I know, Dianne. My cats’ progressive internal disease may have become cancer and I can have her biopsied under anesthesia, and if it’s cancer, start chemo pills, but with her failing kidneys, which chemo can worsen, and other health challenges (slight anemia (which chemo can also worsen), high blood pressure and thyroid, I won’t put her through either the procedure nor the chemo. She’s in good spirits and seemingly no pain, so we’ll go for as long as she’s “feline fine”, then it will be time to say goodbye. If she was younger, not almost 18, of course it would be different. George is 14 and, sorry to say, is also considered “senior” in the cat world. I know everyone in our community is with you and here for you. Maybe George will start to feel better soon. I hope so 🙂 -

Oh Carol, how hard this is for you – not being able to say goodbye. It’s never easy, even when we can. You say Chester is not in pain now – was he ill or ailing? We wish pain free peace for our loved ones, and I am glad with you that Chester is relieved and released. But darn it, the pain is deep within because the love is too, and Carol, it takes as much time as it takes to move through it. Little things trigger big emotions, like seeing a favorite toy, or passing where they liked to sleep…. One day you will smile before the tears with a memory of Chester. You may find “Griffin’s Heart” helpful – it’s part book, part journal and some of our community members have found it very helpful. (It’s in our shop). It hasn’t been very long since you parted and I hope you will share more about Chester, and keep us posted about how you are doing. Here is a {HUG}. Toni -

Kody was SO darling, Stephen, and it has not been very long since you said goodbye. I am so sorry, and know you are in pain. Hopefully you will allow yourself the time to grieve, and be kind to yourself. When you are up to telling us more about Kody and your lives together, please do. Was Kody a Beagle? The coloring is carmel-like, so maybe a Cocker Spaniel? Stephen, let us know how you are doing. Toni -

I am so sorry for your own challenges, Aileen, and understand how much Maggie meant to you as a friend, and a significant companion. I bet we all have 1,000’s of photos, and I really hope you will share some more with us. There is a story, and a lot of personality we get to know, from pictures, and if you would add context to them, we’d love to follow along. And I hope you will become an active and ardent participant in our community – I’m pleased to meet you, and to get to know Maggie a bit. 🙂 -

Oh my gosh, Aileen – Maggie was stunning. I’ve never seen a white sable German Shepherd, and now that you have shared this photo, I see how special she was. Her sweet eyes and face make me sad, too, but how wonderful for you both to be together for so long. Darn it – they are only ‘on loan’ to us, and that’s the hardest part of loving. But oh what great fun and joy you two shared! We’re here for you to share more photos, your stories, and of course, your feelings. Please accept this virtual {HUG}.-
yeah thank you soo much Toni I had several GSs in my life but I knew she would be my last one . I have MS so she was kind of like my therapy dog too. Im soo thankful for the time we had together and I have LOTS of pictures and videos 🙂

Pamela, I am so sorry. Was Mason a Russian Blue? He’s gorgeous. How wonderful that you both enjoyed a long, loving life together.
