Kyle, it’s only been two months and it is understandable that you still miss her. She was with you a long time and filled your home and heart. Are you able to find smiles when you think of Presley and the wonderful life you shared? Please come to our group meeting June 15th. Rebecca, you are an absolute angel, caring for so many over he years, knowing that saying goodbye takes a piece of you with each one. How kind and loving of you. It’s very hard but very rewarding, isn’t it? Pancreatic is one of the most dreaded cancers and I am so very soory for Toby Ryan, and for you. How long were you together? How did you meet? How many kitties do you have now? Are they missing Toby Ryan, too? As you read through the posts here, you’ll see that other pets in the household do indeed mourn the passing of a friend, too, and need extra loving, as do you, Rebecca. I am sending you a {{HUG}} and my sympathy. And gratitude for all you do for others. Toni -

The other pets in a household were friends, too, and mourn. She needs your love and kindness now, just as you need hers. You’ll help each other get through this time and the changes to daily routines. Please tell us about her, Cindy. Were they blood relatives? About the same age? Were they close (it sounds like it). What a fun and full life you shared with Anjewel, Jen. Gosh, what a charmer. That face, those eyes… It is the hard, sad part of pet parenting – knowing one day we will say goodbye. But boy, what a great life you gave her, and she to you. We’d love more time, but are grateful for the love we will always treasure. One month isn’t long and I hope with time you find more smiles before tears with her memories. You are welcome to create a lasting memorial to Anjewel in our Memorial area (at the top of this page). And please join our June 15th group meeting to share more about Anjewel and her life of adventure. We’d really love to hear about her. With my sympathy, Toni -

Chris, when I said goodbye to my girl, I felt good knowing she was at peace. She was old and had become quite unwell. But, when I walked in the house the emptiness and reality hit me hard. It does take time and the pain lessens. Do you think it was best for him that he was not sick for long? Better than a drawn out illness? Ten years, a hundred…it’s never long enough. We never will forget them, and I am grateful for the time we shared, as I suspect you are. It’s good to hear your update and I hope you continue to let us know how you are doing. And thank you for so kindly sharing your own support with others. It’s why we are here. Please come to our next group meeting June 15th. It’s good to talk among understanding people. Ashley, I am so sorry. Mason was your dear, beloved best friend and your generosity and love in letting him find peace and comfort is a testament to your love and selflessness. And strength. It takes strength to love so deeply and let go, thinking only of what was best for Mason. But it hurts and I hope you can find some comfort knowing Mason had a wonderful life with you. Our pets are only on loan to us, never for long enough. If you can, please think of the many fun and loving times you were lucky to share – I hope you find joy with those memories. Lori, I am sorry. My darling slept with me, too, and I found a stuffed toy helped me when she passed. I kissed and cried into it. Maybe that can bring you a little relief. How long were you and Luckyduck together? How did you met? What kind of pet was he? May we see some pictures? {HUGS} Toni -

Cookie was a small girl who was a huge part of your family for a long time, Carla, and it’s understandable that your world feels broken, because a part of it broke away. I am so very sorry. Our pets are only on loan to us, never for long enough – forever iwouldn’t be enough time together. I hope you can weigh the seventeen wonderful years of joy against this painful period and find joy knowing Cookie shared her best life with you. If she sent you a Thank You note, what would she say? Perhaps you can write a note to Cookie, telling her how grateful you are for having her in your life and heart. Please let us know how you and your family are doing, Carla. {{HUGS}} Toni -

Oh Leslie, what fun you and Keshia had! Walks in all kinds of weather, graduation, birthdays…. How lucky for you both to share such good times. I am so sorry for your parting and agree with you – it’s better for Keshia to be free from pain and sickness. That’s the biggest gift of all – thinking of her best inetrest. Of course it comes at the expense of heartbreak, but finding joy in the time we are granted can bring some comfort. I hope you find smiles before tears with her memories. Mason was a 10 year old American Bulldog who was sheer perfection, never gave a single problem except the occasional eye roll. He was perfectly healthy until the end of March where he started slowing down and not eating as much, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer that had spread to his pancreas the end of April and he let me know on mother’s day he was ready. Monday May 15th Madon was set free of cancer and took a huge piece if my heart over that rainbow bridge. By far one of the hardest weeks of my life without my perfect boy by my side. We were inseparable and I am lost without him. -
