This is a great example that a bark is not size dependent – it’s the fact that Alfie alerted the household! Good job, Alfie 👍

Hi Christina, I am so sorry for your loss of June 💔 I know how hard it is to lose our fur baby. I am still struggling over the loss of my Romeo even though it’s been 6 months. Life is so painful and sad without them. Take care.
      Sending you comforting hugs 💔

Lost my beloved Cupid 4 weeks ago today when our house burned down. He was my emotional support animal and my constant companion. My heart is breaking

                  • Oh my, Laurie. You have suffered so much loss and I am so very sorry. How long were you and Cupid together? How did you meet? Was he unwell? Are you being taken care of with the overwhelming loss of your home? We’re thinking of you and sending you not only our sympathy, but support. {{HUG}} Toni

Lost my baby girl Sioux on Fri. Sadly I lost her brother almost 1 year ago today. This hurts so bad I don’t know how I will cope

                    • So sorry for your loss of Sioux. 💔
                      • Kristi, you don’t have to “cope” per se – you are aching in a very deep and real way and, although it hurts like nothing else, you do need to feel it. I found comfort with a stuffed animal to hold, kiss and cry on. Keeping some of Sioux’s things around may help. Sharing with us here hopefully brings you some comfort. We’d love to have you join our group August 17th. In the mean time, please tell us more about Sioux and her brother, and share some pictures (if it’s not too painful for you). {BIG HUGS} Toni
                        • Kristi, How are you holding up now? Toni

This is Spesser, our orange and white Pomeranian boy . He was named after the orange garnet Spessartite . He was my mom’s favorite dog. Hew was with us for 10 years and passed away January 7, 2019.
They were both very very much loved.
Meet Rhodo, Spessers best friend and my dog. He was the sweetest puppy I’ve ever known. He loved to chase and bark at tumbleweeds . He was a great mouser. He passed away from thyroid cancer on June 23 , 2017.
                          • Caryn, I love the names and thanks for telling us their meaning. I am sorry your family had to say goodbye to these two little darlings, but I am happy for the lives you all got to share. No matter how long we get to be together, it’s never long enough, is it? Have you or your mom opened your homes and hearts to others? If so, may we hear about them? Toni

                                • Still cry.Miss him he was my ❤️I have a nice calendar I made of him and shirt and a crystal clear memory and his ashes..🐾🐾
                                  • Those items of remembrance can help, Toni. I have a sweatshirt with my BG on it and always feel good wearing it. I touch and kiss her picture. Blankets and toys they liked can help bring comfort, too. Little by little, our memories bring a bit more perpective and peace, knowing we shared their best life and that they are now at peace. And other life events that take our interest, concern and effort take us away from our pain for awhile. It sounds as if you have too much of that right now – how is your husband? Doesn’t it seem things tend to come at once, like a big rainstorm that just dumps on you? Well, eventually things will “dry out” and the sun will come out again for you, Toni. Let us help hold the umbrella over you. {HUGS}
                                    • Thanks so much for your kindness. Can’t believe September 10 he will be gone already a year🥲It all helps and Bailey helps a lot.🐾🐾My husband is ok just really sore.Lucky to be alive. He almost died last year July 30th.His team of Dr.’s call him a walking miracle.Long story. He had major surgery last year July 28 his bday.5 th one since 2018 when he was diagnosed with cancer. Thanks again.Hugs Brought a tear to my eyes.
                                      • Wow, your family has been through a lot . Please let us know how you are doing. ❤️
                                        • Doing 👍 ok.
                                          • Good to hear, Toni. It takes time and knowing September 10th is just around the corner brings up many memories. I hope on that day you can find some joy and celebrate the years of love you shared with Bailey. We’ll be here for you. I hope to see you August 17th in our group. Toni
                                            • Rocky passed in September.Bailey is my new dog.Ot doesn’t seem like it’s almost been a year since Rocky passed.I still cry a lot of days and always think of him.Bailey helps. She is such a character.😄🥲🐾🐾❤️💖
                                              • Ten days after BG died, a friend needed a home for one year old Boots. I was absolutely not ready to bring in a new pet. But if I can keep an animal out of a shelter, I will. So I did welcome Boots and he was such an active, engaging, curious and sweet boy, he helped me heal from my loss. He made me realize that BG lived her life, and I was lucky to share some of it with her, but new life needs love, too. We can never “replace” a pet, but we can open our homes and hearts to new life and love. Boots is back with his person and I miss (and worry about) him, but I credit him with helping me heal. Do NOT let anyone pressure you into adopting if you’re not ready, but in my case, having a new joy was just what I needed.
                                                • Yes Bailey has helped a lot.🐾🐾❤️💖

They have gotten to be quite the pair. My son told me he is glad I have Alfie now because he started barking during the night a couple of weeks ago and my son (as I said earlier, he lives across the alley) just happened to be up and looked out his window. There was a guy trying to break in my house and Alfie scared him off as my son called the police. He sounds bigger than he is when he barks. Both my dogs only weigh 11 pounds each.
