Toni I’m so very sorry. I know your heartache. It’s our selfishness to keep them with us because we love them so very much. But we love them so much to give them peace when they are hurting and their sweet little bodies are failing them. I know how empty and sad you will feel. My heart is with you today and the coming days Toni. I’m wrapping my arms around you in a big hug. I’m coming up on 7 months since I lost Chloe and I still have moments of tears. They are a big part of our family. You mentioned 5 years, was your baby a rescue? Could you share a picture and tell me about her? Thinking of you…💔💕 -

I’m sorry Toni you’re going through the heart wrenching season with your girl. It’s so hard to watch and accept, I’m so sorry. I guess you’ll know when it’s time and your heart will break and ache. They are such a important part of our family. Just today I ran Across a site that asked the question, “do you have a pet that has captured your heart more than another?” Don’t get me wrong, I’m a die hard animal lover! We are snowbirds, do the RV thing just so our girls can be with us! But I have never had a pup like little Chloe, that Captured my heart so completely. She was always in my arms or on my lap! All 4 lbs of her! Followed me everywhere. I just feel so lost and incomplete without her!! I just don’t know how adjust without her….💔 -

My heart is still trying to heal with the loss of my baby girl Chloe last Aug. Yes I still have Sophie and Daisy, but there’s still an emptiness in my heart. My little deaf baby girl took a piece of my heart and soul with her! 💔-
Oh Jeri, we understand. It hasn’t been very long since Chloe passed, especially the way she did, which was so hard for you to see. I really understand because my girl has had two seizure-like events and it is absolutely terrifying. She has also become deaf (and blind). I almost let her go yesterday but she rallied. It’s touch and go, and like it was for you with Chloe, it’s heartbreaking. So Jeri, let yourself grieve, and share your feelings with us. We’re here for you. And, I hope Sophie and Daisy bring you great joy and love. Stay in touch. Toni -

Thank you Jeri. I’m taking her today at noon. Yes, the tears come from deep within, but she deserves a peaceful exit. We’ve been treating her multiple health challenges for over a year but she’s failing and I am sure she is not going to improve. She’s losing weight, has more blood in her stool, is vomiting more…the list goes on. I am grateful for our five years together. Heartbroken to my core. And thankful for your support and understanding. -

Thank you for your kind words, I just have to find a way to work through this. I’m reading some books now to try and help me. I’ve had other pets pass, but she’s been so very hard for me. -

This past summer after many tests, we discovered she had a liver shunt, plus Microvascular dysphasia of the liver, gallbladder stones and bladder stones. Her attacks with the liver shunt were coming closer and closer together. They told us she needed to have corrective surgery for the liver shunt. We had it done on Aug 6. , Friday, we brought her home Saturday. Sunday we were rushing her back to the hospital at noon. She was having Grand Mall seizures. They worked through the night to get them under control, when we came back on Monday morning, my poor baby girl was brain damaged and her eyes were just blinking and legs going, she didn’t even know we were there.. it was a horrible death for my sweet baby. I can’t for get it out of my head and heart… even though she didn’t feel good at the end she was always such a happy and loveable little girl. God I miss her.. -

Remember 4 years, 7 months agoAugust 9, 5 months ago yesterday, I lost my sweet baby girl Chloe. She was my heart and soul. She was was a tiny girl,
4 lb and deaf from birth. Only 6 years old. My heart was not ready to say goodbye…. Still heart broken…-
Oh Jeri, Chloe was so darn cute. Hard to believe she was deaf with those big ears! My old cat has become deaf and blind this year, but she’s getting around okay. I don’t think it’s been very long since you and Chloe parted, so I hope you are kind to yourself and know you can grieve and share with us. I’m sending you a big {{HUG}}

I am so sorry for your loss of Chloe. Five months go I lost my precious Missy. It is so difficult. Please be patient with yourself and know that others care. Hugs and prayers.

Jeri, this is a terrible story and was a horrific time for all of you. Poor little Chloe. She was so lucky to have you provide such care and love. Sometimes there’s just nothing for it and exiting this world is a welcome gift. That’s what happened for Chloe. Of course you can’t forget it because of the way you saw her, but I suspect she was not aware after the seizures and brain event. One of the absolutely magnificent things about our pets is their stoicism, they don’t complain, and I try to take inspiration from them and follow suit. There is no time line or prescribed way to grieve, and it’s totally okay to laugh and smile with her memories as you move through. I an here, as is the community, so stay in close touch. I’d love to see some more pictures if you would share them? Here’s is a {{HUG}} as big as Chloe’s ears 🙂

Jeri, we have a book/journal in our shop: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/shop/griffins-heart-pet-loss-book/
It was written by Reagan Pasternak – perhaps you know her from her career as an actress – who created it to help her through her own grief of losing her most beloved Griffin. Some of our members have found it helpful, and you may too. We also have a pet grief counselor available if you would like to speak with him:
https://heartfeltfarewells.com/
Of course, we are all here for, and with you, to share your feelings. We get it. We understand. We care. Let us know how you are doing, Jeri.
