I have been fighting Covid for 5 weeks and lost my Chacha to cancer. Lat of the line I\’ve lost to cancer 4 little chihuahuas.
I hate being sick and I hate dog cancer.
    • Sally I can’t even imagine having Covid for 5 weeks and then losing your beloved dog Chacha to cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

October 1st is the 3 year anniversary of Ooky\’s death. 3 years and I still cry when I look at her pictures or watch video of her. The pain of loss never seems to go away. I lost her sister Doodlebug last May and her Aunt, Missy last June they were all blood related and all died from untreatable cancer.
I miss them so very much.
            • Sally, I still choke up when I see pictures of my dear old Squirt, and she’s been gone decades. The love doesn’t go away, and while the acute pain fades, a little pain and melancholy accompanies the memories of all the wonderful times we shared. You have lost so many loves in such a short period, it’s undertsandable that you are moved to tears. It’s okay to cry – in fact, it helps clear toxins from our bodies. Anniversaries stir up strong emotions, too and I encourage you to join our group meeting Sep. 24th in anticipation of Ooky’s. A nice suggestion from one of our members: in addition to marking the anniversary of the date of parting, celebrate the date of birth or adoption! I think that’s lovely and hope that brings you a bit of comfort. We’ll be here for you. {{HUGS}} Toni

Had a nice Christmas with my furbabies but not the same without Doodlebug and Missy and Jazz. I guess I love them them too much. Looking forward to a better new year.
              Happy New Year everyone

It has been a bad year. It’s not getting any better, I discovered a small lump on one of my ribs under my breast. I hope it’s nothing but it does concern me.

Still in mourning for my girls I lost to cancer this past summer and my dog I lost to old age. I can’t seem to get over it. I find myself still crying. Just miss them so much.

                • I’m so sorry for your loss. I understand how you feel and my heart goes out to you. I lost my 5 year old special cat on Jan. 5/22. I don’t cry as much as in the beginning, but with the holidays coming I think of him more now, and have days that it just hits me hard that he won’t be here, and the crying starts. I’m trying to understand that time lessens the grief, and focus on the good times. It still is hard but I’m trying to get through this.
                  • Sally, you have lost so much this year, how could you not cry? And Lorraine is right – the holidays trigger so many memories that stir deep emotions. We are all happy for the lives we spent together and know how much love and joy we got to share. But the trade off is the pain of parting. I said goodbye in February and I really think I can have a nice holiday season knowing the love and care we had for each other. I hope you do, too. Please Sally, and Lorraine, let us know here how you are faring. Share some pictures with us – that helps. And know we are all thinking of you.{BIG HUGS} Toni

                          • I’m so sorry, Sally. Seventeen years is a long life and in our heads we know that, but in our hearts there is never enough time together. It hurts. I hope you find joy in your memories. Please share your story of life together and let us know how you are doing. Toni
