Oh sweetie I hate you went through this!! My twosocks had this happened! Because it was memorial day when he got sick and I couldn’t get my money from the bank the vet wouldn’t help me do anything except euthanasia!! I had $5,000.00 in the bank and I showed them and still they refused to help my 8 yr old main coon. This vet office is closed now but I got no justice or reimbursement for the 490 they charged me to send him to the rainbow bridge. I am still mad as hell too sweetie. Sending hugs love and prayers to you 💜💚-
I know that vets are all about the money. Know that they have expenses but when a person can prove they can pay the bill then they should treat the animal. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I am trying to stoo the anger and concentrate on the good life and love Sheba had. I love her so much and she loved me. I know I will see her again oneday.

These are my 3 fur children who passed away at separate times but we all lived together and had tons of love. The calico in the middle was my first fur baby I bottle fed and did everything for her. I am still lost 7 yrs later. I have more fur children but I never forget the ones that came first. And I still shed tears and have my moments. I know they are all watching over me and if I need it they come and visit. I can sense there spirits. I also mis my rats I lost too. ANY fur child big or small will always be loved and remember. Ugh super sad today. My Rainy Grace is doing her thing by trying to make me feel better. I love cats!! Grew up dog but bed ridden with my pregnancy switched to cats and wow what I have been missing!! Love ALL animals and miss all who have passed. Even my hamsters💜💚 -

Elaina, we welcome you to our caring community of pets lovers, most of whom have experienced the deep pain of parting from our beloved pet. It is so kind of our members to extend their own sympathy and understanding – it helps us to know we’re not alone, someone really understands, and cares. Thank you Shannon, for reaching out. Elaina, was Holly a cat by any chance? My 17 year old has compromised kidneys (among other problems) and I think it is a common ailment in cats. Perhaps dogs too? Would you like to share some of your photographic memories with us? Mourning takes as much time as it takes- there is no time frame, but hopefully your smiles will come before tears and your sweet, fun memories will bring you comfort, and much joy for the life you shared. Stay with us, Elaina, and let us know how your are dong.

Yep. Holly was a cat. She had the most beautiful eyes. I remember the day after I put her down, it was such a painful day for me. I couldn’t believe she was just gone, just like that. I couldn’t walk around my apartment. I just couldn’t. I just laid in bed all day crying for her. Weeks to follow. It was such an emptiness, a silence. The silence was venue loud because it was a reminder she was no longer here with me. I have tons of pics of her. She was my heart.

How are you coming along, Elaina? Are you feeling any better? Are Sassy and Shyla helping cheer you?

Thank you Shannon. Yeah this was a tough one for me. It’s always so tough no matter what. I ‘inherited’ her 13 years ago from my cousin. She was such a cuddle bug. For 13 years she slept on my pillow at night. She was a sweetheart. Prior to her, I had Cutie. She was with me for 16 years. She passed on the way to putting her down. Then I had my Holly. These are all cats. I miss Holly very much. I have her ashes on my mantle. But now I have two sisters. Over a year old. I got them from a hoarding situation. Sassy and Shyla are their names.

Elaina, Ouch. I hurt with you. Mine sleeps with her backside under my chin (not great for breathing – she’s trying to ‘snufficat’ me) and is 17 and not in peak health. You are touching me because I know one night she won’t be tucked under my chin…. Thinking about it hurts terribly, and when it happens you all can help lift me out of my puddle on the floor. So I am sad and a bit teary when one of our fellow community is hurting, too. But boy, the great joy and fun and love we got to share is precious. It wouldn’t hurt so much if we didn’t love so much. You wrote a lovely phrase – “the silence was venue loud” – that is so descriptive and conveys such a message. Thank you for that. Sassy and Shyla are lucky to be with you and I know they will bring you love, too. I’m thinking of you, Elaina. Oh, when you are up to it, may we see photos, please?

This picture is all three of my babies miss. These guys were my first cats. The calico Jazmine Lee was my very second kitty and the boys followed 3 yrs later. I just lost my last baby Buster June2020. I still miss and love them and it still hurts pretty bad. But I have a new service baby. Obviously will never take the place of Jazmine or Twosocks or Buster but she is a really really good girl and helps me a lot. From left to right is Twosocks Jazmine in the middle and Buster on the right. 💜💚 Bless you all and hugs love and prayers to you all.
