yeah thank you soo much Toni I had several GSs in my life but I knew she would be my last one . I have MS so she was kind of like my therapy dog too. Im soo thankful for the time we had together and I have LOTS of pictures and videos ๐-
I am so sorry for your own challenges, Aileen, and understand how much Maggie meant to you as a friend, and a significant companion. I bet we all have 1,000’s of photos, and I really hope you will share some more with us. There is a story, and a lot of personality we get to know, from pictures, and if you would add context to them, we’d love to follow along. And I hope you will become an active and ardent participant in our community – I’m pleased to meet you, and to get to know Maggie a bit. ๐

This is my beautiful girl Maggie-she was the BEST I miss her every day ๐-
Oh my gosh, Aileen – Maggie was stunning. I’ve never seen a white sable German Shepherd, and now that you have shared this photo, I see how special she was. Her sweet eyes and face make me sad, too, but how wonderful for you both to be together for so long. Darn it – they are only ‘on loan’ to us, and that’s the hardest part of loving. But oh what great fun and joy you two shared! We’re here for you to share more photos, your stories, and of course, your feelings. Please accept this virtual {HUG}.

thank you for welcoming me I lost my girl Maggie 1 year ago Sept 11, 2020. She was 10 1/2 yrs old I got her when she was 5 weeks old. I knew she was special because she was born on Christmas and was a true angel and boy was she!! She was a beautiful white sable German Shepherd and we were together every day 24/7 for 10 1/2 years. She was everything I needed her to be just like she knew what she was supposed to do. She was loving but also very protective and so intuitive. In February 2020 she was diagnosed with kidney disease and I Knew it was just a matter of time. I was kind of thankful for the pandemic because I got to spend every day of those precious last months with her. In the first part of September he stopped eating and got soo sick I knew it was the end, we took her to the emergency clinic and their advice was to put her to sleep. SO I made that hard decision because I promised her I would never let her suffer and I would be with her at the end. I kept those promises and she died peacefully in my arms. This last year has been hard without her but its getting better slowly. I will never ever forget my wonderful girl and what she brought to my life! Thank you for listening <3-
Aileen, Thank You for sharing with us – we understand the heartbreaking part of fulfilling our promises back to our beloved friends to whom we committed, that we won’t let them suffer, and what you did was only in Maggie’s best interest, not your own. You are Maggie’s angel, too :-). I don’t know what a white sable German Shepherd looks like. Do you have pictures you can share with us? We do welcome you to our caring community, and if you scroll through some of the posts here, and read some that touch you, I know your words of sympathy and understanding will be welcome and meaningful. I hope each day you find smiles before tears. I know Maggie’s birthday may be tough for you, so please….know we are here for you, and are thinking of you.
