Oh Beverly, our pets count on us, trust us, to do what’s best for them, not us. Sometimes what’s best is to help them to a peaceful passing. Most of us here have had to make the difficult decision of when it time to stop, and grant them comfort. I’ve done it three times this past 1 1/2 years and it’s always awful, but good, knowing they aren’t suffering anymore. An enlarged bowel could have ruptured causing Bandit extreme agony. It’s good you didn’t let that happen, don’t you think? (Walter had a mass on his intestines and bowels and that was the main reason I let him go – so it wouldn’t rupture). You know you did everything you could, always in Bnadit’s best interest. Now you have to crawl through the deep pain of parting to get to a point of finding smiles before tears with his memories. I hope you’ll join us Thursday to talk about Bandit. (Under “Events). 💔🤗Toni -

Diane, you are welcome to light another candle on the anniversary of Eddie’s passing. And, on the anniversary of his birthday or adoption day! Join us Thursday for our group meeting if you like. Anniversaries, especially the first, bring up many emotions and memories. I hope you think of the many fun, funny and loving times you and Eddie shared. We’re thinking of you 💔Toni -

Karen, you’ve been through a lot! I am so glad you find the strength to care for Alfie and Lily Belle, but maybe you all prop each other up. Sometime in the past the quote by Ram Dass “We are here to walk each other home” really landed on me. Best wishes to you! -

I lost my precious Bandit on April 11 of this year. I am having a hard time dealing with her passing. She was 16, had diabetes, thyroid problems, a mass in her chest,a heart murmur, and an enlarged bowel. I tried everything to save her.-

Lulu always wanted a cat tree. When she was eleven I bought her a used one. Until then she loved my suitcase. When she passed she was buried in the back yard, I made her a cross to always honor her. Lulu will always be in my soul. She was a few months shy of being 14. I couldn\’t get thru another day alone and the thoughts of Lulu wore heavy on my brain, so I adopted crazy Lucy. She occupied my brain by doing things that made me laugh.. she adores tv. And is slowly coming around. She sits in her chair and watches TV for hours. I don\’t have many pictures of Lucy, but I will. Cause she\’s a crazy cat..I will always love LULU forever, but it was time to love again. -

Lisa, I understand 😞 I am so sorry for your loss 💔 Getting over it is not possible, it’s very painful and you will grieve. When we lose our precious fur babies it is gut wrenching. Some people don’t understand how we can still be grieving after a certain time, but, I guess they never had a special bond with a animal. They mean well when they say those things because they dont know what else to say and they are trying to help you. That’s why this group exists to help us get through this terrible grief. You can come here anytime and say what is on your mind. No judgement here.
Sending you lots of hugs and wishing you peace. Take care of yourself 💔 😞 -

Brony, hope you had a very nice Birthday. You are a year younger than my son, he was 58 on the 6th. So, I should get a goldfish? 🙂
I’ve been there and done that…..they die too easily. But, it was a good suggestion. Have a nice day! -
