We were on our evening walk with our boys May 3. Another dog broke off it\’s \”restraint\” and attacked my Boomer. He was only 12 and had just been given an easy 3 to 5 years of healthy life. His injuries were too much to ivercome and we had to say goodbye. In 4 hours ti e he went from healthy and happy to gone and my heart will never heal from the final images I am left with. He was my registered ESA and I am utterly lost without him. He taught me how to live but did not teach me how to live without him.-
Colleen, no one should experience this and I am devasted you and Boomer did. You have suffered a tremendous loss and shock. It sounds as if you have someone with you to support you. That’s good, but you might find it helpful to speak with a trauma specialist. Should you choose to do that, please let me know if I can assist you. This is such a sad thing to read and I can’t imagine the pain you are experiencing. Please come to our online group meeting June 15th. You don’t have to speak, but if you want to share with us, we are here for you, as we are here for you in our caring community. You will be in my thoughts with deep sympathy, and best wishes for healing. 💔Very sincerely, Toni -
You are among caring friends who understand the depth of your loss. We are here for you during this difficult time. With heartfelt support, Tay -
Colleen, I am so sad to read this! Boomer looks like a gentle soul. That is just the worst way to have to say goodbye. I agree with Toni: if it is at all possible for you to see a trauma person please do so. You have seen images that can’t be just forgotten, you need competent help to be able to go on. Boomer was there for your emotional support, and in a way he still is and will always be. Imagine what he would tell you. Yes, he would want you to grieve – and eventually be well again. That was his job. He still watches out for you. Please get help and stay connected to people who understand, like the beautiful people in this community. I am sending many good wishes!
