Toni – I know I should take care and time for myself. Right now, if I slow down memories hit me & I can’t stop crying- then I’m no good for anyone. I have PTSD & it’s in overdrive now but I let my dachshunds help me by sitting in my lap or giving me kisses. -

Mom is doing fine. I’m exhausted. I’m working and trying to keep things going & now a energetic you dog added in the mix is more stress but sometimes I do get a laugh -

I know your cats were glad you got another one to fill the void they left in your heart.
Bella is trying to make me smile & laugh- sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn’t. It will take time. -

Thank you Suzanne. I lost two doxies in under four months in 2019, one last year & now Coco.
I know getting another dog that needed another home & love is what Coco wants- but it’s hard to adjust to a younger dog after a senior. -

Thank you! I spent the night in the ER with Mom last night- she fell & busted her nose open requiring stitches. -

Lol. That was an event for one of our shelters to raise funds at a local nursery at last year’s Easter. -

They were calling her Troubles but I’m calling her Bella. I have had dachshunds since I was a little girl. This is a photo of Baylie & Coco.-
How fabulous of you, Regina, to share with so many dachs. They sure are cute and have a lot of personality. Who’s the big rabbit :-)??? -

I went to a animal shelter Saturday and adopted this girl who needed a home. They said she’s about a year old dachshund/lab mix. She’s super sweet but she’s a big goof ball – just full of herself & life. I think Cricket & Coco would approve. My other dogs are slowly starting to accept her. It’s still hard. At least her world will be better.-
She is super cute 🙂 Looks like a fun goofball, and you look very happy. How kind of you to keep your home and heart open to more love. What’s her name? Tell us about your other pus, too. Congrats to you all!

Regina, I’m so sorry to hear that Coco crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I know that grief and pain having lost two fur babies in less then two months. I’m also very happy for you that you’ve found another beautiful girl Bella, who is in need of a loving fur ever home. I’m sure Coco will be very pleased to know you were able to find room in your heart in the midst of your grieving and pain at Coco’s passing. I told my two girls as I said my tearful goodbyes to them that I would adopt two more cats, in their memories, who need a loving fur ever like they once did.

Coco was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in April & my mom was diagnosed with dementia in May. I am existing. I don’t have time to do anything for myself. We have several people off this week at work – so I’m having to be strong & show up at work.
It’s hard to sleep, because Coco used to sleep with me. I see where she used to lay in the house- it’s so hard.
I know Coco is happy to be with her momma Joy again. -

I lost Coco Friday. She had congestive heart failure and wasn’t eating. She lost 10 lbs in 2 days. So I let her go to be with her Momma Joy who let me have her sweet baby while she was in the hospital. Ten days later, Momma Joy passed away & I kept Coco for 4 wonderful years. She was with me when I lost my other dogs.
This is 4 dogs in 3 years I lost & my heart is so broken!-
Regina, that is so tough – so much loss and sadness, and in such a short time. You must be aching and empty, and emotionally exhausted. What are you doing to take care of yourself? I hope knowing we are here for you brings you some comfort. Please let us know how you are. I’ll be thinking of you. Toni

Oh Regina, my girl slept tucked under my chin every night and when she died I was fortunate to have a stuffed cat that I tucked in. Obviously that’s not a replacement but it sure helped me.
Geez, it seems like dark clouds really do “gather” and come in groups. I am so sorry for what you are going through, and you WILL go through it all, but it’s wearying on every level for you now. Please, try to take some moments for yourself – to grieve but also to find a bit of joy or humor. We’re here. Keep reaching out to us, and know I am thinking of you. -

Oh Regina, you have got to make a ew moments for yourself. I do know that is easier said than done, but we don’t want you to get sick – you can’t be a help to anyone then. Good to hear about your Mother. It’s nice you still have her. But it’s hard. And caring for pets is a big responsibility. Can you get someone to give you hand or a break? Please, keep us posted. Thinking about you.

Crying is exhausting but serves an important purpose – carrying toxins out of our system (similar to perspiration). You have so much piled on right now, and you are doing a great job moving forward. Let your pups help you the way you are helping so many others. And if you can find someone to give you a hand, that would be a help. We’re here for you. {{HUG}}
