Hi everyone. I’ve not been on here due to much sadness and injuries. The best friend I adopted wad way to big for me to handle and to no fault of the sweet boy, he bolted to chase a rabbit. I went down broke hip and elbow. I had to make a tough decision to let him return to foster family ???? Good news is he’s with a wonderful caring family. I’m healing physically but my heart is so heavy and lonely. My heart and prayers go out to all of you who are experiencing loss of your loved ones.
On a lighter note I will eventually look for another best friend/family member. This time I believe I’m going to rescue a cat/kitty I love them too ???? and probably safer for these brittle bones lol. View

Valerie, Thank You for saying what I have been thinking, and didn’t know how to say it. Yes, the pain of losing a parent or human friend is devastating, but the death of a beloved pet is more than brutal – it is almost a loss at the cellular level. My mother died of ALS which is one of the cruelest diseases. When she passed it was a relief and release for her, and I miss her to this day, and will every day. But, that is the natural progression – our elders are supposed to proceed us. With our pets, even though we know intellectually, they are only on loan to us, they are always our babies and saying goodbye is never a “good” bye…it is a heart break. I truly get it, as do all of us here in the community. I have tears for you and really hope you will stay with us with your honest and sincere feelings. It is why we are here. We understand and embrace you. I am sending you a HUG. Toni
I know how you feel I just lost my little girl Mindy last month and it still hurts really bad I had her cremated so she would be with me always so my heart goes out to you I’m sending hugs your way they always leave paw prints on our hearts
Ty and I’m so sorry your baby crossed bridge ๐ญ hopefully ours and so many others playing happily together ๐ฆ๐. I got to find peace somehow. My eyes are basically swollen shut fro being such a baby!
My eyes are swollen a lot to my friend I have to find peace to but its hard right now I am going to rescue a little dog again because I know my little Mindy would want me to give love to another like I did her when I’m ready I will
Patchy was not only the love of my love life shew was a registered ESA. She got the same in return. How old was your baby? Can you send me pic? I hope you get to the point you’ll rescue another fur baby in remembrance of your Mindy ๐ I’m looking but not to replace. Never ever happen but maybe fill the void a little.
I just don’t believe in breeders when so many need homes. Even at that I get totally disgusted because the $ seems so much more important than a forever loving home. Plus I’ve been judged because I live in an efficiency rather than a mansion. What the hell has that got to do with love, please ๐ฑ
Dear Valerie. So many things you bring up: Loving does not have anything to do with environment or life style. It’s the size of the heart, not the house, that matters. Adopting is always a lovely, caring thing to do. Everyone has a purpose. Each animal is a special love, never meant to “replace” another. It’s hard to re-open your heart and home after the devastating pain of losing a beloved pet, but you are very generous to re-open yours to a new love. It is generous, thoughtful and kind of you to extend your sympathy and encouragement to others in our community who are also hurting – it’s why we are here – to support one another with kindness and understanding. Thank you for your sharing, and caring. Let us know if you adopt a new love, and let us know how you are doing.
