Its been 2 months since my baby girl Penny is gone. I still cry because I miss her so much.

      • Two months is not a long time, Maryann. I hope you can bring forth memories of the wonderful times you shared and that those memories bring you smiles. We’re here for you so keep us posted about how you are. And Maryann, thank you for so kindly extending your sympathy and understanding with others in our community who are aching from their loss. That is so generous of you and means so much. Toni
        • So sorry, Maryann 😞 My boy, Romeo has been gone 4 months as of this past Saturday and I am still a mess. Losing our fur babies is the worst pain to go through. May your Penny girl rest in peace. 💔

That’s a lovely idea but I am housebound and get around with a walker and wheelchair so that isn’t possible for me to do. Penny was the light in my life behind all the darkness that I experienced since May 2020. She has been gone 6 weeks and I miss her so much.

Toni I’m just so sad. Penny is gone 6 weeks now and I don’t think I will ever get over losing her. I had to make the decision to let her go and it was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. I jyst miss her terribly. She was my best friend.

It has been a little over a month now and I still cry and talk to her picture all the time and tell her how much I miss her. I know as time goes on hit will get easier but right now it is still raw.

Thank you Toni. I don’t think I will ever get over losing her. I had dogs all my life, all males but she was the first female dog I had. She was my best friend and I will mourn her for a long time.
                  • Thinking of Penny, with love. You were wonderful to take her in and give her a loving life. I hope you find comfort in that. Toni

                      • Hi Maryann, Penny looks like a sweet best friend! I don’t think that we ever “get over” losing someone like that. But thankfully time will help us get more at peace with the fact that they’re gone and make it possible for us to remember without crying all the wonderful times we had, the fun, the quirky things they did and what made them so special. There is a space in my heart just for my cats, all of them, and in that way they are with me forever, safe and sound.
                        • I’m so very sorry I hope your memories may bring you some comfort

                                • Hi Maryann, it’s Sigrid again. It takes a lot of time to heal. And I was wondering if you could pour the love you have for Penny into some cause that needs it, at a shelter for example or tending to feral cats in your neighborhood. I think in addition to missing Penny you also have no place or being to give your love to. It will not bring her back but you could dedicate your helpful activities to her, to honor her and to be grateful that she was in your life. This is no advice, just something I saw a neighbor do when her cat passed. She now takes good care of the feral cats around here, has them spayed or neutered, feeds them and finds homes for them. They would be lucky to have you.

Penny was adopted at 18 months old. She was abused and starved. We adopted her in 2016. She died a few months after her 9th birthday in January. She was the most lovable dog especially after she was so abused. She was full ny.
