• Hello everyone. To those of you who have lost a beloved, faithful companion,I am so sorry for your loss.I understand your grief. My 15 year old Mama cat, whom I have had since she was 7 weeks old,was struck and killed by a car November 11,2021.I am lost without her.

    • I know what you mean.Just remember the good times
      • How nice of you, Dianne. The sympathy and understanding of our community is what makes us work and care together to heal, and remember the loves and joys we were lucky enough to share. I think of Mama Cat (George) often, especially since I said goodbye to my old beloved girl two weeks ago. Always sending you {{HUGS}} Toni
      • Toni, I am so sorry to hear about your beautiful baby.I understand how you feel.Sending love and hugs.

      • I am doing well.I have to.Yes I miss my sweet mama cat,but she is in a much better place now.

        • I am so happy to hear this, Dianne. I saw my beauty this morning, but not since, Every day I expect I won’t, but so far she eventually wakes up and we snuggle and love together, but she’s not doing too well. I’m where you were with George – evaluating when it’s just not fun or comfortable being her, and it’s in her best interest to help her pass peacefully. It sure is tough. Glad you are doing better – that encourages us all.
        • I am slowly getting better from mama cat’s passing.I always visit her where I buried her.
To all the pet parents who have lost a beloved fur baby,I am sorry for your loss.

          • This is so good to hear, Dianne. It does take time to heal and I am glad you are updating us. You are so kind to share your sympathies with others. It means so much to know we’re not alone in grief, and recovery. Stay well, and in touch. Toni

Tay,thank you.I try really hard to move forward, but it is hard to when I found her at 7 weeks old, when she fit in the palm of my hand.

Hi Toni.I took a hard fall on Monday, and I have an L-1 compression fracture, but a hairline fracture in my lower back.
                  • Hello.Well today, has been two months since my mama cat was hit and killed by a car.I miss her dearly, but life goes on.I am adjusting to her not being around anymore.Yes my heart aches, but she is no longer in pain.

                    • I know, Dianne. My girl is still failing and I’m trying to remember what a lovely life she has enjoyed, and that when she passes she will be comfortable, rather than how terribly empty and sad my home and heart will be. You hang in there – it hasn’t been very long for you.
                      • I’m so sorry to hear. It’s going to take some time but I’m glad to hear you’re able to keep moving forward.
                        • Tay,thank you.I try really hard to move forward, but it is hard to when I found her at 7 weeks old, when she fit in the palm of my hand.
                          • But every day gets just a little better.
                          • I am slowly getting better with regards to my mama cat.It has been really rough, but day by day, I carry on.
To the pet parents who have lost precious fur babies,I am deeply sorry for your losses.

                            • It’s good to hear from you, Dianne, and that you are finding some relief. It takes as long as it takes and you will always have little reminders of her. Hopefully those memories will bring you more joy than sorrow soon. How are your others doing now?

Yes,my 10 year old granddaughter lives four houses away from me.
                              • So my Christmas was great.I fell nine days ago in my laundry room, straight down on my backside.I went to the ER and I have an L-1 compression fracture. So basically I cannot do anything.I cannot bend over, stoop down,or walk my dog.It hurts when I cough.
So I am basically bed bound, unless I have to go somewhere.

                              • For those pet parents who have lost a precious fur baby,I am sorry for your loss.I understand how you feel.
                                Sending love and prayers.(((hugs)))
                                Dianne

                              • Hi Toni.I am alright, considering I took a bad fall Monday night on my wet, laundry room floor, which is just temporary sub-floor.I landed on my backside and I am in tremendous pain.Nothing broken. But as far as it being Christmas Eve Eve,and the fact that my mama cat is not here, I am doing well.
                                Merry Christmas Toni.

                                • Oh my gawd, Dianne. Have you been to a doctor? Geez….I am so sorry. Let us know how you are doing. A friend and neighbor of mine died tonight. Holidays make everything more intense. I hope you heal up okay.
                                • Hello to all of the new pet parents who are here.I am so sorry for your loss, and I completely understand how you feel
My 15 year old mama cat got out of my house and was struck and killed by a car on the 11 of November,so I completely understand your heartaches.
I am taking the death of my mama cat better ever day,but in baby steps.Welcome, and I am sorry for your losses.

                                  • You are so kind to share your sympathies while dealing with your own loss, Dianne. I think it helps us to reach out to others who are also grieving, and your words of understanding mean a lot. I think of you and George all the time, so I am glad to hear how you are doing. Let’s try to have a nice holiday, Dianne. We’re always here so let us know what’s up. Toni
                                  • I am getting better, slowly over my Mama cat’s death.I will always feel guilty that she somehow got out of the house without anyone knowing, but,in my heart, I believe it was her way of getting “out”.When I walk at night around the neighborhood with my granddaughter I swear I still see Mama cat’s spirit sitting at the end of my driveway. And it isn’t just one time, but all of the time.I just “hope” she holds no grudges against me when she got hit and killed by a car. Will the guilt ever go away??

                                    • I’ve been thinking about you a lot today, Dianne. You had scheduled, and cancelled, giving George the gift of a peaceful passing, and I am in that place now with my Beauty Girl. We were at the doctor again yesterday, and the doc and I spoke at length today. It’s clear she is failing – deaf, blind and dumb now – but not clear she is actually unhappy or uncomfortable. She gets around fine, and unlike George, is eating. BUT… with all of her other health issues, and being almost 18, I do think it’s close to time to share the gift of relief and release. I’ll keep everyone posted about that. I am, like almost everyone here, finding tears from deep within at the slightest thing. Having you all here to understand and go through it with us is so very meaningful, and I thank you all.

Hi Toni.I cherished George very much.It is hard to have senior pets and not knowing when there will be a time when they don’t wake up.Because George was fading, rapidly, I intended on having her put to sleep, but she went her way,on her terms.I do believe that kiss on my cheek, the Sunday before she had her accident, washer way of telling me goodbye, and she loved me.She has never kissed me on my face where I actually felt her tongue.I believe too,it was her way of thanking me for all of the years we had together, and I am forever honored to be George’s mom.
