Hi, Ty for asking. I’m hanging in and healing physically slow but sure. Guess there’s no other way 😁I’d heal faster if I could only find a furry friend that needs me too 😆 If anyone is looking to rehome keep.e in mind. I hope you and everyone here have a great day. 🤗

Hi everyone. I’ve not been on here due to much sadness and injuries. The best friend I adopted wad way to big for me to handle and to no fault of the sweet boy, he bolted to chase a rabbit. I went down broke hip and elbow. I had to make a tough decision to let him return to foster family 😪 Good news is he’s with a wonderful caring family. I’m healing physically but my heart is so heavy and lonely. My heart and prayers go out to all of you who are experiencing loss of your loved ones.
On a lighter note I will eventually look for another best friend/family member. This time I believe I’m going to rescue a cat/kitty I love them too 😁 and probably safer for these brittle bones lol.

        • Oh Valerie…How awful. I understand. I walked a friends’ 9 month large puppy and he pulled the leash and blew out my knee. It was a terrible injury, major surgery and long recovery.. The doctors all said they get a lot of dog related injuries. I wish you a wonderful recovery and strongly recommend you do all of the PT. I adopted an old, toothless, black cat and couldn’t be more in love. She is great company and I think you are right to share your home and heart with a kitty in need. DO tell us what you end up doing. And let us know how you are coming along, Valerie. Glad to have you back in the community ๐Ÿ™‚
          • Valerie, how are you feeling today? Are you healing up okay?

Ty 😊 Casper is a big boob 😂 Patch is happy too I feel it and so does Casper. He’s constantly carrying one of her toys 🤗not his own and he came with plenty! Patch will NEVER be replaced none of them can be. I still cry and miss her so much he’s just helping me deal a little better by sharing more love.

Hi. Checking in with everyone. It\’s been tough and 💔for all of us 🙏 not a lot of people really get it, but I sure do! Patch will be in my heart forever. I\’ve rescued another fur baby and cried wishing they could have been best buds 😪 Patch always loved bigger friends 😁 so this really felt right in memory of Patch. He\’s beautiful with such a gentle soul like my little girl.
                    • Oh Valerie ๐Ÿ™‚ What a nice thing you have done. What is his name? He’s gorgeous. And yes, big! Patch owns her place in your heart and always will – other loves don’t displace that. But how big-hearted you are to make room for another love. Thank you for sharing. You must keep us posted on how you are, and your adventures with the new pup!

I may not answer everyone individually but always know my heart and tears are with all of you. I literally mean that…I cry reading all of these and my 🙏 are always with you.

                        • Oh Boy, Valerie, I get you. I share your feelings when I read about our friends and losses. I so often cry when I I read about the beloved pets who mean so very, very, much to each us.. ….That’s why we are here and why you, and our community, are here – to share and understand, and support one another. Patch is a part of our memories, a part of our home now too. I think it’s loving, and generous and so kind of you to ready yourself to bring another faithful friend into your life. I am so excited to meet your new fur baby ๐Ÿ™‚ You are a delightful animal friend and pet lover. Tell us and share with us when you bring your new baby home. We all get to share your joy!

Just checking in and saying “Hi” to everyone and hoping all is well. I feel Patch all the time and she’s saying “time to share love with another fur baby in need momma” So that’s exactly what I’m going to do for her 😇

Ty. I had a bit of hard time like so many of us but I tried to concentrate on the happy times. This was first holiday without our my little girl. I will keep that chair till it falls in floor 😂 along with her favorite toy dam $tree monkey.. I gave her a piece a piece of ham in that chair yesterday and I could feel her smile. Although neighbors that got together with me are convinced I’m weird 😁

Wishing everyone a happy Easter 🐣🐰 I hope that all the wonderful fur babies get hugs kisses and a special Easter treat. If even just in our 💖 My girl always liked a little ham and veggies 😇

                            • You are so kind to extend your Easter wishes to us, Valerie. Thank you. How are you doing with your missing Patch? Are you still keeping her special chair for her? Your kind words to others mean so much, especially coming from you, who understand so well the pain of parting. Hugs to You.

Hi everyone. I’m trying to be strong, supportive and positive. Today though, for some reason no matter how hard I try I just see patch in her favorite spots and I keep looking there for her and talking to her 😭 Am I cracking up!

                                  • Yes, you are, Valerie, and I completely understand. She is there in many ways and you are feeling her energy left behind. You really are not “cracking up” Honey. You are grieving, feeling her energy, and loving her even though she is not physically there. But, she IS there with you in your heart, soul and memory. The death of a beloved pet is such a deep, strong feeling. Your thoughts and feelings are not crazy – they are indicative of the depth of your love, and the endless bond you have. I do understand, and hope you find a place of gratitude for the great gift of sharing such an enduring love. You are not cracking up in the traditional sense, but you are deeply grieving, and that feels as crazy as the BIG LOVE you have. Valerie, go straight through your feelings – cry, rant…whatever you need, because that is the path to healing, and coming to a place of loving peace, and appreciation for the loving times you shared. I am so very. very sorry for your loss, and so very happy for the love you enjoyed. Please tell us how you are doing, Dear.
                                      • Valerie, I speak to my Riley all the time, I find it comforting, as I’m sure you do when you speak to “Patch” In a way you are keeping her alive in your heart. So no, I don’t think you are “cracking up” I think that speaking to our lost pets is a way for us to cope with their being gone. So keep talking to her, it will help sooth your pain.
                                        • Morning. Ty for your support and understanding. It helps tremendously 🤗

I just don’t believe in breeders when so many need homes. Even at that I get totally disgusted because the $ seems so much more important than a forever loving home. Plus I’ve been judged because I live in an efficiency rather than a mansion. What the hell has that got to do with love, please 😱
                                        • Valerie posted a new activity comment 5 years, 4 months ago

Patchy was not only the love of my love life shew was a registered ESA. She got the same in return. How old was your baby? Can you send me pic? I hope you get to the point you’ll rescue another fur baby in remembrance of your Mindy 💞 I’m looking but not to replace. Never ever happen but maybe fill the void a little.

                                              • Dear Valerie. So many things you bring up: Loving does not have anything to do with environment or life style. It’s the size of the heart, not the house, that matters. Adopting is always a lovely, caring thing to do. Everyone has a purpose. Each animal is a special love, never meant to “replace” another. It’s hard to re-open your heart and home after the devastating pain of losing a beloved pet, but you are very generous to re-open yours to a new love. It is generous, thoughtful and kind of you to extend your sympathy and encouragement to others in our community who are also hurting – it’s why we are here – to support one another with kindness and understanding. Thank you for your sharing, and caring. Let us know if you adopt a new love, and let us know how you are doing.

Hi. I\’m really having a terrible time with this loss. Sounds terrible but I never felt this much pain when I lost my mom or other family. I know it just doesn\’t make sense to most people. I rescued patches mommy not knowing she was pregnant at 7 months old 😳. We did it though they were all great pups and got them all great forever homes. I just couldn\’t let patch go cause so many health problems. She was born dead and the battle insured. I wouldn\’t change one thing. The little girl was a fighter and I wasn\’t giving up either! She died 3 more x and vet said the 4th she wouldn\’t make it. We did 2 more years but then it was time to let her be at peace. Made it almost 10 years but I felt like I was giving up on her and killing her. My head knows better but my heart 💔
                                                          • Valerie, Thank You for saying what I have been thinking, and didn’t know how to say it. Yes, the pain of losing a parent or human friend is devastating, but the death of a beloved pet is more than brutal – it is almost a loss at the cellular level. My mother died of ALS which is one of the cruelest diseases. When she passed it was a relief and release for her, and I miss her to this day, and will every day. But, that is the natural progression – our elders are supposed to proceed us. With our pets, even though we know intellectually, they are only on loan to us, they are always our babies and saying goodbye is never a “good” bye…it is a heart break. I truly get it, as do all of us here in the community. I have tears for you and really hope you will stay with us with your honest and sincere feelings. It is why we are here. We understand and embrace you. I am sending you a HUG. Toni
