Yes, I had her to the dogtor. They did blood work, screening, X-rays, and one other test to the tune of $351 when I told them I had $250. Everything was normal. Sent me home with a bag of solution, a handful of huge needles to give her fluid subcutaneously and two meds. I couldn’t bring myself to use the fluid/ needles. With her being so traumatized and needles hurt, so no. I use a syringe to squirt water in her mouth. When she won’t eat I use puppy milk substitute. And treat her gently, keeping our routine the same, give her lots of love. It brought her around once maybe it’ll work again. I’m getting a consultation with a a respected trainer/communicator. See what happens. I’m trying everything I can to fix her.

Yes Grunt-Grunt will always be next to me. The other day I had it quiet because I was reading my Bible and I heard a snore, then another and another I looked down where she used to lay and saw her laying there sleeping on her pillow. It was just for a second or two and it faded away, but it was enough for me.

Lexie Loo Who’s personality is coming out more and more everyday. It is such a joy to watch her grow in confidence. It’s funny, she will bark at us if we talk in bed for more than a minute or so. I’m grateful that she has started to wake us up if she has to go during the night. I finally found a groomer that I really like after trying 3 others. I have noticed that I’m still grieving strongly for Grunt-Grunt, but am finally able to fully accept Lexie Loo Who into my heart.

Well last weekend my Grunt-Grunt’s eye started getting goobers in it. I thought it was just an infection, and it wouldn’t be too terribly hard to deal with. By Sun evening the goobers had turned yellow/green and had taken over her entire eye. The one that was injured when I rescued her. The earliest I could get her into the vet was Wednesday morning. The vet informed me that due to the extra pressure in that eye it had actually ruptured in the back of it. The vet said that I had 2 options, put her down or do the surgery to remove her eye. Thank God for my Momma and her credit card. The money I had with me would have only covered putting her down, and the vet only allowed payments if it was paid off in 60 days. The surgery was $1200. No way I could pay that off in 2mo. I was panicking, how could this be happening to us? I went to talk to my mom who was in the waiting room, absolutely bawling because I thought I was going to have to put her down. My mom said she would not let this happen to her granddog and put it on her credit card. I have never been so relieved in all my life. She’s an angel. I brought Grunt-Grunt home Thursday afternoon, and she is healing nicely. I’m telling you that from Saturday through Wednesday morning I didn’t sleep because I was cleaning her eye out every hour, to keep the puss from a hard crust on it. When I think about just how close I came to losing my precious Pug because I didn’t have an extra $1200 laying around I start to shake, and cry uncontrollably. I’m going to apply for the Care Credit card, it’s for medical bills. Wish me luck with getting approved. I won’t use it unless there’s a medical emergency, but this way I won’t ever have to make that decision for that reason again. Losing an animal because of their age or because there’s nothing else the vet can do hurts horribly.
