It’s so nice to hear that you opened your home and heart to “crazy Lucy” (That’s what we’re calling her from now on). May we see photos of Lulu and Lucy? Ten days after my BG died, a friends’ mom went into a rehab facility after a fall and I brought her 1 year old kitty, Boots, into my home. I absolutely had no intention of having another pet at that time, I was still heavily grieving my loss, but Boots was so young, lively and sweet that I HAD to enjoy him. It made me realize again that ‘every leaf falls from the tree’ and BG had a wonderful five years with me. A new pet doesn’t replace one, they bring new joy and love. No one should ever feel pressured to adopt unless or until they are ready and able to devote the time, care and love it takes. But having Boots really helped heal my broken heart. (He went back to his mom, which broke it again, but he’s happy). I hope to “meet” you at Thursday’s group. Sending you and Crazy Lucy {BIG HUGS) 🤗🤗Toni -

WE understand, Lisa. We’re here for you. You will never hear “just get over it” here. What you will find are caring people who are working through the deep pain and grief of saying goodbye to a beloved baby. I encourage you to join our group meeting this Thursday because we share not only feelings, but ways to move forward that you might find helpful. So much sadness, Karen. I am very sorry. Isn’t it wonderful for you to have Lily Belle and Alfie now? And how knid of you to adopt, especially hearing Alfie’s story. It’s good to hear that Alfie is starting to feel safe and is slowly warming up to men. Please keep sharing your stories with us. We’d love to see pictures of them, too 💕Toni -

Spoiled rotten? Imagine that!! Lovely. And Gina, Thank You for rescuing dear PeeWee. Please tell us about your life together – how you met, how old PeeWee was when you met, what kind of pet he was …everything. It’s so sad that our pets are only “on loan” to us, and never for long enugh. But Gina, you wouldn’t trade your times with PeeWee for anything, right? I adopt older pets, fall in love with each of them, and while saying goodbye is devastating, I hope I gave them a good aging and end of life filled with care and love. Again, I send you my heartfelt sympathy and hope you will share more with us. Toni -

Renee, I am, we are, so sorry. Saying goodbye is beyond anything, and knowing Gigi, and she you, the way you did, and the relationship you had, makes this time especially hard. What a beauty. Her kindness and intelligence are all expressed in this photo. Gigi knew you loved her. She would want you to honor your shared life by grieving, and being extremely happy and grateful for that, do you think? But that will come later for you. Your pain is deep, and real. I feel it. Renee, please, if you can, join us this Thursday July 20th on Zoom for our group meeting. I think it will help you to talk anout Gigi with our kind, caring and understanding friends. Oh Sigrid, how sad, and to say goodbye to them both within a year is extra painful. I am so very sorry. Please share some photos of Tim and Lulu. Great names! As you know from being in our community for awhile, we’d love to have you join our group meeting July 20th. And a huge Thank You for your work with feral cats. D. who is a frequent participant in the group has insights about her feral cat and think you would enjoy hearing about that. Also Sigrid, thank you for the exquisite urns you create. Besides being treasured keepsakes, I can feel the love in each one. Finally, thank you for your kind support for all of us here.❤️ Toni -

Hi Marina. I am pleased to welcome you to our caring community. My Beauty Girl looked like Scampie. You can see her memorial in our Memorials tab. It’s always heartbreaking to lose a pet, but a sudden loss can be especially jarring and painful. May I ask what happened to Scampie? How long were you together? Do you have pets now?
