Oh Mimi, so sorry about Gigi. A Diva, eh? What was she? Do you have a picture we can see? How long have you been parted?

Amanda, Gracie is a gorgeous cat. Love those markings, and her expression. AND….I notice the thing on your door in the shape of a cat! You are our kind of people :-)…I hope you smile with your memories of Sam, and bet you pet Gracie a little more when you think of Sam. Please keep us updated about Gracie, and by the way, how old is she, how did you meet, etc.?

Conni, Good for you – looking for a furry friend. Go to our “Find Services” tab, use the drop-down menu to find Shelters and enter your zip code. With puppy season – Spring – the shelters will have mature dogs that will be delighted to be in a loving home with you. Let us know what happens and introduce us to your new companion. Good for you!

Tony, Yes, you must miss Muffin – it hasn’t been very long since you parted and you were together a very long time. I hope as time is going by you find you are smiling more with your memories, and the pangs are lessening. Are they? What type of dog was she – she looks like a Cocker mix?? I am so sorry for your loss, and so happy for the love you and Muffin shared. Please let us know how you are doing, Tony. And how we might support you.

Glenda, Wow – you are a HERO! You’re not crazy – you are kind, caring, generous and loving. What inspires you to have so many cats? Do you find them, do they find you?…..
                  • We seem to find each other, I have always loved all animals but cats tend to be my favorite, I have no children so they are my babies instead,

I guess you can say we find each other. I have alwaysloved all animals but I tend to love cats more. I have no children so they are my babies instead. I have had my heart broken so many times with them passing away and I always say no more but then I always seem to come across one who needs me but the truth is I need them just as much as they need me. I am so thankful that I found this website, Thank you for your kind words.

                      • Glenda, I am right there with you…They do seem to find us, and we, them. I like being a “Cat Lady”, and any kind of animal person :-)..
The pain of loss is deep, and I know some people who won’t have another pet because they don’t want to suffer that pain again, yet many others of us welcome the chance to love, and be loved by, another (and another) furry friend. We created Faithful Friends to be a safe place to seek or lend support, and if you like, please extend your kind words to others in our community who need some support during such a tough time. I look forward to hearing more of your stories. Thank you for being a part of us. Toni

@kristen81 Kristen, i am sorry about Garfield. Was he a cat? May we see pictures and hear about your lives together? Are you doing okay, Kristen?

                      • Yes he was and yes you may granted it’s only one picture though and I am doing ok
                          • I’m glad you are doing okay, Kristen. Some of our community could use a kind word of understanding and support if you would like to reach out to them. Do you have another cat now, or is it too soon? Toni
                              • It’s still too soon I think because I just lost him back in October and I think people just need to take however long they need to get another pet

Laura, How are you and Avie? And how are you moving along since parting with Bailey?

It hasn’t been at all long since your partings, and I don’t think there is a timeline for finding smiles before tears, but as much as it hurts to say goodbye, I do think it matters how old or ill they were. There is always sadness, but often there is a sense of relief and release for them if they were suffering or failing. Jamie, what happened with your Smokey?

Arlene, #1. What a purrfectly beautiful photograph of your darling. I m so sorry. #2. On this website, go to the “Find Services” tab, use the drop down menu to find shelters and rescues, put in your zip code, and as Connie suggests, they will be delighted to have you share your loving home. We’re coming into puppy and kitten season and that means a lot of more mature pets will be in need of a new home. Please let us know what happens next with you, Arlene.
