@spitter80 Hi Kim, welcome to our caring community. Please tell us about Bubbies (is that correct?), and let us know how you are doing. Toni

    • Bubbies was an amazing cat. He was 18 when we had to send him to the rainbow bridge. To be honest I’m not handling his death all too well. It’s been 3 1/2 weeks and my heart aches for him. I can’t stop crying. There’s a big hole that only he could fill. My house feels empty.
      • When I lost my Lulu I was a crying mess for months. I adopted Lucy cause I was so lonely. She helped to mend my heart. Take your time. Something shall come along to help heal your heart.
        • Kim, I am so sorry. It hasn’t been very long since you said goodbye to Bubbies and it is certainly undertsandable that you are still deeply grieving. I was relieved when I said goodbye to my darling, knowing it was best for her to have a peaceful passing, but the emptiness of my home and bed and everything was very hard for me, too. I made a mistake giving away her things too quickly, and found sleeping with a stuffed animal helped me a lot. (Others have found even holding a pillow helps). Brony is right – opening your home and heart to another does heal – it reminds us that while one life and love has departed, another is around for us to care for and about. But, YOU have to be ready for that and there is no set limit on when. For me, a friend’s mother had to go into a facility for awhile and I brought in her young kitty, Boots. He was full of life and energy (my goodness, the energy!) and truly healed my broken heart. I’ve since had to return Boots but will always be grateful for having him enter my sad world just ten days after I said goodbye to my Beauty Girl (You can read her memorial on our Memorials tab). So Kim, remember the many fun, funny, loving years you and Bubbies shared, and know Bubbies would want you to be happy for them. We’re here for you, and want to hear from you. {{HUGS}} Toni
