I know how difficult it makes having to make the decision to say goodbye is made by uncaring service. Twice now we have been hurried a long in making the decision and how much time I was given to say goodbye. One dog was put down before I could even get there to say goodbye. You obviously loved Walker very much and that he lived his best life with you. And always remember that between hello and goodbye there was so much love. Much PugLove and many PugHugs Angel Grunt-Grunt and Momma -

I have worrysome news on my newest baby Lexie Loo. She\’s gone from Christmas Eve she ran, and played, and talked to us for an extended period of time just because for the first time ever to on 2/6&7 overnight she went back to being scared, won\’t go outside off leash, only eats when she feels like it, and I have to try a few things on her when she does eat. I put liquid in her food, but on days she doesn\’t eat I have to use a syringe to keep her hydrated. She\’s never alone, so we can\’t figure out what happened to trigger this. Any suggestions?-
Has she been to the doctor? Maybe she has an obstruction. I’d get an exam, blood test and maybe an ultrasound. How old is Lexie Loo now? Keep us posted, please. We’ll be worried with you. Toni

One of my favorite pictures of Walker from several years ago…-
What a cutie. Was Walker a special breed, or breed mix? Long body, short legs…. and those eyes! How alert and kind. As Dana so beautifully says ” Please remember that between hello and goodbye there was so much love.” And in our heads we know that, but our hearts are shattered. That’s why we are here to share not only sympathy and understandng, but ways to deal with the pain of grief. One thing we can do is to deliberately think of a fun or funny time we shared. Like this photo – I hope it brings back memories of what Walker was up to, and that you find smiles before tears with your thoughts. We’re thinking of you, Judith🤗💔Toni

When he was a young dog we did a DNA test on him. He seems to have viszla in him. If you Google it you will see a resemblance. However he was advertised as a cairn.
-
I found Viszla rescues if you are looking to adopt. I can see some Cairn in his picture. How are you doing now, Judith?
-
Not looking to adopt. We have 2 westie girls, 8 years old and 1 cairn schnauzer mix, almost 14. We are getting older and have mobility issues. But we’ve had many dogs throughout the years.
I am doing ok. A lot better than when I first found this group.

You certainly have a big heart and love pets. That’s the only downside to loving our little darlings – they are only on loan to us, never for long enough. But I think the joys of sharing lives with them comes to outweigh the pain of parting. It does take time, talk and sympathy to find a place of gratitude, and we are here for you, Judith. You are a lovely, loving addition to our community and I hope you will extend your own kindness to others here who are healing. I am sending you and yours a {{BIG HUG}}💕Toni

Two years ago today, I said goodbye to my beloved Beauty Girl. She was 13 when we met, had had most of her teeth extracted, and needed medical fostering, which was my intention. But, we fell in love, adopted each other, and shared five wonderful years together. I celebrate her every day ❤️-
I know Toni who ever you loved and lost will be honored to see you again. You are unforgettable.

Every tear is filled with love. And memories. And hopefully, joy for the time you shared. Grief is not linear – it moves in waves, someimes stronger than others. Anniversaries bring up feelings. I hope you can find some smiles before, and along with, your tears. I am sending you a {{BIG HUG}}. Toni -

That is so disturbing, Judith. That must have added to your distress beyond acceptance and I am just so sad and sorry you, Walker and your family had that experience. 💔A few times I have had to go to the hospital, not my vet, and they have a policy that you don’t need an apointment for euthansia, and you receive priority over other patients. They have always been kind, caring and patient, and I am sharing this in case it helps should you need euthanasia agian – you might check what your local hospitals offer. If you can set that aside, or push it behind, I hope you can recall the wonderful years Walker shared with you. I like to think of our time together as a ruler with each year being an inch. You enjoyed so many inches until the fraction at the end that was so hard. I hope that helps you somewhat in thinking of Walker. Judith, please keep sharing your feelings here. We’ll crawl through your grief with you. Toni -

Toni….in answer to your question about the service. We have been to this clinic before and they have been excellent. But on this night I felt they were callous. They have a room for pets that are leaving and on this night it was occupied. I understand that. But they put us in a room with no blanket or anything to make him comfortable. When they brought him to us he was still thrashing. They plopped him in my arms and said hold him. In the middle of our grief and trying to restrain him someone came in to collect payment. It was just not the warm sympathetic feeling we’ve had in the past.I understand that my feelings at the time made me less than understanding. I realize they were busy. But it felt like they just wanted us to be out of their way.
