Good morning- So, January was a year without my Lil D, and in the next few months it will be a year without my Piglet and WhiteBoy. Honestly, it doesn’t get easier. I see little reminders around the house of them and the hurt surfaces. I cry and talk to them telling them how much I miss them, until finally the tears stop. My heart hurts always, I think I just figured out how to cope, survive but not get over them being gone.
    Hope everyone is doing well.

    • Oh Amanda, I am sorry. One thing we encourage is to celebrate birth and adoption dates, not only remembering the date we said goodbye. Perhaps you can try that. An exercise we use is to recall at least one fun or funny thing from our times rogether when the tears take over. Talk with us about your babies with our kind, understanding group meeting on April 20th. And keep sharing with us here. Sending you {HUGS} Toni

I lost 3 of my fur babies this horrible year. This will be my first Holiday season without all my fur kids. I miss them everyday.
WhiteBoy was my male, black pit he passed August 2022. Dixie was my female blue heeler/Chihuahua mix (black and white) she passed January 2022. And Piglet, my cat he passed in May 2022.
Needless to say it\’s been a heartbreaking year.
      • Amanda, this has been a tough year and I am so sad for you and your losses. It seems as if there has been a dark cloud this year and I hope it clears for 2023. What do you think – will you be able or ready to open yourself to more new loves, or will you take some time? It’s different for each of us and there is no right answer. I’m taking a “paws” for awhile after saying goodbye this year, and know many others are, too. Some are welcoming new faithful friends, some of us are waiting a bit. Please let us know how you are doing through this holiday season, and after. We’re thinking of you and I am sending you {{HUGS}}. Toni
