A memorial I made for Dexter. His collar, dog tag, a couple name plates and some of his ashes. I miss you buddy
    • Chuck, this is so lovely, and loving. You may find a Memory Vessel meaningful. There are two compartments for fur or remains, along with a USB Flash Drive for photos. They are a nice way to keep physical and digital memories together. I don’t know if a pendant of blown glass with Dexter’s remains is something you might treasure, but Forever-in Glass pieces are so unique, and incorporate remains in hand-blown art work. You can look in the Shop area of our community to find these, and other comforting memorials if you want. Chuck, I am so glad you found us, and that you are a part of our family of pet lovers. You know we’re here for you. Toni

Juno before she got liver failure. She was only 5 years old. Worst Labor Day weekend.
      • Oh Wendy, I am so sorry. How did you find out what was wrong with Juno? Were there symptoms? Are you doing better? Toni
          • I took her to the veterinarian. Her symptoms were throwing up, barely eating and losing weight. Not really doing better. My husband got me a new puppy about 2 weeks later. That I really didn’t want but I do love him. But I still talk to my Juno. I did make a blanket with her favorite pictures on it.

My 2 little boys, brothers, Axl and Slash. Just over 1 year old…
          • Rock-n-Roll Cats! Heavy metal…paws to the pedal. How cute. Did you adopt them? Love the ‘catitude.
              • I got the brothers from my next door neighbor. She took in a stray female about to have babies and she had 7… A true Motley Crue (pun intended, although wrong band). They were a year old in August, and Axl, was the runt, at the time, only Half the size of Slash. Well, NOW, the rides have turned completely, and he is the biggest of all 7, and weighs 18 lbs, to Slash’s 11!
BTW… Axl is blondish, fat, and cant sing and Slash is the bad-ass rocker with the great Rock n Roll hair, of course.

I was sure that I didn\’t want anymore dogs after Cherry passed, but I was wrong. These 2 beauties are my rescues, Ben & Freyja.
              • Melissa, as we say “Who rescued whom?”, right? This is just lovely to see, and for you, and Ben & Freyja. Are they litter mates? How old are they? What breed, if any? I’m so happy for you all!
                  • No, not litter mates. Ben is Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix & Freyja is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Both of them are 3 yrs old.

I got Mr pudders for mothers day in 2000 from my boys .I lost him in June 2020.Mama Dew I lost to kidney failure she was pudders best friend. Storm was my husband\’s best friend she died 8 yrs ago.
                  • Dear Cristy, Wow – you obviously take very good care of your pets. What a long life Mr. Pudders enjoyed with you. It’s so hard when they have been through so many of life’s ups and downs with us, but how wonderful for them, and us, to have had so many years together. I understand kidney failure is common in certain pets, and I’m sorry for what Mama Dew, and you, had to go through. It’s heartbreaking to see them failing. Storm is beautiful and I am sure your husband misses Storm. Do you have other pets now, I hope?
                    • Christy – Lots of cats?! You are my kind of gal…I love cats (and dogs, of course). I had three cats that all literally adopted me by walking in my house, at different times. I figure they have a network that tells them which home is welcoming, or something. Can you show us pictures of Shadow, Kayde and the cats? …How many cats do you have now? This will be really fun to see and follow. 🙂

I just rescued a new fur baby. Her name is Lily and we love her so much already!

                      • Vicki, don’t be a tease – tell us about Lily :-). Any pictures we can see? How wonderful for you both.
                          • I have been looking for another chihuahua as a friend for my little chi I have now. Her name is Pixie. She is also a rescue. I placed an ad in our local classified and someone contacted me that they had a chi they could no longer keep. The rest is history!
                              • That is such a good story, Vicki. Most breeds have Rescues that can also be a resource for finding an adoptee. The Find Services tab on our site has Rescues and Shelters that can be located in your are by entering your zip code. Now, will you show us Pixie ( love that name) and your other Chi? 🙂

I lost my Jasmine 9 days ago. She was 15. I had her since she was 4 weeks old. Life is so hard without her.
                            • Oh Jaime, you made me cry. My toothless, old (17) sick cat looks just like Jasmine. She is being treated for a few progressive conditions and I anticipate her leaving me in the not too distant future, so seeing your Jasmine really touches me. What happened to Jasmine? Do you feel torn – that you both shared a wonderful life for which you are so happy, and you knew it would come to this, and now you are just so absolutely SAD to your core? I know, Jaime…. it’s a horribly sad time. Please, tell me how you are doing and stay in touch. I am mourning with you…..Toni
                                • Sorry for the late response. I still cry alot. My daughter helps me I talk about the memories we have had with Jasmine. I cleaned out her water dish and gave the rest of her food in the bowl to my daughters cat Jadye.Jadye is 3 and would try to play with Jasmine. But Jasmine didnt like it she really didnt like other people but us. I walk into the kitchen and still cry. Every morning I would get a wake up call from her to feed canned food. What hurts the most is everytime wenwould open the fridge she would be there yelling at us to give her something like tuna. Everytime I would get a turkey sub from subway she would sit and yell at me to give her some. Sorry I’m just rabbling. Thank you. Prayers for you toothless. How are things going?
                                    • I have experienced, as I’m sure others have, just what you are talking (you are not rambling – it’s an outpouring of emotion ) about. It’s the little daily things that really trip you up – the tuna, the sandwich, the trip to the store for cat food and realizing you don’t need any…it makes it very real. And Jaime, it’s only been a few days, not even two weeks. Of course you are crying and sad and mourning. Of course. Please let it out with us. We are here for you. Hugs, Toni
                                  • I am so sorry

Wasn\’t going to get another pet after my Maax passed away. But, this one stole my heart.
                                    • Well, Angie, I can certainly see why! What a face, and those eyes! Who is this? How old? Tell us all about your new friend. It’s so generous, kind and loving to open your heart again. Good for you. Thank you for sharing.

Still in disbelief that i lost my bella. She was my rock. She was by my side through everything. 12 years with my beautiful baby. Still cry daily. When does it get better?
                                      Heartbroken

                                      • Dawn, I posted the same question – when does the crying stop? It does, of course, but why is this so, so painful? I think because it’s so loving. Because they gave us so much love. Because we love them so much. Tears are a release, a cleansing function, and just don’t have to stop until they do. That’s it – they will stop when they do. And they will come back when they do, but over time, your smiles will precede your tears, and one day, you will have more smiles than tears…you will, and that doesn’t mean you stopped loving, it means the love you shared is bringing more joy than grief. Dawn, please you must stay in touch with us, cry with us if you want, and know we all are here for you. Toni
