It\’s been a very difficult week. Last Tuesday(4/8/2025) my husky mix Bradley went to the Rainbow Bridge. He was a rescue so I didn\’t know his exact age but was at least 13. He had been failing but that day the vet thinks he had a heart attack and had to helped across the bridge. He is SO missed -

Hello friends. It’s been a while that I have posted. Last year(2023)I lost my husband to pancreatic cancer and my 2 dogs miss him terribly. I’m so sorry to read of the losses of your beloved pets. Our husky mix Bradley is almost 13 and having some issues walking but he makes it out to potty but know my time with him is growing short-he’s a big boy(over 150 pounds).

Jean, How nice to hear from you. You have had such a loss – I lost my husband many years ago and it still hurts. The pain does lessen, don’t you find? But we will always carry a bit of grief within us, I think. And yes, our pets mourn losses, too, not only of a human, but other pets in our family. It is so hard to watch our elderly pets become frail, and anticipating their passing is painful every day. I am sorry Bradley is aging, but happy for the years of love and joy you have shared. Jean, please feel welcome to stay engaged with us and let us know how you, Bradley and your other pup are faring. I hope you can enjoy this holiday season by recalling some fun, funny memories, and make some new ones! Sending you a {{BIG HUG}}. Toni

I lost my husband of 61 years last November 5th and in March I moved from Delaware to New Jersey to be near family. My 2 dogs are adjusting well I think and having them to love and care for gives me a reason to get up every morning!!!

Sally I can’t even imagine having Covid for 5 weeks and then losing your beloved dog Chacha to cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you. -

I recently moved from Delaware to New Jersey on March 22, I lost my husband to pamcreatic cancer on 11/5/2023 and found it too difficult to take care of a biger home with a basement. I now live in a senior development but my 2 dogs are having a hard time. Bradley is a husky mix of about 12 years old and Sadie is a Foxhound mix of 9 1/2 years. I’m hoping soon they will adjust to not having a large yard.

Margie-for us the day we lose them is so difficult BUT the day we get their ashes back is just as hard. Just know the support here helps too. My thoughts and prayers are with you. -

As an animal lover it always makes me sad when I read someone lost a beloved pet. Since 2005 we have lost 6 dogs who will remain in our hearts forever.

I thought I would post a picture of I-our beagle Patches and kitty Sheila(who are both playing at Rainbow Bridge now). I have many many pets over my lifetime and miss them so very much!

I don’t know how old you are, but I had neighbors in their 80’s who only adopted senior dogs. Yes, they said goodbye to a n umber of them, but the sweet old pups had a loving last few years. Maybe you could consider that if it would help you, and Sadie. Is Sadie also about 13? If so, she may find a new fur friend stressful.
Jean, please continue to share here with us – we truly care and are here for you. Sending you hugs, Toni
