Does it ever get better? I still can’t believe it or function . The house is too quiet and i can’t stand it

    • The quiet and emptiness were very hard for me, too. I suspect we all feel that way, especially if we live alone. Can you make some noise in the background, like upbeat music or a fun movie? Can you get out of the house for awhile each day? Have you thought of visiting a shelter where you can be around other animals (it might be too soon for that). Do you have friends and family you can call or visit with? You could write your thoughts and feelings in a journal. We have one in our Shop called Griffin’s Heart that is a guided journal and memento book that many have found helpful. https://www.faithfulfriends.com/shop/griffins-heart-pet-loss-book/

I just lost my friend of 11 years, zeke, in 2 hours he was gone. I don’t know what to do.

          • Margie, do you have a friend or family member to be with you? It’s a terrible shock when they pass suddenly. Could you call Zeke’s vet and have them help you? Can they come to your home? If not, please try to have someone drive you, and let us know what you do, and how you are. Toni
            • Margie, are you doing okay now?
              • I got his ashes today. I am just crushed
                • He was with me every minute. We had our routine and i can’t make myself do anything
                  • Margie-for us the day we lose them is so difficult BUT the day we get their ashes back is just as hard. Just know the support here helps too. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
                    • Margie, if you don’t want to do anyhting – don’t do anything. That’s okay. One thing you can do when you are ready, think of a fun time, a loving moment. Then expand those to the many times you shared good times, fun and love. Allow yourself to be happy for the lives you were graced to share. What a wonderful treat in your lives – to be together for as long as you could be. It’s never going t be long enough. But it was as long as you had and I hope you find joy in knowing how you made his life better. We are thinking of you, Margie, and want you to reach out to us. We have open arms, and hearts. Toni
