    It’s a miracle. About noon on Saturdaythe doorbell rang. Upon answering it our darling Scarlet ran back in. She is thin and has none of her jacket or harness but she is in good shape. So 9 days after seemingly disappearing she was just walking home when a neighbor spotted her. She got out of her car and walked with scarlet back home. Wow what a blessing. After a lot of small meals yesterday and a bath…. Stinky!!…. She is a happy little camper.

    Thanks to all near and far for the support.

    Here is a picture of her next to her sister…. She lost 4 pounds.

    • ooohhh… that is something… I wonder if someone had her, or if she was hiding somewhere. We’ll probably never know. But that was then, that happened, and now you are reunited! What a great end to a harrowing event. We are all so happy and grateful, Hilary. Thank you for letting us know, and sharing these photos. Please send more of them so we can see how she and her sister (name?) are doing. Another {HUG} for you all 🙂
      • I am glad to hear. I know how scary that can be. She’s adorable.

        Great news! About lunchtime the doorbell rang. I opened the door and a neighbor said she saw ScArlet, pulled her car over, then walked back with her to the house. scarlet was walking straight back to our home. So she is back!!! 9 days and other than being thin, smelly and a little scratched up, she is fine. Thanks to all for the good vibes. It must have weighed into how she miraculously got home.

        • OH MY GAWD!!!!! How FABULOUS!!!! I was telling a friend about Scarlet and she knew of a cat who came home after 4 months, so I have been hopeful for you, Hilary. You must show us before and after pictures of Scarlet!! How absolutely wonderful. So happy for you all {HUGS}

          Thank you Toni and FF community! Scarlet is not home with us. We had a bunch of snow this weekend (well, for Delaware that is 4-5 inches). It did cover everything up making searching a bit tougher. But it really cranked up our investigation of any fox holes or anything where Scarlet could go deep or under something. We have checked the parcel of land behind our house again and again. Our dear friend (you know that “family” member who isn’t blood but is like family) got us in touch with some pet communicators/ psychics. We searched based on their suggestions but no luck. It wasn’t anything that was a revelation but they seemed to think Scarlet was still alive so it gave us a day of hope. Nikki surprised us and came down from NJ yesterday so we spent the day rummaging through the woods and anything that an animal could maneuver itself into. No luck. We have left, however, no stone unturned…..literally.

            sorry but no. We last saw her on Thursday about noon. Right now it is Saturday mid day and we had a bunch of snow last night. We are hopeful someone has her since we haven’t seen any signs of her collar, leash, jacket or harness. Prayers. Thank you for asking.

              Thanks and we do hope that someone has her. Unfortunately we have had a bitter night last night with snow, so if she is out in this, we hope she is hunkered down and pops up soon. Take care.

                As of Saturday at 10 am Scarlet is unfortunately not with us. We have flyers out in the community (pet store, vets, shops) and have flyers in mailboxes in all connecting neighborhoods. We are hopeful someone has her since we have not found any signs of her reflective collar, leash, harness or jacket. Seeing none of that makes us thing someone has her and we just haven’t connected the dots. Say a prayer. Hug your fur babies tight.

                      MISSING DACHSHUND – Thursday about 11:30 am. Area of Sanford Ridge in Hockessin. Behind 14 Equestrian Circle. The neighborhood backs up to BELLE VISTA. We have folks out looking in both neighborhoods. Last seen she is a red doxie wearing a collar, red harness, red jacket and reflective green leash. If she wiggled out and is naked then she is a red/brown color. She is friendly and is SCARLET. She is chipped.

                        • Hilary, let us know when you find Scarlet. To our friends in the Delaware area, keep an eye out for Scarlet please 🙂
                          • Hilary- what’s the status of Scarlet? You must be either frantic, or, hopefully, relieved. My neighbor’s cat was gone for ten days and then showed up! Keep us posted. We’re here for you ……

                              • Thank you for the update, Hilary. Not what we wanted to hear, nor what you want to report. My neighbor’s cat was away for ten days and sauntered back in, and I’ve had a cat and dog who were gone for over a week and both came home the same day. So let’s stay hopeful. You are all doing your best and I know we all are sending positive energies your way. Keep us posted. {{HUGS}}
                                • Hilary, any good news about Scarlet yet? Do you think she was ‘catnapped’ or is hanging out with someone?
                                  • Sending prayers that you find Scarlet.
                                    • Sending you positive thoughts for Scarlet to come home to you. The not knowing is torture, I know. Hugs to comfort you during this difficult time. 🥺🐾
