I am so happy to hear this, Dianne. I saw my beauty this morning, but not since, Every day I expect I won’t, but so far she eventually wakes up and we snuggle and love together, but she’s not doing too well. I’m where you were with George – evaluating when it’s just not fun or comfortable being her, and it’s in her best interest to help her pass peacefully. It sure is tough. Glad you are doing better – that encourages us all. -

Oh Randy, it’s so hard to look at their wonderful faces, and eyes, and know they are gone. I’m sad, too. But, that’s the deal we make going in – they are only “on loan” to us and one day we have to say goodbye. But boy, what a great gift and fulfillment for them, and us, to share loving lives together. You will always love them, and more and more you will find smiles before tears. I want you to know how much we appreciate your sharing with us. We’re all animal lovers, have suffered partings, and are totally thrilled when we see good, fun stories, too. Woof, and {HUGS}. Toni -

He sure is handsome, and you are coming along well with your training :-). The photo of him looking up the tree (squirrel duty) is beautiful. It looks a little misty and magical. Is he eating an ear of corn, or playing with it? Thank you for sharing him with us, Randy. -

@grandma2011 Hi Dianne. I think about you a lot because my darling old girl who will be 18 in March is doing okay but I can tell she is failing and I know how you and I share the terrible anticipation of their (George – Baby Mama) passing. It’s tough, to say the least. Any way, I do think of you and hope you will let us know how you are doing. Toni

ooohhh… that is something… I wonder if someone had her, or if she was hiding somewhere. We’ll probably never know. But that was then, that happened, and now you are reunited! What a great end to a harrowing event. We are all so happy and grateful, Hilary. Thank you for letting us know, and sharing these photos. Please send more of them so we can see how she and her sister (name?) are doing. Another {HUG} for you all ๐ -

What lovely stories, Geri. While they are only “on loan” to us, our pets weave deep and meaningful fibers into our beings, and we never forget them. But, with time, we do find smiles before tears with our memories. I am absolutely convinced that non-human animals are very gracious and generous and want us to love and bring comfort and joy to as many pets as we can. And we ARE capable of loving over and over again, without diminishing any of the loves we’ve had before. In fact, losing our beloveds teaches us to treasure every pet even more. You are very kind to open your home and heart to others, and to share with us here. Your kind words of support, care and understanding to others in our community really mean a lot, Geri. Thank you for sharing your stories with us. Keep us posted about your new darlings, with photos if you like. Toni -

Did you know tears have different chemical compositions if they are from joy vs. grief? It’s true. We literally “cry out” our feelings. So, while you are still feeling grief and the tears just come rolling, it’s a cleansing thing. There is no time frame for healing, but there are ways to help move ourselves along through it (and we must go through it, not ‘around’ it). You may find journaling helpful (https://www.faithfulfriends.com/shop/griffins-heart-pet-loss-book/), or want to speak with a grief counselor (https://heartfeltfarewells.com/). Also, would you like to tell us more about Meesha and your lives together? It’s helpful to share the fun and funny stories, as well as the challenging and sad parts with us. We understand, relate, and are here for you. For as long as you want and need us. And don’t feel guilty if you find yourself smiling and laughing with memories – those are the memories Meesha would want for you. {{HUGS}} -

That’s right. In fact, the older, the better. My girl will be 18 in March and every day I love her more. -

Hilary, any good news about Scarlet yet? Do you think she was ‘catnapped’ or is hanging out with someone? -

@sandysings Hello Sondra, and welcome to our caring community. I am sorry for your loss of Pearl. Are you doing okay? I hope so, and know it’s just heartbreaking. What kind of pet was Pearl? May we hear about your lives together, and see some photos?

Oh Darlene, I am so sorry for you all. It’s so hard to lose a beloved family member like Leo. Is he wearing a bowtie? What a cutie. There is such a conflict of intellectually knowing he is not suffering, and the absolute heartbreak of saying goodbye. It’s good you and Trixi are there to support each other. I hope you will find comfort. May we see more photos of Leo and Trixi? Keep us updated, please. {{HUGS}} -

Oh, this picture brought tears – her sweet little face. Compere, thank you for sharing with us. I know you are relieved for the end of Kee’s suffering, but are just torn apart inside. I hope you are doing things to bring good memories that bring you some comfort. Keep sending your images and feelings. Here is a big {{HUG}} for you. -
