I am so sorry, Vicki. Last night, in our group meeting, we talked about the final act of kindness – granting our beloved pets a comfortable, peaceful passing. It is the most loving, selfless gift we can give them – relief and release from current and future suffering. Now, the painful process of moving forward without Peanuts. There is no getting around the pain and the tears, just let them flow. Little by little, think of happy memories. You can even write notes to Peanut recalling your happy times, and write FROM Peanut to you. Her sister is mourning alongside you, Vicki, and I hope you find comfort in each other. Let us know how you are both coming along. {{HUGS}} Toni

Kim, I am so sorry. It hasn’t been very long since you said goodbye to Bubbies and it is certainly undertsandable that you are still deeply grieving. I was relieved when I said goodbye to my darling, knowing it was best for her to have a peaceful passing, but the emptiness of my home and bed and everything was very hard for me, too. I made a mistake giving away her things too quickly, and found sleeping with a stuffed animal helped me a lot. (Others have found even holding a pillow helps). Brony is right – opening your home and heart to another does heal – it reminds us that while one life and love has departed, another is around for us to care for and about. But, YOU have to be ready for that and there is no set limit on when. For me, a friend’s mother had to go into a facility for awhile and I brought in her young kitty, Boots. He was full of life and energy (my goodness, the energy!) and truly healed my broken heart. I’ve since had to return Boots but will always be grateful for having him enter my sad world just ten days after I said goodbye to my Beauty Girl (You can read her memorial on our Memorials tab). So Kim, remember the many fun, funny, loving years you and Bubbies shared, and know Bubbies would want you to be happy for them. We’re here for you, and want to hear from you. {{HUGS}} Toni

Maureen, our group meets tonight at 7 Eastern if you can join us. I was thinking that you could wear a mask to visit your shelter and that might help with your allergies. What do you think? Toni
        • @kitrin22 Cathy, I am so sorry for your loss of Snoopy. Will you tell us about Snoopy and your lives together? May we see some pictures? Our group meeting is tonight at 7 Eastern if you would like to join us. We’re here for you.Toni

        • @spitter80 Hi Kim, welcome to our caring community. Please tell us about Bubbies (is that correct?), and let us know how you are doing. Toni

          • Bubbies was an amazing cat. He was 18 when we had to send him to the rainbow bridge. To be honest I’m not handling his death all too well. It’s been 3 1/2 weeks and my heart aches for him. I can’t stop crying. There’s a big hole that only he could fill. My house feels empty.
            • When I lost my Lulu I was a crying mess for months. I adopted Lucy cause I was so lonely. She helped to mend my heart. Take your time. Something shall come along to help heal your heart.

Linda, How hard it must be for you, and them, to not live together. Are they safe in thw woods? Do you know anyone who can take them in and you can still visit with them?

Denise, how lucky were you and Frisco to share so many loving and fun years together! I agree – saying goodbye, while hard, is actually a loving and kind thing to “feel good” about – but coming home to a quiet, empty house is brutal. And yes, indeed, writing to and about our beloved is a wonderful way to express your feelings and thoughts, to send them a little message of love❤️You might also find comfort writing what you think Frisco would send to you in a note. You are welcome to share any of your writings with us. We understand and care. OH! Please join us this Thursday at our group meeting to share more about Frisco and your lives together🤗Toni

Brony, cats find the darndest places to sleep. We found one of ours in the engine of the car because it was warm! It would be fun to have everyone share pictures of “strange cat sleeping spots”!! Thanks for sharing darling little Crazy Lucy. We like to participate in adventures😻😻

How nice of you to give Kwestoun a loving and happy home, Cathe. Clever name – it fit the situation! I am torn about not letting cats go outside. I undertsand the risks of plants or other animals (and vehicles) but some cats just want to wander and explore. It’s a toughie to balance their safety and their preferred lifestyle. I am so happy to meet you and have you share your story about Kwetoun with us. I hope you continue to do so, and that you share more adventures with us. 💔Toni

Tami, what a lovely thing to do – see our friends in the clouds💕
I wrote a poem about this: (My ‘A Touch from Beyond’ line of cards): https://www.atouchfrombeyond.com/

We are all angels, but now I have wings
We dance in the clouds, and everyone sings
So don’t be unhappy – I’m always above
To shelter and guide you, and give you my love ❤️

Twenty years … it’s never enough for us, but how fabulous for you and Kwestoun to share so many years of love and fun together. Please tell us about the name Kwestoun – I’ve never heard that. And please do share more about your lives together for all those years. My Squirt was with me 19 years, BG was only with me 5 years but was 18 when she passed… gosh it doesn’t matter how old they were, nor how long we were together, it’s the depth of love and life we enjoyed that matters, do you think? How are you doing, Cathe? It hurts at a very deep level and I hope you are surrounded by understanding, caring people. We are here for you, and I hope we get to meet you at this Thursday’s group meeting. I am thinking of you. Toni
