Lost my baby girl Sioux on Fri. Sadly I lost her brother almost 1 year ago today. This hurts so bad I don’t know how I will cope

Kristi, you don’t have to “cope” per se – you are aching in a very deep and real way and, although it hurts like nothing else, you do need to feel it. I found comfort with a stuffed animal to hold, kiss and cry on. Keeping some of Sioux’s things around may help. Sharing with us here hopefully brings you some comfort. We’d love to have you join our group August 17th. In the mean time, please tell us more about Sioux and her brother, and share some pictures (if it’s not too painful for you). {BIG HUGS} Toni -

Well 1 month ago today I lost my beautiful boy Apache. The pain is still as bad today as it was 1 month ago. I know he’s in a better place and I’m happy for that. But I still miss him so much. He has a sister who cries every day for him because they were inseparable. My heart breaks for her too. I try to give her extra love and hopefully we can comfort and support each other in coping with the loss of her brother 🙏. I love my boy forever

I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear sweet boy Apache and for his fur sister who is grieving his loss as much as you are. Hopefully the two of you in your own special ways will be able to help each other heal. Praying for you and Apache’s fur sister during these difficult and painful times. -
Kristi, anniversaries and holidays bring up strong emotions with the memories they commemorate. I really, truly feel better talking to and petting the canvas portrait I had made of my girl and you might, too. I’ll put the link below. What is your girls’ name? May we see photos? How old is she? Does she have some of Apache’s things around that she can be with? We know the whole family mourns a loss, including the other pets, and you are doing your best to heal you both. It’s not easy nor quick but one day you will find smiles before tears with your memories of Apache. Hang on to your girl and stay in touch with us. We are thinking of you both. Toni

So tonight I lost my baby boy Apache. I am so heartbroken I don’t know what to do. He was 14 but was still my baby boy. How do I go on without him

Kristi, I am so sorry. It hurts in a way nothing else does, and is deep within. You feel empty, the house is different – everything is changed because Apache was so much a part of your whole being and daily life. It’s brutal to say goodbye regardless of age or health status. But…and I know this is hard, he would want you to be joyful for the life you shared, and is grateful to you for your caring love, as you are for his. I found holding and sleeping with a stuffed animal very soothing when my Beauty Girl passed. I take comfort in the memorial tribute I posted here for her, and with time, as I think of her age and illnesses, I know in my head we had an incredible life together. It’s your heart and soul that are hurting you so much right now and I hope sharing with our caring community brings you some relief. When you feel like it, will you show us some pictures of him, and tell us more? I hope you will come to our online group gathering Thursday August 25th at 8 PM Eastern (5 Pacific) and you can share more with us. I am sending you my sincere sympathy and hope you find smiles before tears with your sweet memories of Apache. Toni
