Hi Christina. I am glad to hear from you and am sorry you have been going through whatever it has been. Does that add to your migraines? Stress and grief do that. It’s understandable that you are missing June – it hasn’t been very long since you said goodbye, especially after twenty years of love together. Heck, I still think of my Squirt who died in the ’90’s and get choked up. Our love never goes away. What we CAN do to help heal is let our minds take charge rather than our hearts, to remind us that our pets are only ‘on loan’ to us, and that while we are graced with their company we have shared the gift of lives well lived in love. Cindy, I am sorry. Picking up what was your most beloved friend is a terribly difficult thing to do. It is another harsh and hard reminder that JJ is really gone and is one of the most difficult and heartbreaking moments in your life. I am crying writing this, thinking of your pain. So let’s do it, and go through this together. Please cry and rant or whatever you need to do, then please take some deep breaths and think of a moment with JJ in which you were both so happy, content and loving. Whew – doesn’t that feel better? Try to stay in your head for a bit, remembering that everyone, everything, will pass one day, and that you gave JJ the best life for JJ’s allotted time here. It’s an exercise you can practice each day, as many times a day as you need. I hope that helps as you navigate through the grief of loss towards the profound joy of treasured memories. Yes, Shirley, this is what we get when we open our hearts and homes to a beloved baby. We know going in that one day we will have to say goodbye, but we expose our underbelly, and love without restraint. Is that about right? We want our faithful friends to be with us forever, but they are only “on loan” to us – never for long enough. Mya was, and will always be, a part of you, your thoughts and your being. Isn’t that lovely when you think of it? To have shared a loving life together. Now is the truly devastating, painful part of parting. I have to believe Mya would want you to be happy for your life together, that Mya is grateful for your care and love, and wishes you only more love in your life. What do you think, Shirley? Wow, this is so hard, Marilyn, losing such a dear, close and important friend after so many years together. I am so terribly sorry and saddened for you. 25 years! My goodness, how grand for Bandit, and for you. We want to have our beloved pets forever but they are ony on loan to us. You got to share 14 wonderful years and now it’s time to wander through the difficult and painful process of grieving, eventually healing. We atr jere for you with sympathy and understanding. Melinda, how nice of you to take the time to share your beautiful family with us. Thank you.🤗. It is so very hard, sad and heartbreaking to love so much and so deeply, then have to say goodbye. But as we know in our heads, every leaf falls from the tree – we all pass one day and make way for new life – but in our hearts, we are broken. 💔. Thank you. I’m doing OK.
I adopted Woogie from a shelterin MN. He was just a kitten when I went to check out the kitties. I remember he decided to climb up on my shoulders and I just knew he was the one. I ended up adopting him along with another kitty. They got along great. Woogie was the quiet type, hiding when people came etc. He also was go with the flow cat. Never bothered him when I got a dog, rats or a rabbit. He came with each time I had to move and never phased him.
He was my cuddler, comforter. We were together 17 of his 18 1/2 yrs here on earth. -
Stacey, I am so sorry for your loss of Woogie 💔 He sounded like a wonderful boy and I know your heart is broken. I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain. Sending you hugs 💔
