    Hello all,
This is a hard day for me…..it\’s been 6 months ago today that I lost my boy, Romeo. I just can\’t believe that he\’s been gone this long. I don’t even remember living through these last months because it\’s been a blur. I know I have, but, I just go through the motions every day because I have no choice. Each day is the same, over and over with no purpose anymore. I am still so lost without him and I just wish I wouldn\’t wake up anymore because I know I won\’t see him. This is not living! Romeo was my entire reason for living. He was the reason I got out of bed every day and now he is gone. I can\’t accept it.
I don\’t want to hear people tell me what I should do or what I need to do or that I ought to be over this by now because IM NOT! I wont ever get over it no matter what, no matter how long I live. I don’t want to hear that Romeo would be sad to know how hard I am grieving or that his soul will never rest in peace until I let him go. I cant let him go, I will never let him go. There is no letting go. My life is crap and empty and I don\’t have any desire to do anything or go anywhere or see anyone. It\’s over and I just want to be left alone because that\’s the way I want it.

I\’ve been very grateful to have this platform to come to and I thank all who have been there for me, especially Toni. I appreciate all the kind words you have said to me. I\’m just lost.

I love you my Romeo and a life without you is no life at all . I will miss you till the day I die. I am broken never to be whole again. 💔 💔

    • Maureen, you are always welcome here. Your kind, caring support of others means so much, and I hope you find some level of comfort knowing our community is here for you. {{💔}}.Toni
      • Maureen, you can get thru this too. My ears are open and my heart is here for you. I know it’s tough on you. Blessings to you. I hope you find your peace soon. Brony
        • Don’t be lost…I will do everything in my power to give you purpose. . You seem like a wonderful person and Romeo knew that, he felt it. Chin up okay?
          • Brony, thank you so much for your kindness. I can’t believe the way I am feeling, even after 6 months of losing Romeo. I have been trying to keep my chin up and sometimes I seem to be on my way to getting better, but, then I crash. I am just having a hard time is all. I appreciate your willingness to help me find purpose. I just don’t have one, but, maybe, my purpose is me now to just go on each day and live. I guess I just have to accept that now I must find a way to do that alone.
Thank you so much, Brony, you are very sweet to care. ❤️
            • Toni, I know I’m welcome here, but, thank you for saying that. I try my best to be there for others whenever I can. I am a caretaker by nature and feel happiest when I have someone to take care of. Romeo was that for me these last 14.5 years and even though I knew he was aging, I didn’t expect him to die the way he did. There wasn’t time to react and he was gone before I realized what was happening. That’s not the way it was supposed to be. So, I think that is why I am still having a hard time. I am working on trying to get to a better place.
              Thank you so much ❤️
              • You aren’t alone. I lots my cat Sweetness 8 months ago, and I know it’s hard to lose a pet. I’m never going to get over Sweetness. It takes time .. there’s good days and bad days.. and it’s never easy. But things will eventually get better for you. Romeo will always be in heart .
                • Maureen, it’s good that you are identifying some of the specific reasons your grief is so unrelenting. Not being able to say goodbye is a terrible thing. It denies us the chance to bid farewell and say again how much we love them. Romeo was well loved by you all his life and he knew that, do you think? We all wish for a slow, gentle passing (for our pets and ouselves) but it doesn’t always happen that way and we struggle to adjust to the sudden change in everything about our lives without our beloved. I think you are coming up from the depths and hope you allow yourself to include good memories of the long, loving life you shared. We’ll crawl along beside you. {HUGS} Toni
                  • Karen, I am so sorry for your loss of Sweetness 😞 You’re right, it is so hard to lose our pet. The unconditional love they give us is like no other. This grief is unbearable and I am not having an easy time of it at the moment.
Thank you for your kindness. I’m sending you hugs to comfort you atbthis very sad time. Peace be with you. 💔
                    • Toni, thank you so much for your kindness once again. You are so very kind and thoughtful. It is hard to accept the way Romeo passed. I feel denied of the opportunity to say goodbye. It is something I will never get over. I will continue to try and come to terms with that. In the meantime, I will “crawl” along and I thank you for you all for being there with me. ❤️
