    Maria-Catharina, Thank you for sharing this important message with specifics, and so eloquently written. The most loving, selfless and kind thing for Tosca is just what you are doing. I am so very sorry. How gracious of you to promote research. I don’t know if they have information about this, but Morris Animal Foundation does extensive research (especially cancer):

    Please, please tell us how you are doing tonight, tomorrow and as often as you like. We are thinking of you all with sympathy. {{HUG}}
    • @mbsmith101412 Hi Marybeth. I’m thinking of you this week and hope you and Drake are enjoying your time together. We know how terribly difficult it is and I want you to know we are all here for you this weekend, and any time thereafter. Sending you all a {{HUG}}. Toni

      • Thanks Toni. It’s been a rough week indeed. But I’m soaking up every moment I possibly can. I super appreciate your concern. I’m not looking forward to this weekend at all and I’m hoping my heart can handle what is to come.

          Thank you for sharing your extremely moving story abut Trouble. My goodness what a handsome fellow! His eyes remind me of my Beauty Girl who was just shy of 18 when we said goodbye in February. Similarly, she had been treated for a multitude of health challenges and her passing, with euthanasia, was very calm and peaceful. You can see her photos in our Memorials tab. https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/
          I found sleeping with a stuffed cat comforting, and had a canvas of her close-up photo made that I pet and talk to. I got the 16’X20″. https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/
          I was too hasty giving away her food and things (to the shelter, of course) and encourage you not to force yourself to get rid of his things. Lorelei, do you think at some point you will be ready to open your home and heart to another? I wasn’t ready when a friends’ cat needed a temporary home and he was young and active and smart and funny and in the three months he spent with me, my emptiness evaporated and I realized how very fortunate my girl and I were to have our time together. I hope you reach the point you can open your home and heart to another, and that you find smiles before tears in your memories.
          Please let us know how you are doing. We’re here for you. Toni
          • @lorelei61 Welcome to our caring community, Lorelei. Please tell us about your life with Trouble. I love the name and hope you tell us how that came to be. We’d love to see pictures, too. How are you holding up? Okay, I hope. Toni

            • Toni Hello;
              I was lucky enough to have had Trouble in my life for 16 out of his 18 years of life.
              Unfortunately, my sweet Trouble developed asthma about 5 years ago and was being treated with daily steroids and monthly injections but..over the last 6 months he had been declining rapidly..
              I took him into his Vets office on August 5th and I was hoping that he’d be able to come back home with me.
              But.. his health had declined so much and I didn’t want him suffering any longer so Trouble’s Vet and myself thought it best to have him humanely euthanized as heartbreaking as it was😔❤️😿
              Trouble had been deemed my emotional support animal since I suffer with depression, I miss him more than I’ll ever be able to express.
              People who know me always told me Trouble was lucky to have me..
              But.. I always felt that I was the lucky one to have my precious Trouble in my life.
              I wish you a good day Toni!

                  Sue, you may cry for a long time, and I hope some of your tears are happy for the wonderful times you enjoyed together. Poor little Jasper, at least he didn’t suffer too long and is at peace now. But you are left behind, empty in his absence, and that hurts unlike any other pain. It takes time to heal and find smiles before tears with your memories. The upcoming holiday season may be tough, and we are here for you. Please let us know how you are doing. Toni

                    Oh Dianne, you say it beautifully. I am so very sorry. She was so strong for so long, and you shared the gift of a loving life, and a passing into peace. I know there is a huge hole in your sole. We are all thinking of you and will be here waiting to hear from you. Call me if you want to chat. I am so, so sorry, Dianne. {{HUG}}
                    • @ryder4ever Hi Tannie. I am very sorry for your loss of Ryder and invite you to share stories about your lives together, and photos of Ryder. How long has it been? How are you coping?

                      Oh gosh, Lorraine, I am so sorry. It’s so hard to say goodbye, but when they are so young, it’s really, really sad. I’m sure his siblings are morning along with you. It’s good you have one another for support. We’re here for you, too. May we see pictures of Vinnie and the others? Please give them fanny scratches from me {{HUG}} Toni

                        Karen, it was truly wonderful to meet you last night at our Group meeting. I know today you will receive Buddy’s remains and that is going to be hard. You are welcome to call me if you like. Buddy was such a lucky guy to have your love and care all those years and he would want you remember the joys and fun and loving times. He’s not by your side, but will always be in your heart. I hope you find smiles before tears soon, and I hope you stay in touch with us. We’re thinking of you. {{HUGS}} Toni

                          How wonderful of you to open your home and heart to another loving baby, Jackie. You have a great capacity for love. Of course you miss your babies, and they live on within you forever. Now you’ve brought joy and comfort to another who will share the same with you. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful photos and stories. Please keep sending and sharing Girlfriend with us, and of course lil Tookie. Toni (Girlfriend is really pretty.)

                            How cute, Martha. Did Raina like getting in the water? Three months is not very long to mourn her and you’ll never know what might trigger a lot of emotion. You and I are facing our first holidays without our beloveds and I bet we both have very emotional times throughout those. You just made me think of that so let’s check in with each other here. I cry sometimes looking at her pictures and she’s been gone since February, so do move through your emotions and share with us – it helps. And please share more videos and photos with us, including Mae – we like to celebrate our pets, too! Did you know we are on Facebook: MYFaithfulfriends and Instagram: 1Faithfulfriends. If you would like to share this darling video there too, please do. Join us this Thursday Sept. 22nd at 8 PM Eastern on our Group Meeting on Zoom. Here’s the link:
