Carla, Wow – what a story! Thank you for sharing this with us. May I ask what happened that Slingo died so suddenly? It may help others to hear about that, too. I love the way you named Slingo🙌I once named a cat “Chivo” after a sour cream-chive spread. We had baked potatoes the night before she literally walked into my house and adopted me, so of course I had to name her Chivo! I am truly sorry for your loss, and delighted for the ten years of love and joy you shared. I hope you celelbrate those special times, and am glad to hear from you. Please, stay in touch {HUGS} Toni

Denesha, the first ANYTHING is very hard – holiday, birthday, any of the milestones that mark our times together. If you can, when you think of Ellie, think also of a lovely, loving time with her. It can help to recall the many reasons you opened your home and heart to her. How is Archie doing? Better, I hope. I hope you’ll join our group meeting this month, to talk about Ellie, and Archie, with our kind, caring group. We’re here for you, Denesha ❤️Toni

Elizabeth, on the 15th, we will be thinking of you and Angel.💔 And you could give Evangelina an extra vanilla wafer from Angel, do you think? And Gabriel, too. By the way, has Evangelina learned some services to help you? I am delighted to hear from you, although not for this reason, but it is good to have your update, and we hope to hear more. Join our group meeting Dec. 21st at 7PM Eastern if you like – we would love to meet you and hear more. {HUGS} Toni

In 2004 I won $10,000 on a “Slingo” slot machine. What made this really special is I won $2500 on the exact same combination at 4 different casinos during a summer RV trip. I told my husband if we got a puppy we had to name her Slingo. We got Slingo the golden retriever in 2005. She died suddenly in 2015. Slingo was my “lucky dog” in every way. I miss her and think of her everyday. But truly we were the lucky ones to share almost 10 years with our sweet Slingo. Love you forever, mama

              • Sorry I did not see this till tonight. Slingo died of a stroke while we were at Disney. Slingo was staying at Best Friends kennel on Disney property. When the kennel staff realized something was wrong they drove Slingo to the emergency vet in their own car. They stayed until we arrived at the vet-and even stayed with us for awhile. Slingo was alive it this point. She was on “stroke protocol,” and we had to leave but intended to pick her up in the morning to take her to our vet at home. Unfortunately during the night Slingo had another stroke & died. I am glad it was fast & she did not suffer. Disney was amazing-they refunded the kennel, hotel & park tickets. I will never forget their kindness
                • Carla, I am so sorry for your loss of Slingo 💔 What a sad story about what happened while he was being kennelled at Disney. The staff did everything possible to help Slingo and I am glad that you were able to be with him before his passing. Such a sad, sad thing to happen while you were vacationing and my heart hurts for you all. May Slingo rest in peace.
Sending you comforting hugs at this very sad time 💔
                  • Carla, This is a sad, and a good, story. I agree it was good for Slingo that she passed quickly, but what a shock for you💔I am so very sorry for your loss and grateful for the care Slingo received, and the kindness that was extended to you. I hope you will join our group this month to tell us more about your life with Slingo and about what happened. One of our members worked with Disney and I am sure she would like to hear from you, too. The link to join is under “Events” on the right side of this page, and starts at 7PM EST. You are welcome to join when you can, and leave when you like. We’re here for you, Carla. Toni

This will be my first Christmas without Ellie. I am still very sad I had to say goodbye to my sweet girl. I gave her the name Ellie because the way she looked. I still wanna buy her a Christmas present not sure if that is silly but she deserves it even if she is gone. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and I have her little memorial set up in the bedroom so I talk to her and cry sometimes. It’s only been 10 months and I still can’t believe she is gone. I’m also sad we didn’t get to celebrate her birthday since that’s the day she crossed the rainbow bridge

All my kitties have human names, & middle names too. It started in 2002, with the last cat that my late hubby & I adopted together.

                                      • ON the 15th of this month it will be three years since you came and helped my Angel cross over. She is always in my thoughts and my heart. My soul girl.

Oh Linda, how sad. I am so sorry. I brought 3 five week old kittens home to foster and two of them were euthanized due to Panleukopenia. It is heartbreaking💔at any age, but especially when they are so very little. How old was your baby? Will you share her story with us? It might help others. We’re thinking of you with sympathy. Toni
