Good to hear your spirits are up. Does Tidbit wear booties? Sean is having trouble keeping Satchmo’s on and asked if anyone has tips.
-
I tried booties and socks because her feet get so cold she can’t move…but she flicks them off and it takes forever to get them on! LOL
-
hahaha same thing with Satchmo…..BUT he won’t go in the snow without them either! A total Catch 22 lol
-
Benny loves playing in the snow. It’s great.
-
As long as it’s not super cold, she doesn’t mind the snow. She has a coat that I put on her…but when it gets about 15 or below, she doesn’t like it one bit!
-
-
-
I’m going to try to find some better booties. I’ll let you know what I find, and if you find a type that works best, let us know.

So cute! Trying to get in the car – Tidbit drives? π How are you doing, Melissa?
-
LOL..she was trying to that day! It was cold and the snow was over head. She wanted no part of it! π
I’m doing pretty good. I shared some of Shey’s toys with the neighbor’s dog..they were too big for Tidbit…and I have never been able to get Tidbit interested in playing with toys. I am going to try to work with her again now that she doesn’t have a side kick to play with.

By the way Melissa, if you will find comfort sharing Shey’s pictures, and even some back-stories with us, the Memorials tab on the site is for that purpose. We are just building our community but those of us here would love see and share Shey with you.

This is a good thing to explore. I will look around for booties and let you know what I find.

Dear Melissa,
I really am moved and feel sort of good for Shey, and you and your family, knowing Shey was ready to go. It’s nice to have comforting memories in having her always with you. On this site we provide support for this time and if we can help you, your family, or Tidbit please let me know. In the next few days will you let us know how you are all doing, please? We wouldn’t be here with you if we didn’t sincerely care and want to help. Here is a BIG HUG for you! Toni -

What troubles are you having, Sean?
-
a few different things. A) He likes to kick them off and absolutely detests wearing them, BUT when there is slush outside he refuses to move and will lift his front paws up because they are so cold, SO if I have him in those out there he is fineβ¦..the trick is keeping them on. Curious if anyone has any brands they would suggest for smaller dogs?

Toni – let me know, too. I’ve been considering them for Benny.

Dear Melissa,
How are you? Is Shey out of her pain now? If you would like to visit with a pet grief counselor, please let us know and we will introduce you. It helps to acknowledge your feelings – your sadness, and relief for Shey. You have been a great friend to Shey. Please let us know how you are doing. Toni-
Hello, yes Shey is out of her pain. I went and picked up her ashes yesterday so she is home and with us. The vet that I (finally) found that was able to explain all of this to me is really great. The sent me a card with Shey’s paw prints and the redwood urn they sent her home in is so pretty. It has her name on the front.
Tidbit seems to be doing okay, though she still looks for Shey I think. She is getting lots and lots of love and attention.

I understand completely – I had 3 cats adopt me at different times and they were wonderful friends. The last one was 19 when she died. They “know” who will welcome them and I suspect the word goes out in the cat community :-). They slept with me and one of them liked to shower with me, of all things. I’d love to see some pictures of George if you can share them here.

Hi Diane:-) Tell us about you and your pets!
-
My cats name is George. He came through my window a year ago, he was 9 months old . He’s now 2. The person who used to have him wasn’t taking care of him. He decided he didn’t like that anymore, so he came thru my window one cold rainy night , I picked him up, he was so thin. He was just purring away . I have him some water and sliced chicken he got up on my bed curled up and went to sleep. He’s been here for about 1 1/2 years now. He turned 2 in August. Believe it or not he used to live next door but his care giver wasn’t taking care of him. I guess he just got tired of being cold hungry and thirsty. I don’t know what I’d do without him. I love him so much and he’s very spoiled and weighs about 16lbs now.

I don’t think I can put his pic up. I’m on a kindle. I have his pics on my Facebook page.

Maybe a “dog behaviorist” can help socialize them, especially the Husky. In the “services’ tab on this site there is a drop-down menu and you should find “Animal Behavior Specialist” in your area. Let us know what happens. They are really beautiful.
