In our heads we know Milo enjoyed a super long loving life with you and it was time for him to move on, but being part of your life for so much of it makes everything you do a little emptier. It’s really hard, Carmelina. And yes, you were both very fortunate, and you wouldn’t have wanted those years of your life to not have had Milo with you, nor would he have wanted a life without you in it. But, he is at peace now, and while you are the one suffering the loss, you know he would want you to be warmed by his memories, and instead of sad – happy for all you got to share. Grieving takes time, and we are here to carry a little bit of that with you. Always sending you heartfelt {{HUGS}}. Toni -

Thank you to those who joined our Group Meeting and shared so openly and honestly. I’ve been thinking about each of you and hope you found some new friends, and continue to join us monthly with updates. And please keep us posted here in the Community.

We know they don’t “replace” a lost love, but add more to our lives. It’s hard to open up to another but it can help heal us with the loss. Good for you both {{HUGS}} -

OH MY DAWG … What fabulous pups, Melinda. I can see so much personality in their eyes. It’s so good of you to share your home and heart, so good for YOU to have them in your life. This is just wonderful, and thank you for sharing their stories and photos. We always like more :-). Don’t tell anyone, but we’ll be asking for cute costumes in October … just sayin’…Toni -

@tammylynn Tammy, I am so sorry for your parting from Hershey. Please tell us about your lives together, and share photos if you like. Was Hershey multi-colored? I know a dog who is and the entire litter are named after candy – Reese, Hershey, etc. Tammy, how are you holding up?

She was getting ‘cat’upuncture in the third photo. It helped stimulate blood flow to her kidneys. She was such a cool cat – you could do anything to her (which was FOR her), but she was almost 18 when it really was time to let her peacefully pass. I had a canvas picture made of her that I talk to and pet every day.

Oh no, Diana, while we didn’t know Nicholas, we certainly feel your pain and loss. He looks so much like my Beauty Girl to whom I said goodbye in February, miss every day, and am so happy I got to share a life with….. Not everyone understands the depth and strength of our relationships – but we do in this community, and I am very sorry for your loss, and very happy for all the joy and comfort and fun you and Nicholas shared. We’ll be your “furry family” 🙂 -

Beverly, how very sorry I am, we all are. The love we share with our non-human loves is at a deep cellular level and saying goodbye is absolutely brutal. You say it well: your home and heart are empty. But Beverly, your soul is enriched from sharing a loving life with Chloe. It seems unfair they are only “on loan” to us and we have to let them go. This is not, will not, be easy and you need to allow yourself the tears and pain, but please also allow the smiles and joy of the good times you had together. The hardest, kindest, most generous and selfless act we make is to provide relief and release with a comfortable passing. I found some comfort sleeping with a stuffed toy and was maybe too quick to give away all of my girl’s things. I posted a memorial tribute to her here:https://www.faithfulfriends.com/memorials/

You may not be ready to open your home and heart to another for awhile, if ever, but in a surprise move of the universe, a young cat came into my life ten days after BG and I parted and I can tell you he turned me around, made me realize my girl was ready to go and let another little life come be loved. Please stay here with us. Melinda said goodbye to her Ava, Kristi lost Apache, Marilyn and Splinter parted…. so many of us are or have been going through this terrifically powerful time and we are here for you, and for one another.
