Wild B.I.R.D. Needs a New Nest (and Your Help!)
Since opening its doors in 2000, Wild B.I.R.D. has sheltered, rehabilitated and released more than 36,000 birds into the parks and open spaces around Denver. Unfortunately, they closed in September.
Wild B.I.R.D. has a goal of opening again sometime in 2015 but they need your help! So far, $200,000 has been raised for their capital fund though they’re still $125,000 short of the necessary funds to start building a new center.
Deborah J. Strimple, Executive Director, said “We get no Federal or State money. Please ask friends and family to help us in our efforts to give back to the Earth and its creatures. The staff, volunteers and birds all thank you so much for all you have done in the past.”

Hey Jim, wow 11 years old and already wants to volunteer?! That’s great. I’m not too familiar with Bristol (or Pennsylvania in general) but I went on the Services finder here on the site and I may have found a few places to get in touch with on this:

Pet’s Best Friend Veterinary Hospital – http://www.petsbestfriendveterinaryhospital.com/Let me know how it goes! Oh, and I double checked the volunteer requirements for Women’s Humane Society… and didn’t see any gender requirements 🙂 Must be like how YMCA/YWCA use gender in their names??
