Everything is so empty. My house, my heart. I have created a memorial for her and your words of support there will be so welcome if you care to. I am just devastated.

Sorry for your loss Toni. We grow attached so quickly to our pets & when we lose them it is heart breaking. I still grieve for the 2 shepherds I lost in July 2021. I look @ their pics & try to remember good, happy, fun times w/them.

Randy, how dear of you, and I really appreciate your kind words. You told us so nicely about Ranger and Axel and I hope soon I can do the same about my beloved girl. Toni, I’m just so heartbroken for you at the loss of your girl. You, and the rest of this community, were so caring and supportive when I lost my buddy, Rascal in 2020. The pain at first is just searing, and I wondered if I would ever catch my breath again. Thank you and this community for walking through the pain with me. I hope you are doing a little better each day and that you will heal as you continue to help all of us. Please know that you are loved.

Oh Gail, you have made me cry with your own kind words and I thank you so much for your generous contribution to help keep our community going. I’m doing it alone and need some support to cover costs. Thank you for helping us help others…and now me, as I move through this truly ‘searing’ pain. Here is another {HUG} for you. Something really cool happened tonight: I was sitting on the ottoman in my den where BG and I often sat, and the remote went to “0”. I hadn’t touched it, and have never hit zero before. She often stepped on it and changed the channel so I figure her energy came for a fanny scratch and belly rub. At least, that’s what I’m going with. I really did not touch it. I always say, and I know, intellectually she was so sick and I doubt she would be with me now, and she had a very peaceful passing, but the depth of pain from the emptiness and loss of her company are so deep. You have really touched me and, yes brought tears, but also comfort. Thank you again, Gail.

Thank you Jeri. I’m taking her today at noon. Yes, the tears come from deep within, but she deserves a peaceful exit. We’ve been treating her multiple health challenges for over a year but she’s failing and I am sure she is not going to improve. She’s losing weight, has more blood in her stool, is vomiting more…the list goes on. I am grateful for our five years together. Heartbroken to my core. And thankful for your support and understanding. -

Oh Jeri, we understand. It hasn’t been very long since Chloe passed, especially the way she did, which was so hard for you to see. I really understand because my girl has had two seizure-like events and it is absolutely terrifying. She has also become deaf (and blind). I almost let her go yesterday but she rallied. It’s touch and go, and like it was for you with Chloe, it’s heartbreaking. So Jeri, let yourself grieve, and share your feelings with us. We’re here for you. And, I hope Sophie and Daisy bring you great joy and love. Stay in touch. Toni -

It is so hard, Steve, and I too am so very sad and sorry for your parting from Molly. In our heads we know one thing, but our hearts scream out another. Six months is not very long to grieve. In fact, there is no timeline for that. I think being kind to ourselves, not second-guessing or laying on a guilt trip is helpful. Molly knew you loved her, and of course you miss her deeply. I don\’t want to bring everybody down but I almost gave my angel her wings today. Her 18th birthday is March 13. She has been on meds for blood pressure, thyroid, internal inflammatory disease, and you may have seen this photo of catupuncture for her kidneys. She is now blind and deaf. But….she\’s been doing well. However, last night she had her second frightening event in two months where she was either choking or having a seizure. I took her to the doctor today. It seems likely it\’s a neurological condition. She continues to lose weight. It\’s time to give her a final gift of peace and relief, and today I was ready (as one can be) and then she started meowing and seemed engaged and I just couldn\’t take that path. I am trying to do only what\’s best for her – it\’s not about me. We\’re home together for tonight. Heartbreaking…….. -

It’s so hard when we don’t know what happened to them. I like to think my Chivo (who went out one night and never returned) was cat-napped. I checked all the shelters and hospitals and drove the streets looking and calling for her. I’m sure you did the same for Teddy. It hurts, and maybe more because you don’t know. I am very, very sorry, D’Etta and hope you will let us know how you are coming along. {{HUG}} -

Dana, I had to take a day or so to reply to your absolutely moving, heartfelt, loving tribute to Ladiebug. You have a talent for story sharing that is touching and inspirational. There is always pain in parting, but knowing Ladiebug was ready to find peace and relief was a gift back to you, do you think, for the kindness, caring and love you shared.
