and then my little dog Princess suddenly passed away. But lately I have been seeing a cat that looks like mama George,to a t.Her coloring, she was a black and grey striped tabby cat.I noticed that this cat has the same pink collar as mama had on the night she got hit by a car.The funny thing is,when I call this cat George,it stops whatever it’s doing ,tips it’s head as if it recognizes me.Its so odd.

                                                • That kitty is picking up some kind, good vibes from you. They’re very sensitive that way. Have you made friends with it? Do you know where it lives? Can you ask to visit? Keep us updated please 🤗

This September has been one year since my beloved companion passed away after having cancerous tumors removed. Her passing didn’t happen exactly after surgery but a month or so later.
I am still lost without Princess.
But my heart is slowly healing.

                                                    • Dianne, it is good to hear from you, albeit in commemorating your parting from Princess. The anniversary of saying goodbye is hard – it brings back so many memories, especially of your last days together.Your Mama Cat was 15, but how old was Princess? It sounds like you are able to recall the many years of fun, funny and loving times you and Princess shared. That’s what she would want you remember, don’t you think? Again, the anniversary is a milestone, one of many you shared, and I hope you can find many smiles with your memories. You are welcome to light another candle for Princess – it’s like sending her a little “kiss”. I am sending you my sympathy and a {{BIG HUG}}. Toni

It is.My mama cat was about 15 years old,and visually impaired, she was becoming sick. She accidentally got out of my house, and nobody noticed.Hours later,a woman knocked on my door with the collar of my mama cat.She was struck by a vehicle and died immediately. My Chihuahua,Princess had surgery months prior to remove a soft tissue cancerous growth on her belly, and more on her backside. The vet gave her 50/50 chance of living. But one evening,as I walked her,we came back to the house, and her front legs went limp.I picked her up and put her on her blanket in my room. She sat up,took a few breaths and she was gone. Her tongue started turning blue, and she was gone.
