Oh Patty, what happened? My friend Tom was sitting with his Rigby in his lap, got up to get an iced tea, came back and Rigby was dead. Literally, within a minute, and no signs of ill health. Is it pre-ordained or happenstance? I don’t know, but I do know how very sorry I am. Patty, come to our group meeting April 20th. I think you will find it kind, caring, understanding and supportive. Lena, Shadow was sooo handsome. My BG was a black cat (you can see her pictures in the Memorial tab) and she was 18 when we said goodbye lat year. I can totally fall in love with Shadow with you, and am so very sad and sorry for your parting. It seems you and Shadow spent half his life together and isn’t that wonderful? I was only with BG for five of her 18 years, and they were golden. I hope you can think of the good, and great life you and Shadow shared, and that your memories bring you joy and smiles. And please Lena, join us April 20th in our group meeting to talk about Shadow with us. We’re thinking of you, with heartfelt sympathy. Toni -

This is my beautiful kitty, JellyBean. I lost her very unexpectedly on December 16, 2022. She was just 5 years old. My heart is broken….💔🐾🐾🌈-

My best friend of 8 years, Shadow, passed away on March 13th. He was 16.

Shogun is named after a Brazilian MMA fight that is a favorite of my husbands. We have been on vacation this week and I’m afraid to go home. We left him at his boarding place and he died while we were away. I feel so guilty, but I hate knowing we are going back to an empty house without him. It’s been tough, but also a good distraction for us being with family this week. -

Oh how precious, Kristina. It hurts so deeply, doesn’t it? I am so very sorry. It’s hard that our beloved pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough. I hope you can find some comfort knowing you and Digger shared a wonderful life. Hi Toni,
Digger was a pomeranian jack Russell mix dog. He was 14 years old when he passed this week. Honestly not holding up at all… he is missed greatly!! -

I’m with you about not putting them through extreme measures, especially when they are older. I’m facing that with Walter right now, and it helps to think of what is best for them, not us. And no, you can’t replace a pet with another. You CAN open your home and heart to a new love, but no one will “replace” Ricky. It may be some time before you are ready to do that. Or, what happened to me – a cat needed a home after my BG died and I took him in. I didn’t think I was ready, and I really didn’t want another pet yet, but it truly took me out of my blues and pain by having him. Now I have another cat who’s person died and he is old and sick. It’s easy to fall in love, brutal to say goodbye. Please don’t let anyone pressure you into doing anything. Come to our group meeting and you’ll hear similar stories from others. It can help a lot. Let us know how you are doing. It takes time, Donna, and we’re here for you. Toni -

Oh Amanda, I am sorry. One thing we encourage is to celebrate birth and adoption dates, not only remembering the date we said goodbye. Perhaps you can try that. An exercise we use is to recall at least one fun or funny thing from our times rogether when the tears take over. Talk with us about your babies with our kind, understanding group meeting on April 20th. And keep sharing with us here. Sending you {HUGS} Toni -

Thanks. I know I did everything I could for him, but without more, painful procedures he would have suffered. Ive lost my friend, my support, my guardian all in 4 days. Everyone says get another dog to focus on, but I don’t want another dog, I just want my boy…🥺 -

Good morning- So, January was a year without my Lil D, and in the next few months it will be a year without my Piglet and WhiteBoy. Honestly, it doesn’t get easier. I see little reminders around the house of them and the hurt surfaces. I cry and talk to them telling them how much I miss them, until finally the tears stop. My heart hurts always, I think I just figured out how to cope, survive but not get over them being gone.

Janell, this was Isaac? I am so very sorry. Was he always diabetic? Is nine years a fairly good life span for a diabetic kitty? If you can enlighten us with information about that, it would be important, meaningful and very kind of you. May we see some pictures of your sweet Isaac? What a shock, Donna. It’s understandable that you are numb. I have a friend whose cat was sitting in his lap, he went to the garage and came right back in, and the cat was dead. The vet didn’t know what happened but suspected a heart failure. It happened in literally two minutes. As awful as it is for you, Donna, perhaps it was best for Ricky. There must have been an underlying condition. I am just so sorry for this. Please come to our kind and caring group meeting April 20th. Lost my 9 y/o diabetic boy kitty August 19, 2022. He fought long and hard, but his little body just gave up.
