Very interesting….I’ve wondered this often haha. Sometimes those 10 minute walks turn into 60 minute walks finding that “right spot.”

hahaha Cynthia I have had this same problem, but not with as many dogs. I know that it takes time for sure, and until they all figure out which one is the true Alpha Dog it will continue. We’ve taken our Chihuahua out to visit our neighbor often and after 2-3 visits our dog realized quick that he could only do so much with her……this is a great ask-a-vet question. Can you post it there?

Thanks Cody. I’ve been trying to offer a reward and it seems to work. They make Dried Liver treats that seriously are the most delicious things for him…..he will do just about any trick haha…i think it’s just repeating maybe?

How do you all teach your pets new tricks?

  I worked a lot with Shey when she was a puppy. I had her trained to do a lot of things and used treats and praise. As she got older, I didn’t keep up on it so she forgot a lot of it..and I understand now why she didn’t “give paw” anymore…I wouldn’t want to lift up one of my legs if I couldn’t depend on the others either 😉
  
  With Tidbit, I have tried a few different ways to teach her things but she doesn’t seem to interested. I have tried several times over the years to teach her to play and she doesn’t really take to toys or balls.

Cody I have taken Satchmo to a Dog park near me quite often. They are so fun…..ours has a smaller fenced area for smaller dogs and the ability to go in with the big Dogs if he wishes……good to have the option especially if he’s not used to being chased by some big ones! I bet he will love it though…..

    Yes, and it usually has a double gate. So open the first gate into a small pen and close it after you before you open the next gate to the park area. This keeps dogs from rushing out and getting away.

  Thanks Sean got it..thanks for getting me that info..I didnt know they had eye specialist for kitty’s ..you think my vet would of said something to us to try..im going to google to see if i can find a specialist..like i said she’s fit as a fiddle , except for the eyes not dilated..
