    As soon as I love something it’s taken away. The lady that had Lucy lied constantly to me. She fed her chicken thighs and noodles,her breath was terrible. . She didn’t have her shots or was spayed . In February she started to change, pee and poop on my bed, hide under the toilet. Never come when I called. Quit playing with her toys. And got fleas lived in the garage. She didn’t enjoy life. Got warmer and she hides under the bed. She would drink water like crazy and use the cat box. I think her kidneys were failing. I tried and tried to get her to eat but within days she cried and her head was in the water bowl. I moved her to a chair and petted her while she purred. She yawed her tongue was purple.she took two breaths and was gone. I rocked her and told her I loved her not believing she was gone. She is buried next to Lulu.

                Two years ago today, I said goodbye to my beloved Beauty Girl. She was 13 when we met, had had most of her teeth extracted, and needed medical fostering, which was my intention. But, we fell in love, adopted each other, and shared five wonderful years together. I celebrate her every day ❤️

                  this is my Cocoa who I had to help cross the Rainbow bridge on 1/24/24 he was 19. He started not feeling well and went down hill quick. As much as it tore my heart in two I owed it to him to make his leaving us as peaceful as possible. The grief and heart ache are unbearable. But I wouldn’t change a thing you little man were my world!

                    In reply to - Maureen posted an update Hi, Saturday (1/6) was exactly one year ago that I lost my Romeo. I can\'t begin to tell you how hard that day was for me. I knew that day was coming and I thought I would be okay. I was not. It has been a very difficult year for me and the memory of Romeo\'s last moments play over and over in my head, and I just can\'t seem to shake that vision. I am stuck. My heart is still shattered, and losing him has changed me forever. I will never be the same and life for me will never be the same again. He was the best thing to have happen to me. He came to me when I was at such a low point in my life, and he saved me from despair and brought happiness back to me. Now, that happiness is gone. Although, I am better than I was at this time last year, there are still those very bad days that rear their ugly heads and I am right back to that awful morning when my boy left this world forever 💔 I want to say how grateful I am to be part of this group and I appreciate all the support and compassion I\'ve received. I am sorry for all your losses and send warm thoughts and hugs to you.                                                 Mac (the foster kitten) update: Today is day 14 of our two week quarantine due to the deadly virus Panleukopenia. It only affects cats and is very virulent and fatal. His two siblings succumbed two weeks ago and so far, Mac is doing great! Whew. It\'s been a long saga of sterilizing and medications and hoping the little darling makes it through. And it seems that Mac has made it🎉The next week will be critical and we go for vaccination next Sunday. I think I will adopt him - we\'ve become so close and know each other so well now. Here is a picture of Mac on the new cat tree I got him (I went for a litter box and came home with a tree!). Thank you all for your concern and caring following Mac\'s progress🤗Toni

                                                  Mac. I\'ve decided to call the little darling Mac after Connor MacCleod from the clan MacCleod - the immortal in The Highlander. If you don\'t know the movie, it\'s filmed in Scotland and is one of my favs. I told the kitten he is immortal to encourage him to not succumb to the panleukopenia that took his siblings. He tested negative yesterday and we have one more week to get through before he is in the clear. Thank you to everyone who is taking this journey with us.🤗 So far, so good.🙌{{HUGS}}Toni

                                                        Oh what a thing to wait for. Positive thoughts. You are stronger than anyone I know. Everything on me is crossed..I hope it’s because of the medicine, he’s so little, I want to see him grow up and love you to pieces. I’ll be strong too. (I will try) waiting to hear positive…..I once tried to save a bird, he died, I cried and sobbed over the poor bird. Mom said throw him in the garbage can. Ewww!                                                             Half a teaspoon of pumpkin or baby food chicken or turkey. That’s how I got rid of Lucy’s diarrhea. In about a week and she has been normal eversince. Also kitten chow wet it. It helps fill the tummy. Just my 2 cents worth.

                                                                  In reply to - Toni Noel posted an update Hi Brony and everyone :-) I am so sorry I haven\'t updated you about the remaining foster kitten who is DOING WELL so far!! As you may recall, I brought home three 5 - 6 week old siblings (two boys and a girl) to foster. One of the boys and the girl had the deadly virus Panleukopenia and were euthanized Sunday. My heart is broken, but the boy still with is us doing great for now. The shelter doctor said that if he is still doing well after two weeks from Sunday, October 22nd, he should be okay but one of the vet techs said three weeks. So, if he is still okay the 29th, it seems he will have escaped the virus. I slept on the floor of my powder room with him Sunday through Wednesday, and last night, Thursday, we slept in the den. We were up all night Wednesday with diarrhea and Thursday he had two tests for the virus which were both \"inconclusive\" so they let me bring him home. He\'s on five medications I am administering to address the diarrhea, (which is much better) (I\'m exhausted). I couldn\'t let him into the den until I could sterilize every single surface three times with the sterilizing solution the shelter provided. I worry I missed a microbe of the virus, but yesterday I finally let the baby out into the den and we slept together on the couch. He was used to playing with his siblings so I am filling in for them in the best ways I can which means hours of playing with many different types of toys. All the toys are new because I had to throw away all of the trees, balls, EVERY toy or thing they touched. I\'ll try to snap a few new pictures to share with you, and will give more updates and photos of the little darling. I really can\'t express how much it means to have the support of our community at this time. It helps so much to have your concern and care.                                                                           Oh Michele I’m so sorry for your loss of Mittens. I know how you are feeling. I lost Lulu in June she also was 13 years old. It broke me. I adopted Lucy to help heal my heart. My heart still misses Lulu, but it’s doing better. Understand that you are a part of special individuals. Keep you chin up. Come back anytime .We are here for you.
